  • Awesome review thanks

  • Skyline is so light it fell outta my pocket and I lost it...need to use pocket clips more often

  • how do you clean you knife after the food prep?

  • @gilliesniper99

Immediately afterwards...Water, mild soap and finally coat it with a light layer of mineral oil.

  • @elpidi0526

btw, wash off the soap (or dishwashing liquid), of course. ;)

  • I think he likes the knife, guys.

  • What's with the subliminal message at 5:15?

  • @TheDailyToker916

One of my three failed attempts in securing a suitable thumbnail snapshot for the video. (You might have noticed the same thing at 2:36 and 7:51.) The claim is that what you see at the 1/4-, 1/2-, and 3/4-marks of the video are captured for your available thumbnails to illustrate the video.

Alas, it didn't work... and I was too lazy to re-edit the pic into new times within the timeline to rectify the issue.

Forgive me if you found it distracting. And nice eye, btw. :)

  • @elpidi0526 Oh right on, I had no idea. Fantastic review man, my Skyline should be arriving on my porch within the hour!

  • @gabeonly what you lookin for

  • dude its a good knife but that was a cool belt(;

  • @vogelbe02

    haha!!

That, my friend, was the dilapidated and tattered remains of a 20-something-year-old powerlifting belt. (My father used them a lot for lower back support in the 80's & 90's.) I was able to salvage the scraps of a few of them and ended up making strops out of them... and using them for stuff like this.

  • My skyline 2.535 lol.

  • EPIC FOOD PREPARATION!!!

  • @paintball626

    hehe :)

  • Good review, but the intro was a little unnecessary. Its a pocket knife, you're not going into mordor.

  • @USmarine202020

Thanks for the tip USmarine. Have a good one.

  • @elpidi0526 I am going to be as forthcoming as I can possibly be..do not cut your finger off

  • i have one for trade if anybody wants it

  • Oh yeah shave those sexy legs

  • I have just ordered one after watching your excellent review. I'll post my thoughts on it after I have had a chance to use it.

All the best from a 'not so sunny' Scotland.

  • Excellent review. Here in the UK its a much more expensive knife (around 75usd).

How well does the steel hold its edge. Its a steel I've never used before.

    Cheers......Ian

  • @Gumbob1967

Yeah, hate it for you guys in the UK. As far as your question goes, it's a relative one. For example, CPMS30V is still the darling of the stainless community, and for good reason...but you pay for it. My best "quick" answer for you is if you're a heavy, daily knife user, you're going to be touching up this blade on a daily or, at least, a semi-weekly basis. As for me, a quick strop everyday goes a long way towards maintaining a moderately employed Skyline. Have a good one.

  • this is an amazing review. subbed

  • your intro makes nutnfancy look like a pussy. i am subbed

  • i feel like you had fun while making the intro and outro. great job on them too, i enjoyed watching!

  • Great video dude the Skyline rocks dont believe everything u hear from NUTNFANCY though he is the most overrated gear queer youtube has to offer.

  • Dude you should market that video to Kershaw for commercials

  • Dude you should market that video to Kershaw for commercials

  • @ejsst5

Haha!! One of the nicest comments I've ever read. Thanks for making my day.

  • my friend thats a nice review, i have a kershaw, it's a great blade!!!!

  • @faithgoshi

Thank you faithgoshi. Kershaw makes some great knives, that for sure.

  • Holy production value! Well played. I only buy Benchmade and Kershaw, and I often find myself grabbing this knife over more expensive/high quality blades like my favorite mini-griptilian. This is a great knife to own in this price range. Awesome review.

  • @COCoftheWalk

haha!! Yeah, got my wife the Mini-Grip with the pink handle. Hated the edge that came with it but it cleaned up very nice on the paper wheel sharpener. Great knife. Might have to do a review on it with the careful & clear disclaimer that the pink knife belongs to the missus, lol. Thanks for the kind words, my man!!

  • great intro and review!

    JBK,

  • @JBK2596

    Thank You!

  • dude i already have this knife and i might have to buy another after that intro. 10/10! just subscribed

  • @joenkrystel

hehe. Thanks man. I appreciate the kind words.

  • Excellent review, thanks for the time you put into that. I just picked up a Kershaw Skyline today and I'm really loving it so far. More than I expected to be honest.

  • @saigudbai

Thank you for the kind words. Hope the Skyline continues to live up to your expectations!

  • ...weird

  • i have one too! VERY gd knife

  • OK that was a badass intro! just got mine today. Question! my flipper doesnt deploy blade all the way to lock without wrisrt flip. would like a gun oil help?

  • @wsrush1985

Yeah, gun oil could help -- some have their preferences for gun oils -- I've always been privy to Break Free CLP. But for knives (that I know I'll never use for food prep) I actually use Tuf-Glide by Sentry Solutions.

    ---

What I used for my Skyline was simple Mineral Oil. It is food safe and does an excellent job in lubricating and protecting the blade. Also remember that certain knives just have a natural break-in period. The deployment will get quicker with use.

  • Scary!

  • that was one hellova intro!

  • @ivageivage

Thanks man. Definitely took a little time to make.

  • Dude, next time just skip cutting the leather belt and send it to me...

  • @rooster42x

    yep, sure thing...

  • Very excellent review. I'm impressed with all the thought that went into this video. Subbed and thumbs up!

  • @wallmartkiller

Thanks, my man. A labor of love, as it were. (Appreciate the sub btw.) I'm always open to critiques and suggestions. Have a good one.

  • I have the same pointer device myself! ;)

Since I found the advantage of the convex edge, I have started to prefer it over the hollow grind and have therefore chosen it as my preferred EDC.

  • @traderjoes

Couldn't agree more. The cKc Hiker will always remain my Numero Uno EDC blade.

  • Nice review Matt. I like Kershaw. My tyrade is awesome, although not as cheap as this model. I really liked that dedicated pointing device you use on the blade measurements.. lol.. nothing-fancy about that. :)

  • @knivesandstuff

Thanks Kyley. Yeah, definitely one of those knives that if something happens to it, no big deal and no major money loss.

And yeah, the Pathfinder is awesome!!! Just need some funds and maybe...

  • @elpidi0526 Ahh Well.. You can shelve that RTAK 2 as a Love Present and sit it above the Mantle.

  • i got #32

  • Suppa duppa production and quite interesting knife. Thanks again Matt.

Now I go back to improving my editing skills ;)

  • @MonsieurFromLondon

    Thanks my man.

    ---

"Now I go back to improving my editing skills"

Me too. So what's next on the knife agenda for you?

  • @elpidi0526 lol

Well more ESEE stuff (obviously!) and also some more cKc as soon as I get the new one. If you can, get your hands on the Pathfinder it is amazing, I cannot say enough good about this knife. If you like the Hiker and Belt you will love the Pathfinder :)

  • @MonsieurFromLondon ahem.. I have to agree with Monsieur.. The Pathfinder is AWESOME.. lol.. 2 left out of the 6 LE's

  • @quinnmcguee

Speak of the devil. Figured you'd be to your ears in movie-editing insanity right now. Was going to drop off a little private message but didn't want you to feel pressured to answer immediately with your schedule. Guess now I will, lol.

  • good production. like the weight in Grams also.

  • @CuteChihuahuaDog

    Thanks CCD.

  • great video!!!

  • @cutlerylover

    Thanks Jeff.
