  • I like this scene in the books better because he wakes up wet and asks if it's flooding XD

  • she likes him already

  • he is surely trying to make her like him and it works XD I think he proupsly did that so she would come to his room XD LOL prev XD

  • 5:34 Very sensible Jane, you must say no to temptation and... Aw who am I kidding, if it were me I would've ravaged him the moment his bed wasn't on fire anymore.

  • Toby stephens really looks like damian lewis!!! I even thought that Toby stephens played in the band of brothers!!!

  • oh yea mr rochester, oh yea...

  • Apparently the man sleeps with his riding boots on.

  • Mr Rochester = SEXY BASTARD

  • The grace poole in this version is fantastic! Just the right amount of creepy. And did anyone catch the silhouettes @ 5:36 They were gorgeous.

  • GAH. I know exactly how she feels when she goes back into her room after Rochester finally lets her go back to sleep. The acting in this version is so incredible...even if the screenplay takes major liberties in departing from the book.

  • i like their grunts and moans while trying to put out the fire ;)

  • Mr. Rochester is sooooo sexy in his pajama -3

  • I've seen a lot of versions, but these two by far have the most chemistry. The 2011 version comes second. I guess this is the best to me because it digs just a little deeper into the book.

  • 5:35 if i haven't read the book, i would have expected a kiss

  • where can i buy the whole dvds ? why much does it cost including shipping?

  • @chuckz92: but he is not shirtless in this version ;) only nearly shirtless :) which i for my part like very much. i think that men without shirts look more dignified than men without pants :D do you agree?

  • @LaLuminosa79

Certainly more dignified. In 2011 it is very awkward, which I think is good. They are not as respectful towards Rochester.

  • they almost kissed! awww!!

  • It was his coat! wiii :D

  • 5:35 wooooooo!

  • This is the 3rd version I've watched and the only one where Rochester asks if Jane is hurt after the fire..so cute!

  • could it be... that when Mr. Rochester called Jane a witch.. he meant that she has already bewitched him?? In the book he said later that he knew that she was going to be good for him from the first time he met her. :D

  • If that man comes to close to me like that, I don't know what I will be capable to do with him LOL

  • Oooh the tension at 5.45! :)

  • Nom, nom nom. that is all i have to say on the matter of Mr. Rochester and his shirt being open.

  • According to Victorian standards, the scene in the novel is very daring. I think they made it just a little more intimate to make a similar effect with today's blunted audience :-)

Why should even a Victorian bachelor not sleep with his shirt open? He would hardly expect anyone to come in by night.

  • OMG the woman playing Grace is the evil teacher Agatha Trunchbull! O_O

    how creepy!

  • @tarynrose1000 You try living in the 17th century

  • @IronBreloom Actually, it's the 19th century

  • Men please stop complaining about how hard it's to please women. All you need to do is to dress like Mr. Rochester, act like Mr. Rochester!

  • First impression of this series: This is gonna suck... all the people who like this are rabid fangirls...

First ep in: Hmmm... not bad... not bad...

Now: Ok... I think I agree with these rabid fangirls :D

  • Am I the only one who thinks he looks like Damian Lewis?

  • @littlebuffolow He really does! That was the first thought I had when I watched the first episode. :D

  • Toby Stephens is part god. Makes sense, considering his mother is a Goddess.

  • i don't inderstand it. he tells her to go back to her room and then he asks he if she's going??

  • those who talk about jane's eyebrows are just jealous of her

I know i am...if a man did to me what he did at 5:30-5:40...ohhh *swoooooon*

  • i'm neither washing this hand nor returning that coat >:D

  • jane as a pretty side-face silhouette

  • she handled it quite well didn't she? lol i think i would have just kept looking at his chest the whole time.

  • Step away Mr. Darcy, Rochester's here to win the who-looks-sexiest-in-his-shirt contest! <3

  • Have u seen the way she looks at his chest at 2.09 the sly look?

  • i love how he tells her to go then is all "what are you leaving me??" seriously dude. O_o

  • ...I'm never washing this hand...ever!

  • How does he lay in bed surrounded by flames and not turn over and go, "Wow, it's kind of hot in here HOLY CRAP A FIRE" ??

  • @ProjectREL because he's beginning to suffocate.

  • I wish I played the role of Jane Eyre. My name is Jane too :)))

  • just watch is adams apple bop up and down in 5.31, glup!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • did he sleep in his shoes ?

  • 6:00 Her face = "I gotta put this in my journal!!!" Jk

  • Apparently I'm the only one who finds Mr. Rochester creepy in this scene? Older guy comes home to find young, family-less, extremely innoscent governess caring for his child, gets her alone at night....

  • @AlinaTowers

    SPOILER WARNING

He did not entice her into his room on purpose. He does behave wrongly but creepy? Rather messed up. It is not an everyday event to nearly get assassinated by your wife ... I like to think it is the master-servant relation that makes it thus impossible for him to speak first. Jane has to be the first one to declare herself.

But yes, he does take advantage of her being socially unprotected, though not at this phase.

  • @AlinaTowers read the book... you silly child.

  • @AlinaTowers If you haven't read the book, then yes it may seem a little creepy...But I still find it so romantic...I mean after being pushed around and 'trampled on' since childhood, she finally finds a man, who may be older, but loves her wildly. But the chemistry between both of them is just so appealing. Watch the 1983 version. Juts as good. But it's almost word to word by the book;..

  • My heart is fluttering :)

  • Ok I'm sorry, but her eyebrows :/

  • hahaha... i thought that too... his bed is covered in flames and all i take notice of is that he's almost topless and squint my eyes to take his body in better!! haha... aw well :)

  • Aunt Marge from Harry Potter! :) Seriously, anything I watch has at least one HP actor in it.

  • @123doobedoo and you do know that Mr Rochester/ Toby Stephens is actually the son of Professor McGonagalls?? :)

  • @Krissyxxlyn Really?! The son of Maggie Smith..... makes him so much cooler! :)

  • @123doobedoo which character in Jane Eyre is she?

  • @apologia1aquamermaid Grace Poole :)

  • isn't it interesting how in this version rochester is shirtless and in the 2011 movie he's pantless.

  • @chuckz92 Ahahaahaaa, never really noticed that!

  • 5:33 is SOOOOOO cute!

  • I love how right after they put out the fire he asks if Jane is okay <3

  • Fortnight?

  • 11 dislikes! Seriously!?!? Bertha Mason, who gave you permission to be on the computer? Where's Grace Poole?

  • @musicalmeg19 probably drunk on gin again.

  • @musicalmeg19 ...They prolly saw the 1996 version with Charlotte Gainsbourg...absolutely superb. Miles and miles between the acting and chemistry.

  • half these comments talk about janes ugly eyebrows or how smexy rochester is... lol

  • i love this miniseries. seriously cannot get enough of this version of jane eyre, north and south, and pride and prejudice. thank you bbc!

  • I got all excited when I heard "I wouldn't mind being in your bed" at 4:52!! oh debt... shoot.

  • @Massimo483 LOL!!!!!! Your comment REALLY made me laugh!

  • cant help but imagine a lift where the candlelight lightens up those tower windows

  • So, um... Rochester sleeps in his boots? lol

  • @tiffers1912 He fell asleep reading.

  • @PeppermintGlow Ahhh of course. Makes perfect sense. Thanks!

  • Awww, I love how she kisses her hand. That is just the sweetest thing.

  • did anyone notice that grace poole is the woman who played aunt marge on Harry Potter?!!

  • my mum comes running up the stairs becasue she can just hear me shouting at the screen 'KISS HER! KISS HER!'...

  • i have read this book and i now that he didn't kiss her in this moment but i was a little nervous i was screaming KISS HER !! KISS HER !! i love toby's voice...shit that man is PRETTY...

  • All you hear when they are trying to put out the fire is "aaah and ughah and grunt snort" lol

  • @MegaMagicStars Thank you so much. I've always wondered.

  • How long is a fortnight?

  • @disneyworldcrazy1 2 weeks

  • @disneyworldcrazy1

    Two weeks.

  • i dont know, but that seemed sort of fun...

...waking up in the middle of your burning bed and then

    trying to put it out...

  • @abarre6 pyromaniac??

  • i remember watching this scene and just being like, "omg kiss her kiss her kiss her!" the whole time hhahahaha

  • @fantabulousstargirl i always think that during this scene

  • i knewwwww all the comments would be about the almost shirtness mr rochester ;)

  • Mr. Rochestor looks so hot when he's talking with Jane about saving his life. LOL :P

  • @xylie100 this mr rochester ALWAYS looks hot. Mmm.

  • @okayawesome1 totally agreed......... !!!!

  • Comment removed

  • ...We agreed that you'd never be cold again( just kiss me, pleaseee kiss me) - Well Jane if you must leave me, you must ( Yes,yes go before I grab you and throw you on the bed and before the creator of this comment gets into the hospital due to a heart attack)

  • A girl's approach on Mr Rochester's thoughts... . - Jane ,you just saved my life (And for that I love you even more deeply and tenderly) - You mind if we shake hands?(That way I'll be able to touch your hand and keep you in my room as long as I want) -I knew you'd do me good, the first time I met you(I fell in love with you the first time I saw you)-I knew I wouldn't mind being in your dept( You make me feel emotions I've never experienced before...

  • haha damn.... id nvr leave... haha... trying to breathe haaha

  • He's grunting so much I would think he were playing tennis.

  • Shirts should be made illegal for Mr. Rochester.

  • "well if you must leave me, you must" swooning over here!

  • oh gosh i definetly loove this mr rochester!

  • someones got a crush

  • SEXUAL TENSION IN THE AAAIRRR!!!

  • How intense was that scene in the bedroom, and I don't think Jane ever washed that hand again lol!

  • I think the lot of you need to get laid or something.

  • if i set my bed on fire, would Mr. Rochester turn up shirtless, put out the fire and then wrap me in his dressing gown?

  • Evil Trunchable!!!!

  • half the reason i go on youtube is to read the comments hahaha!!! but ya rochester is kinda hot.

  • "I knew you'd do me good the first time I met you." Oh, she'll do you good all right, Rochester. Bow chicka wow wow...

  • @Hawkeyes711 lol

  • Sorry, I just started watching this movie. I have not read the book either so I don't know any plot about the story line. I tried to scroll down reading all the comments to find at least someone mentioned about the fire, but to no success. So I'm a little confused, and I have a few questions, where did the fire come from? who set up the fire and why did they do it?

  • @sparkl1nwat3r you have to watch the rest then you will understand

  • @sparkl1nwat3r You'll have to keep watching and find out!

  • @Hawkeyes711 Oh, why must you punish me like this? But...I'm happy to admit that I have finished watching the video. I don't believe myself, I happen to keep following the series till the very end in 2 days. It bothers me not knowing...although it didn't really explain who is behind the fire but for me to "keep watching and find out" I am able to predict the person behind the fire. Thank you. It's very interesting to read other people's comments.

  • ooooh nice bod there ;)

  • i love how he acts like her flaw length night gown is an anne summers suspender set or something LOL @5:46 damn i would have sooo made a move in my flaw length sexy night gown

  • I don't like Jane's eyebrows

  • I really really love and respect this adaptation, and I think it perfectly captures the spirit of the book, but the extremely immature part of me listens to the sounds they make from around 1.26- 1.49 and giggles.

  • @hmesser91 lmao! I was thinking just the same thing! xD I was thinking that if you just listen to the sound they are making it sounds like they are doing something completly different

  • LMAO!!!! I didn't even notice the sounds till I read the comments @hmesser91 I also giggled when I listened again

  • @hmesser91

BAHAHAHAAHAHA, imagine if you overheard it while walking past?! Haha.

  • @hmesser91 i think everyone giggles a little bit....theyre just SO into it..

  • OMG i would've never left that room.

  • Mr. Rochester was surrounded by flames in bed and all I could think was: "HOLY SHIT HE'S ALMOST SHIRTLESS!!"

  • grace poole looks exactly like the trunchbull!!

  • @SWISHndFLICK14

It is Trunchbull.....dun dun dun..... :)

  • hot

  • My God that man is freaking GORGEOUS! The way he wraps that blanket around Jane literally made me sigh outloud! Good Lord!

  • was he wearing boots in the bed? just wondering^^

  • @BelaSofie who doesnt? ^^

  • She should just go to bed with Mr.Rochester because I would scared shitless to sleep alone. I don't know what this bitch is waiting for, sigh...hmphh

  • the ten people who disliked this video must have been blinded by the fire and toby :) and thought they hit the like button.

  • Jane's Thoughts:''AHHHHHHHHHHHH he touched my hand!!!!! ''

  • You don't tell the suspected lunatic that you suspect them, lol, that's how people die off in movies.

  • "We agreed you'd never be cold again...so come a little closer, that's better....oh no, don't worry, I won't do a thing... I just wanna keep you warm...in fact I know a great way to stay warm, come and lie down on the bed...oh no, it's burnt...well, let's go to your bed and ehrrrr...I'll show you how we can keep warm!"

  • @ANANASJE1985 LOOOOOOL thats a bit creepy :P

  • Is grace Paul mrs trunchbull from Matilda?

  • I love romances that come from the most unexpected people

  • I would be scared shitless if I were her.

"It would be very wise to lock your door, the moment you go to bed. Goodness knows what might happen..."

    I would've been like wtf!

  • OMG, the way he puts the blanket on her and draws her closer! I'm in heaven!

  • too sexy to handle. end of story.

  • Comment removed

  • again..... DAT ASS

  • Pure hotness!

  • damn that is so hot. their chemistry is so strong it's almost touchable... he is so sexy

  • Dats HAWT.

  • "Are you going without saying goodbye?" eh...perv much?

  • I never remembered Jane Eyre being this sexy...someone open a window, its gettin' steamy!

  • 5:32 would be such an epic kiss scene!

  • The actor who plays Jane looks better with her hair down, then in that odd way she puts her hair up. In my opinion... Also how does she deny Mr.Rochester!!! He is SOOOO HOT looking with his shirt open!!!!!

  • If you close your eyes during the whole putting out the fire -scene doesnt it sound a lot like they're having a very hot and passionate moment together?

  • @unhombreviejoconalas Omg so true. And soooo awkward!

  • @unhombreviejoconalas lol it does

  • I'm sorry, she just see's a bed go on fire, and when she gets back to her room, she leaves the candle burning?

    I love this... <3

  • Does anyone else smile with her when she comes back in a her room and smiles and looks at her hand? So cute.
