  • My name is Daisy :'D

  • Three people are going to hell for their sins.

  • Daisy is my favorite album of all time, I cannot wait to see them for the first time in February :D

  • I agree with dishlerm712! jaimelochte you are a god dam idiot. Plus there is absolutely no proof that Vin wrote this song that I am aware of. In fact Jesse preformed this song when he was doing solo tour with Kevin Devine long before Daisy was even recorded, there are some changes but most of the song is the same.

  • Start touring again so I can see you for the 11th time, Brand New. That's more dates than most girls I've chilled with.

  • Listening to this tells me its a Jesse song, so it's confirmed slick.

  • It's definitely confirmed that Jesse wrote this song, so yeah. You're wrong.

  • Handcuffs was kindof a dud. It didn't belong on Devil and God.

  • i like this better than the album version

  • as much as I love the original, this version blows my mind, cannot wait until February when I'm going to see them twice, might be my final gigs because after them I will have seen all my favourite bands.

  • Just look at the tabs fpr like every song on Daisy. Seriously, do it. Now look at the tabs for songs on The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me.

  • Also, for those who say "they're not trying", stop whining. I simply think that they're just not trying to make music that adhere's to everyone music taste. Meaning, they're done with trying to sound like everyone elsejust to maintain or gain more fans. And I love that. They're not afraid to create music that they love irrgardless if everyone else will accept it. It seems like their music is very personal in way... Kudos to being true to yourselves and keep up it, boys!! ;)

  • @hotchagirlie I disagree. They're not. Vin is just strumming one chord in many places in this song. And I haven't actually seen any comments saying that...and I've gone all the way to the end of the comments.

  • I am head-over-heels in love with this song!! :D ...Some might say that their older stuff (especially Deja) is better BUT honestly, I think each of their albums has something different to offer. They're all pretty freakin' amazing and I have favorites from each of their albums. I love how Brand New is becoming more comfortable with branching out and being experimental with unmarked territory of music. Through their music, you can tell that they've grown up. And I've grown up alongside them star

  • @hotchagirlie i agree with all that:) And i would also like to add that Daisy honestly has some of the best songs to play live. Like i barely listen yo daisy on my ipod but i alway listen to their live performances of songs from daisy on youtube:)

  • I did lsd with Jesse before this was recorded

  • This version fucking kicks. All there is to it.

I mean, the "heavy" version does too, but this is so great in its own way.

  • @jason91093

    Fuck all haters?

  • handcuffs is amazing fuck all haters

  • Vinnie's little guitar leads make me wet.

  • Calling this song and Handcuffs a "dud" is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard.

  • @dishlerm712 i think bought a bride is now one of my favorites if not my favorite.

  • Make love to this song!

  • @daaaaaaisyyy to the original version?? song's intense, must have gotten pounded hard uh?

  • i wish there was the album version on youtube somewhere

  • This tune is a beast and this album is a monster.

  • I love the 'bonus' chorus.

  • I'm so stunned.

  • i dont think matters to them who wrote the song. because wheather vinny wrote it, jessie wrote, kevin divine or andy hull wrote it, they sing and play them with everything they have and do a damn good job too. this version fucking rocks.

  • i dont think matters to them who wrote the song. because wheather vinny wrote it, jessie wrote, kevin divine or andy hull wrote it, they sing and play them with everything they have and do a damn good job too. this version fucking rocks.

  • Sleepin' on the stairway, dreamt I had a boat;

sailed it out of harbor, shot it full of holes

Folded up my prayer book, couldn't see no lights

drownin' in the kelp bed, I bought a bride.

  • @Brrradams agreed. this song is sick as hell.

  • Don't give a fuck who wrote it, I like this song. And Handcuffs. Don't give a fuck who wrote that either. Just know that these guys do a good thing and I'm thankful as hell for that. Can't wait to see them again to scream my lungs out and explode.

  • @jaimelochte I don't know if you mean to say that this is one of the "duds" on the album, but this is one of my favorite ones on the album, and I like all of the songs on it. Fool.

  • is it just me or does brain lane kinda look like less a punked out version of travis barker

  • The Devil and god are raging inside me was an amazing album. Every song was completely inspiring, and full of emotion. But when I heard Daisy, it just killed me. It sounds like they didnt even try. The lyrics are shit. The guitar is rough. I love brand new. They are my favorite band, but this album was horrible. Even in their interviews, the band seems to be falling apart. I pray it isn't. Of course this is all my own opinion, my garbage can be another mans treasure.

  • @skate4lifemusic would you rather have them have the same sound throwout there musical career? imo deja was the best, and my friend says your favorite weapon is. and about the interviews and them falling apart. it is the opposite way then you think. they lead there own lives. and i think thats great because they wont get wrapped up in most band drama that happens. brand new isnt going to break up...

  • @skate4lifemusic Their albums never sound the same what did you expect? And as for the lyrics they're still deep it's just a different style.

  • people who said daisy sucked, clearly didn't give it a chance, because it's amazing musically and lyrically so either except change or gtfo

  • You have got to be kidding. I mean at first, like you guys, I was like wow.. Really? Maybe Brand New lost their touch.. But after listening to it for a little while, I really came to enjoy their new cd. It shows so much more of what the band is and brings out a whole new side of them. I have to say it is my favorite of all the cds.

  • @millakillaa i wouldnt say favorite of all time but it is an awesome cd that just takes some getting use to...its a whole new sound and people arnt use to it...i still cant beleive we are having this debate...its been like 2 years...

  • i think daisy would have been a good ACOUSTIC album like this, the devil and god are gaing inside of me i think tops everything much more deeper than this, but overall brand new is god, they can make shit from a dead mutilated horse sound good.

  • Just by the emotion jesse sings this with compared to all of his other performances, you can tell Vinny wrote this one. As much as I love Brand New, all of Vinny's songs are always kinda the duds on the albums (i.e. handcuffs), so daisy wasn't my all time favorite. TDAGARIM is and will always be in my opinion one of the best albums ever written.

  • @jaimelochte while i admit jesse's song writing is much more advanced than vinny's but to me handcuffs is a brilliant song on a brilliant album

  • @jaimelochte you're so damn wrong kid. jesse wrote this and has said it. go sit down....

  • @jaimelochte Whoa whoa whoa... I agree with most of what you say, except for the part about Vinny's song's sucking. Handcuffs is bad? It has some of the most emotional lyrics in the album. Welcome to Bangkok is a dud? That's a lie. An amazing, moving song. And now you call this bad? ...Pretty ignorant. Just because it's not written by Jesse or the whole band doesn't in any way make it bad.

  • @Brrradams damn right bro, this is an incredible song. i also remember when TDAGARIM was released Jesse saying 'Welcome to Bangkok' was his favourite song on it, to play live at least.

  • @Brrradams Couldn't agree more with you

  • @jaimelochte wrong

  • @jaimelochte this song and handcuffs are the tits!!!!!

  • @jaimelochte To me jesse is singing this with a lot of emotion and handcuffs is one of the most thought provoking and beautiful songs on the devil and god, so I cant agree that vinnies songs are duds. While this isnt my favourite song off daisy its still bloody good and this version can be listened to all day

  • @jaimelochte I wouldn't call 'Bought a Bride' or 'Handcuffs' duds, and you do know that Vin wrote most of Daisy, right?

  • @TomJayneCobb I think that's why he's saying Daisy wasn't his face, cause Vin wrote a lot (Jesse said it was pretty much half and half) but I agree, I think Vin's writing is brilliant, this and Handcuffs are great, Handcuffs being pretty amazing.

  • @jaimelochte handcuffs was the shit. brand new doesn't have duds.

  • @jaimelochte Jesse wrote this song.

  • @jaimelochte Jesse wrote it, see the video of the first time he played it.

  • @jaimelochte handcuffs is my fav song on TDAGARIM haha idk if i would call it a "dud"

  • @jaimelochte Handcuffs was written by Vinny? It is one of my FAVORITE songs on that album!

  • @jaimelochte Really? I knew handcuffs was the only song written by Vinny on the album and I thought it was one of the best songs on it. You shouldn't say its a "dud" just because it wasn't written by Jesse. It's still a great song.

  • @jaimelochte HANDCUFFS will always be one of my all time favorites! Thanks! <33

  • @jaimelochte WTF are you talking about? Jesse wrote Bought a Bride. Why would Vinny write about buying a hammer and never singing again. He also wrote vices and sink I believe. Go to iTunes and look at the composer it'll tell you which one was written by Jesse or Vinny or both.

  • @jaimelochte research what the song hand cuffs is about. its pretty much the whole tdagarim album wrapped into one.

  • @jaimelochte I'm pretty sure Jesse wrote this one. Cause he was playing it on his acoustic solo tours. The lyrics are really good and clever, also none of the songs he sang for this Daisy session were really that emotional.

  • @jaimelochte jessey lacey wrote this song.

  • @jaimelochte Dad: "Son, are you talking out of your ass again?"

  • @jaimelochte Handcuffs a dud? I have come to one common conclusion about you "Jaimelochte" You are deaf. and I am sorry about your hearing loss since you can't enjoy Brand New. But keep your negative deaf comments off of Youtube.

  • @jaimelochte But Vinny wrote Gasoline, and I've never heard Jessie sing a song with more emotion than that song

  • @jaimelochte Uh, what? This song, above any on Daisy, is totally TDAGARIM. Pretty sure it was said somewhere along the line that this is a Jesse song, too, and it just sounds like it. You're saying he's not "singing with emotion", and I'm gonna guess this is the only version of the song you've heard. There's no reason to scream his balls off on a more subtle performance, it wouldn't be appropriate.

Also, agreed with the other top comment - duds? Naw.

  • @jaimelochte You do know that Jesse wrote this right? He played it on his solo tour with Kevin Devine

  • who's the 1 fag who hit dislike?

  • FUCK DAISY!! Brand New let me down i was very mad at that album!!!

it SUCKED. but i still love you brand new.

  • @DRExredsox23 you suck. but i still love you.

  • @DRExredsox23 you're retarded daisy is their best work.

  • @regispenguin hahahaha you guys really dont know real brand new..Im not one of those "early brand new is better and they shouldnt change" people..but Im pretty sure i kno music, and being Brand New one of my all time favorite bands i will say DAISY is the worst album they have put out. Every song sucked except for one or two and then they were alright songs. I had never been so dissapointed in my life. But i still love brand new and all there fans lol.

  • I've looked everywhere for these songs online. Is this available on iTunes or anywhere else?

  • Jesse might be old enough to be my father,

but I'd still marry him in a heartbeat.

  • Can't get over how good this is. Brand New would make my life to release a whole Daisy album in this style.

  • the lyrics to this song are genius. as are most of jesse's songs.

  • I honestly feel like that one person who disliked this just hit the button for the heck of it. That makes me so mad

  • holy shit did anyone else notice this? that brand new is fucking amazing

  • i just realized I have the same cap and shirt as Vin in this video... lol I do always see him at roosevelt field mall too its a bit funny

  • I like how everyone calls him Jesus when majority of his lyrics from the ladder albums are about being lost and being on a religious quest and not understanding Him or this world. If you really had any respect for him, you wouldn't mock his name on a subject that is obviously very personal with him. Not to mention it's blasphemy.

  • Well said, @musicismyfavorite777

  • @musicismyfavorite777 Why would it matter that something is blasphemy to any particular religion or fairy tale cult? A bunch of his lyrics mock christianity.

  • @musicismyfavorite777 I completely disagee with you :D

Of course you are right, his lyrics ARE religious(and awesome), but you don't have to agree with his religion just because you love his music. I am atheistic and love to call random people (okay not THAT random, more like random familiar people) around me "Messiah! x3", but I never disrespect them :3

    Well, last but not least:

    Blasphemy x3

    No offense

  • killingtime1wontstop .... hell yea this version is wayyy better than the album version... what makes it good is how it sounds so sad ... :)

  • his voice is literally chilling. fucking amazing.

  • it makes me so happy that no one disliked this. i live for brand new.

  • This is so good. It would be pretty awesome if they recorded and released some softer versions of songs like this one. I love both versions.

  • that last verse...i wonder why it isn't in the album version?

  • @FLAMMABLEsquids i guess this was performed before the album was recorded (I don't actually know), so the lyrics just changed until the song was recorded for Daisy.

  • @reinn86 probably. they do some odd things with their lyrics though. like the Degausser lyrics are usually completely different live.

  • Brand New is my religion. Jesse Lacey is my God.

    :]

  • @NJF1989 I agree. but I've changed his name to Jesus Lacey. It sounds better, huh? =)

  • @TotalRIDOCULISM13 hahaa, it's perfect!

  • @NJF1989 haha I know, right?! =)

  • They really need to make a folk or folkish record.

  • Where can I get the MP3 for this??

  • While I'm not a big fan of Daisy, I think this is one of the best songs Brand New has ever written. Top 3 for sure. Vinnie sounds great here too

  • they should make a daisy sessions album with simpler calmer versions of the whole album. it'd definitely sell, and be a lot of people's favorite album.

  • i like this version, but i think i prefer the heavier sounding one on the album

  • the look of the studio looks like daisy if that makes sense. the blue lighting and stuff

  • since when did music become a contest?

  • simply the best band ever

  • i love these sessions. is there an album of these songs out there?

  • Not these versions of the songs. But his song is on Daisy, it's just heavier.

  • @Boonskee even though you asked this 2 months ago, the album is called Daisy. sounds pretty different from the sessions. although by now you've probably already heard it haha.

  • This whole song screams post-Civil War American frontier.. It's brilliant songwriting

  • boner! jesse lacey is amazing, none of there songs sound the same which makes them amazing, every album is something new

  • @KrisLindquist8 Every album is something "Brand New"

  • actualy its pretty bad ass

  • this is pretty amazing

  • This version is so amazing. I like it better than the album version, though I do love both. Great lyrics STILL, Jesse Lacey is a bonafide genious. I love how I've grown with them and they're music over the years.

  • i second that. well said.

  • @killingtime1wontstop why does everyone think this band is just jesse.

daisy was mostly wrote by vinnie

  • @broskihanNBD Normally Jesse wrote most, they've said before that Daisy is a newer change for them because Vin helped a lot. But Jesse has still written most of their stuff.

  • @killingtime1wontstop I agree many Jesse has a knack for writing awesome lyrics. So does vinny yoo which is something I never knew, I know he wrote gasoline and a few other songs on daisy

  • I like the screaming a lot, it makes the shows that much more epic. When the music just explodes and everyone goes crazy.

  • exactly, he said he wanted to make an album they can have fun playing live...i saw them live and mission accomplished, it was amazing.

  • I prefer the album version, to be honest. And by the looks of it I'm the only one that does. :( I agree with what someone below said about liking Brand New so much it hurts!

  • wow! finally someone that agrees with me i definitely prefer the album version

  • Is there more footage from this session?

  • I was wondering the same thing

  • this is aweshome

  • If it was possible to marry all the men in this video, I would totally do it.

  • I think i recongnize some of these guys can anyone tell me their names?

  • the songs are so much better when he's not screaming...i hope they figure that out soon, looks like they did....

  • 6 of one, half dozen of the other

  • what a great version of this song!

  • why wasnt the whole album like these sessions?

  • i dont think it would pack as much of a brand new punch. can you imagine vices acoustic?

  • MOST FUCKING AMAZING BAND EVER!!!!!

  • I could listen to only Brand New t he rest of my life and I would be content. God, they're soooo amazing!!!!!!!

  • Bought A Bride could be on every Brand New album from now on and I would love it.

  • i never liked a band so much that it almost hurt, until Brand New

  • i agree with dzohare! Roll on wembley with glassjaw :)

  • Jesus christ brand new are unbelievably good, cant wait to see them again in january in london, whoop whoop! =D

  • brilliant, absolutely brilliant, i hope they never quit making music, it would be devastating.

  • Love it.
