Hey oddstud - maybe if viruses hadn't spread from simians to humans, and then from human to human (regardless of orientation) in some unreachable part of Africa, this MIGHT NOT HAVE HAPPENED. Your insensitivity is appalling.
So moved am I by the beauty we still have in this world. The many who have suffered, lost loved ones, the emotion and love, spoken by people who have been touched in some way by this disease is heartbreaking but reassuring for our future in the battle. It is also refreshing to read this response site without any profanity or aggression. The gay and frivolous attitude of the government is what gave this disease its strength to kill by denying its existence or threat to humanity.
I saw this movie for the first time when I was 14 years old. It was several years after it aired, but I'd seen the book in the library and I was curious. So I watched. And I cried. And I was angry. 2 people get swine flu and it's on every news channel before the week is out. 25,000 people die of AIDS and only then does the President deign to consider it an issue. Makes you wonder what would be different if the religious Right hadn't hijacked the Republican Party and the White House, doesn't it?
I came across this today. What is impressive about Elton John is that he has for almost two decades now funded the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF), which continues, even though the headlines are not there, to provide more help than any other non-governmental agency to people with AIDS.
I have AIDS AND I LIKE TO SAID THAT I LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH BECAUSE MAKE ME FEEL THAT SOME ALL WAYS IS WATCHING OVER ME. I PRAY THAT THE DAY THAT I HAVE TO DIE I DON'T DIE ALONE MAY GOD BLESS EACH PERSON THAT WATCH THIS SONG AND PLEASE HELP ANY ONE THAT YOU SEE THAT NEED HELP
@Visionsoftomorrow amen 2 that!! man...the worst part of life is watching or seeing a helpless child suffer...makes u mad, and question urself and faith...why? poor kids journey, and rest well, peace be 2 u all...
FOR MY BROTHER WILLARD .. NOT A DAY GOES BY THAT I DONT THINK OF YOU.. MY LOVE FOR YOU IS EVERLASTING... AIDS SHOULD NEVER BE A WALL THAT SEPARATES PEOPLE ..IGNORANCE ISD THE REAL ILLNESS AND UNDERSTANDING RESPECT AND LOVE IS A ROAD TO CURE.. ITS BEEN 191/2 YEARS.. I MISS U ..I KNOW WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN
I love this movie for what it taught me when I first saw it back when I was 15, every time it gets to the end credits, I cry, never fails. Even watching it now made me cry.
I am currently doing a thesis on AIDS research. Watching this video gives me a lot of prospective. So many good people are no longer with us because of this disease. I am heartbroken.
@Risa21 Good luck on your thesis. An interesting note about AIDS research: it was non animal research that actually led to the major breakthroughs in that field.
To Freddie, Ryan, Rick and all the dear people we have lost. You are remembered. You are missed. And oh how you are loved still. In my heart, this song is for YOU.
I remember hearing this song when I first heard it in 1993. I had found out a close relative had been diagnosed with HIV and this song touched a chord in me. Thank you for posting.
@JBLAKIE1 I know Howard and the crew like to bust Gary's chops over that fact. Didn't he lose a brother to AIDS in the 80's? I think that's why this song holds such deep meaning to him. Pa Pa Pussy -- just kidding:-) Nice song, but kinda schmaltzy for my taste. Glad to see that Elton John is stoll among the living. Quite a miracle he dodged the bullet if all the accounts of his wild years are true.
Last vacations I went to San Francisco and I visited the Circle of friends in Golden Gate Park. I felt so overwhelmed by the power of friendship that I shed tears of joy. Death and illness are never going to defeat that. Always look forward.
@laurie1954 Yes, the ignorance was worse than the disease. Many died alone because people were afraid to touch them, and that's sinful. I can still see my friends in my mind, remember the movie? The bridge scene when all that fell came back? I hope that happens.
My brother died of AIDS in 1985. He was Gay and I loved him more than life it self. He was and is my hero. He taught me to love other people no matter if they were different than me and that we are ALL the same inside. I miss him everyday and always carry his words of wisdom with me in all that I do. I have 14 years in the military and have known many heroes and brave men in my life but to me my brother was the bravest and will always be my hero..... RIP Ed Moore, 1985
I am also a Conservative who happens to have had a gay friend in my life who died of AIDS.....he didn't deserve to die like that...I loved him dearly....suzi
This ending always moved my hearts, no matter how many times I've watched it. It shows how HIV/AIDS have been affecting people... Even though I'm only 14, it has opened my eyes even wider to how epidemics have affected us with only some people actually grasping with what actually is going on rather than base their opinions like the people in the movie shows us.
No one cared that the gay community was dying because of this disease. It was when it became a threat to the very idiots that they stood up and took notice. The most tragic
thing about this is that the gay community had to live their lives behind closed doors, scared not only about the disease and its outcome, but also being denied treatment for it.
@countryhoney28 I hate to say this but I have to agree with you. My "uncle" (not related) told me in the CA in the early 80s they were calling it the gay cancer. His brother is gay and he asked him what he thought about the illness and his brother actually said it was probably something transmitted sexually or by blood contact.
Conservative or Liberal, Atheist or Believer, I would hope we'd all agree this is a horrible disease that noone deserves to die of & the idea that it's a punishment based on whatever kind of lifestyle you may not agree with is hateful and arrogant. These are our brothers, our children, our friends. God's children. As a straight Christian male, I apologize for how some in my 'demographic' have acted towards you. Gay or straight, my brothers and sisters with HIV- I love you and will pray for you.
I lost a brother and a sister to the aids virus. At first I was very angry with the girl who gave it to my brother . but i my brother should have done his part wear a condom. my brother died in 05 she is still alive i just saw her pregnant that poor man never knew what was happening Oh well R.I.P. Raymond 2005 and Latisha 2011
for my brother willard lamar 1961 - 1992 victim of aids, contracted through blood transfusion while on vacation - had a car accident in los angeles 1990,and received blood transfusion ... the person that gave blood to the blood bank had full blown aids...no one checked the blood .he was transfused.he suffered .. oh- god !! he really suffered.....but the lord took him home
i miss u always ..time heals all pain ..but tears flow endlessly
I can't believe when Babies and women were getting this disease, they still thought it was Gay Cancer. Hell, I can't believe 25,000 Americans had to die before Raegan said anything.
The power of the words would be moving enough if read out as a piece of prose. When sung by a master of his craft with as much passion as he could muster the song becomes incandescent!! I'm 49 now and groan at each new wrinkle and grey hair but then i just have to watch this to be so thankful for everything I've experienced and the life I've lived!
IF there ever was a silver lining to a vicous evil, horrible cloud it was that the AIDS scare brought many people closer together that would never have been on the same side of the street before. THe danger now is compartmentalising this viscous dicease to the far off provinces of africa asia brazil and south central LA so remote we cant hear the screaming of pain.
Bless you Elton A magnificent song and an effort to make people how insidious this disease can be.
It is indiscriminate and can get to our children and loved ones, not just the stereotypical homosexuals who have bore the brunt and blame for many many years.
Oh and just a footnote: I am not gay but beieve that an injustice was done to gay people in the 80's and since then
I am a very right wing conservative republican catholic, but guess what? My brother is gay and I love him more than anything in this world and my family will always come first in my life. I am MORE than PROUD to call him my brother. Anyone who has a problem with that I'll be more than happy to have words with face to face.
@FiremanMike1013 well perhaps you could teach some of your fellow conservative republicans a little lesson in decency and compassion. God knows they certainly need it.
im a russian and my half brother has black skin. Me and him fought side by side with the gays against skinheads as kids. god bless you and your family.
@FiremanMike1013 Carry it on brother. Politics and religion come second and third to love. I wish we had more people with your heart and soul. My deepest hope is that one day people will skip all the judgements and hatred and simply learn to respect and love people for who, not what, they are. I applaud you!
@FiremanMike1013 Your my kind of person...I am a great grandmother...up there in age...and want to let you know how I admire your attitude about "family"...and sticking by your brother.....I have three son`s...No one is gay in my family...To bad most people don`t have more empathy for other`s..."TO EACH HIS OWN"...I am right wing conservative republican catholic too..Your parents did a good job....
@FiremanMike1013 Anyone who has words to say about my brother will get more than words in return. These pimply 14 year-olds hiding behind their screen name would STFU quickly if actually faced with me protecting my brother...
@MrDogdays71 That goes for me too! If you have never witnessed a loved one wither away and die in front of you, one day looking healthy as an ox and virtually the next not being able to walk or breathe on their own, then you have no right, whether you think it's in jest or not, to belittle anyone simply because of their sexual orientation and that they have fallen to such a horrendous disease.
@PlanTonto True, there is just so much ignorance & hate out there it pisses me off; you really get a good idea how much on YT where the homophobic little fuckers hide behind a screen name.
I said goodbye to a fair a mount of friends back in the day. And I took my anger to the streets and helped start Act-Up DC....We kicked some ass, all of us and we got shit done, we were scared out of our f-ing minds and angry at the same time, and the combination is what led a lot of us to fight. Now, I'm tired and a newer generation has come and all I can say is, don't fuck it up!
@1caninelover Lets see, since I Aced Virology and one of the viruses of immense study was HIV, and I ALSO aced my Economics courses which focused on the late 70's economic crisis I'd have to say that makes the DoubleBlind subject, you. You can either go learn something that is real OR are you going to argue with me with your undereducated propaganda?
This song makes me cry every time I hear it. My brother passed away from AIDS in 1993. He was afraid that God had turned his back on him because of his mistakes, but as he lay on his deathbed, he finally found peace and forgiveness. I miss him terribly. It was so hard to see someone that you love so much lay there like that. He was exactly as this song says. "As light as straw and brittle as a bird" I would give anything to tell him how much I miss him and wish he was here again.
@KarenEvette my brother died of aids in 1992.i still cry .. i loved him .but he said god forgives all.before he died..how i wish .if i could talk to him again ... my name is karen also.back then my family wnted to hid it.ignorance has no place in this illness. more than ever they need us to be there . i was there until the end.....i take pride in knowing that my brother knew taht he was loved ......dispict the illness
@sierria64 So sorry for your loss, honey! My twin brother & I grew up in the the 1980s and lost a lot of friends (my brother is HIV negative) as an RN I can't tell you how much I depise the disease along with the ignorance people still have. Teri
@1caninelover TERI I AS A TRAUMA RN HERE IN SAN DIEAGO CA, I SEE SO MUCH PAIN AND SUFFERRING , AND CANT UNDERSTAND HOW PEOPLE ARE SO IGNORANT ABOUT ANOTHERS PERSONS SUFFERING..WE ALL ARE HUMAN,...KAY
Having been diagnosed for 21 years, I remember the sheer ignorance, and total lack of action on our government's part in answer to this horrible disease. Nowadays there's not as much activism as there was, people are putting their heads in the sand again. I truly miss all my friends Aids took away. Some people diagnosed today say that it's a blessing in disguise, but for me, it's been a nightmare, with my own health teetering on the edge so many times, and loss of dignity. We need to remember.
@Bettytacy Your comment was very touching to me. I'm a 35 year old woman who was merely a child when the AIDS epidemic took it's hold. Over the years I've learned and educated myself on what happened, and this film was a big part of it (still need to read the book). The Ryan White tragedy struck me even as a child how horrible people can be and ignorant of others. I'm glad you've made it so long and I'm sorry for all your losses. Please know there are many of us who still care. Much love to you.
@Bettytacy I know what you are saying to be the truth, and I remember never knowing who would be around and who would fall. Every week the local news carried more and more obituaries, as our friends and loved ones fell to this disease. The gay community was the first to change behaviors and tried to curb the spread, but it was too late!! So many died. Moral majority leaders blamed the gay community. Young people today have no idea, God willing they will not have to know what we know.
@Bettytacy I was part of that activism on the streets many, many years ago having helped form Act-Up D,C, I used to be really angry at today's younger gay generation seemingly pissing away all the hard work us older generation accomplished by engaging in promiscuous sex again. But I believe this generation's youngsters are more endowed financially and a lot of them have really thrown a lot of money at AIDS organizations. Still, the days of yelling in the streets are mostly over, sadly
As recently diagnosed HIV Positive Ive began to love this song cause its great and really relates to my situation. What is sad is that most in the gay community turn there backs and dont even want to associate with someone that is HIV+ its very sad how the community turns it back so quickly once your diagnosed positive :(
Wow, the amount of ignorance in the replies is staggering, I just finished a Virology class and guess what? The first confirmed victims of this disease were Europeans back in the late 50's, the first confirmed U.S. victims were in the late 70's, AND It was already epidemic when Regan became president. Money to study the disease to understand and prevent it was non-existant due to (adjusted) gas prices of $8.50/gal, plane tickets of $3000 and an incubation period of 3-15 years for the virus.
@sypoth Howdy doo-I reported hiv/aids patients from 1986-1999. I agree with your message but there are a couple of inaccuracies I would like to point out, please.. The 1950's case I bet you are talking about (the 1959 Belgian Congo case of a Norwegian sailor?) was later declared bogus by the scientisis working to verify results. The hiv virus will seroconvert within weeks, it is the slow progression of this hidden sneaky scourge that can take years to manifest in hideous ways.
Thinking of you Michael at Drug Fair.. Tracy Rhodes.. ....And the little girl..that terrified little girl, no more than 5 or 6, who had what was then called something like 'immune deficiency disorder', {from a blood transfusion I think}, later to be called GRID, and then AIDS. I shared a hospital room with her..I, about 11. They didn't want me to get near her..but I did, giving her a hug, holding her hand.... Her parents hardly even touched her..I couldn't understand it!! Then they moved her~ =/
Gotta loved Ronnie Reagan (sarcasm intended) shame the band played on so long while the Titanic sank because he would not free any $ to the CDC for AIDS reaearch; as for all the friends I lost from the 1980s due to 'no money for a 'gay disease' Ronnie died with their blood on his hands.
Every single word in this song creates a new chord in my vein to belief that life will be alright no matter what I face today with it's challenges with boyfriend, economic hardship. I can feel strong whether I am here or not. Atleast people who read this post will remember me for what my views mean. I feel very happy that I can listen to someone so sweet and wish I could meet Sir himself but I don't have a chance cause I am poor soul. I truly wish Sir Elton John meet me in my next life!
This video is so amazing! It can make tears fall, bring smiles to faces, create happiness and bring memories of things that have meant a lot to us. This strength can only come once in lifetime and it's all because of Elton John that I feel this feeling cause there is no one as him who can inspire and create such a downpour of emotions to my circumstances of living and life. Why? I am empowered by his words, his choice of song, his tune, his way of expression..
Anyone who is not touched by this song and the subject it addresses cannot possess any human feelings whatsoever. How can you not cry or become touched by it? They are the reason this disease continues to take such precious lives. Perhaps they won't address it until it takes a life that they are touched by. The reality that mankind does not mind a women stripping until it is the wife, daughter, mother and sister of the man who once didn't mind before these examples were applied.
@countryhoney28 except every single Ronald Reagan and jesus freak. They merely say that this was god's punishment and it is homosexuals fault for infecting the blood supply and the Reagan administration couldn't stop god's punishment and the all the others that died the homosexually for burn in hell for that. Just ask Sarah Palin, she'll say the same thing.
@sinusbradycardia i figure that if god wanted to give diseases for sinning, we'd all be sick. i'm sorry, i've been a nurse for nearly 20 years. i worked on an aids unit back in the early to late 90's. i saw the people coming in and dying a horrible death, and by the end they weren't dying as much- the antiviral drugs were working. it's a horrible way to die. noone deserves that, or we all do. we forgot compassion, and these people suffered. we should be ashamed of ourselves.
@tranurse good point. Try to get that across to the religious freaks & right wing.I was 10 or 11 when I 1st learned of AIDs.It wasn't until I was 13 that I finally heard that it has nothing to do with being gay, that anyone could get it & that the blood supply had been infected. My mother had a transfusion in 85 & she was checked for 5 straight years starting in 86 for the HIV virus. BTW, a good friend of my family died of AIDs. Unfortunately he got caught up in drugs & was infected that way.
My godfather, the man I was named after,Michael, passed away from AIDS not long ago. We all loved you very much Michael and you will never be forgotten. See you in Heaven my dear friend.
I like how the show South Park took at shot at this horrible disease and all those who died and fought so hard to try do something in 80's when Trey Parker and Matt Stone's hero's administration couldn't give a shit less about these people dying. In the show Cartman contracts AIDs through a blood transfusion and then gives it to Kyle out of spite. The theme throughout the show is wow I think I would rather have cancer than AIDs. See next post.
That was a direct shot at this movie sure and they were trying to make it seem like AIDS wasn't that big of a deal either in the 80's or now and the hero Ronald Reagan handled it just fine. Even Reagan's own son has openly criticized his father's stance on the disease and how the gay community wasn't his constituents or those trying to fight the disease and of course in RR he was playing god for and punishing them for their immoral behavior. Fuck RR, Trey Parker and Matt Stone all POS.
@orlandobabe Me Too! Then to hear people say RR was their hero and a great man and nothing could ever change the mind. As a matter of fact on xmas morning this past year someone on the Turbobuick played a clip of RR addressing the nation saying merry xmas. The person title was a Merry Christmas from a real president. I posted a reply calling RR as an asshole and said a few other things about RR pertaining to Aids and the admin. deleted my post. As it turns out he is a jesus freak teabagger
@orlandobabe Reganomics didn't work for my family and friends. In terms of being a great president for the economy. My aunt when back to school and everything to update her skill for a nurse and their were no jobs available here in southeast MI. She finally got a job for Nippon/Denson. Who were responsible for supplying paint for Ford vehicles. Her boss would always joke about Reganomics see you should be saving people's live, instead ur here doing paper work that anyone could. Reganomics!
@sinusbradycardia LOL Reganomics, I love that, I will use that when I meet another person who says he was a great president. I am sorry for what happen to your aunt, my mom didn't have it easy either in her days.
ther gay community cannot be blamed for the aids crisis, they were just a large group of the unfortunate victims that this diseas has so unfairly taken from us. RIP every victim, you are loved.
How do you compare Elton John and this such an epic song with such rubbish like Britney Spear, or GAGA. This song was dedicated to Ryan Smith who died as far as I remembered late 80s from HIV.
I'm wondering if the wheelchair dancer could be Fred or Tim Mutti. In addition to the title of their mother's book being "Dancing in a Wheelchair: One Family Faces HIV/AIDS," there's an entire two-page chapter in it called "Dancing in a Wheelchair." I haven't read the book so I don't know.
@tootall1911 ronald regan was an idiot. Typical fool who follows all the views of RUSH and all the other idiots that proclaim what a great man he was. He put alot of financing into helping arm terrorists also.Look it up or maybe call your god RUSH and ask him but he will deny it. Freaking Dummy.
@ericvelasquez051979 If you want to get into that, your Obama is an fucking dumb. I say "your" Obama because I refuse to beleive that any american in the right mind would vote for that socialist and hypocrite because I don't want someone that makes millions of american dollars off book deals, to tell me that I make to much money. What now??
@1caninelover I would thank President Reagan. What has your Obama done to find a cure for aids, what , Nothing? Thats what I thought. I am an annoying conservative for life. so deal with it. Watch fox news, they speak the truth. or just keep watching msnbc and be brain washed.
@LORDHOKAGE90 How I wished he WASNT in it. I saw him and Queen 4 times includeing LIVE AID, and was/ am a fan since the 1970 s. Of course he is one of MANY but his death hit me hard
I must say I have never heard this song, I'm not that big fan of Elton John, but I loved it's use here very touching, thank you for posting this video, may god bless all the people working to keep aids on the front burner,&in the publics eye, well done a super video.55555 in memory of a great person who died much to young and adored by all who knew the real genleman he was a credit to British Airways had so much to give to the world I dedicate this comment to David Martin Cheshire R.I.P.
Today we remember the people that are lost to the world because of that virus....
And those that are fighting with it for their lives and future, be that young or old....
We thank the people doing everything to find a cure, be that a single scientist sitting inside his or her appartment thinking of new ways to attack it, or a corporation on the verge of a possible breakthrough....
Much has happened since the start, let's hope the future holds good promises for those infected.
Too many of us have our own video in our heads with the names of our personal losses... addresses and , faces ! .... Perversity of Life, once... Absurdity of Behavior, nowadays..the Beast is not airborne .. YO, PEOPLE...GET TESTED !
This is so sad and so perfact a video to honnor all the dear people we have lost to Aids and those actives that spoke up when it wasnt ACEPTABLE to have human compassion for Aids victums. HAS ANY THING REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CHANGED. I keep asking myself that sad qustion. RIP all who have fallen, the known AND the unknown. GOD BLESS YOU
Start: 0:58 Roger Gail Lyon; 1:00 Bobbi Campbell; 1:09 Ryan White (+ Michael Jackson with his mother); 1:17 Rock Hudson; 1:24 Anthony Perkins; 1:26 Tina Chow; 1:28 Rudolf Nureyev; 1:32 Arthur Ashe; 1:39 Michael Bennett ("A Chorus Line" creator); 1:41 Liberace; 1:46 Freddie Mercury; 2:08 Elizabeth Glaser; 2:14 Magic Johnson; 2:20 Larry Kramer (founded ACT UP; still living); 2:28 Alison Gertz; 2:30 Max Robinson (newscaster)
Pt. 2: 2:33 Halston; 2:34 Willi Smith (fashion designer) ; 2:38 Perry Ellis; 2:49 Peter Allen (piano; Aussie entertainer "The Boy from Oz"); 2:48 Steve Rubell (founded Studio 54); 2:51 Keith Haring; 2:55 Rep. Stewart McKinney; 2:58 Denholm Elliot; 3:00 Brad Davis (star of "Midnight Express"); 3:02 Amanda Blake ("Gunsmoke"); 3:08 Robert Reed ("The Brady Bunch"); 3:22 Michel Foucault (French philosopher, sociologist, historian) ; 3:35 Ryan White (two pics)
my 2nd job as a nurse was on a pulmonary unit, which was basically the aids unit for the hospital in the early 90's. i've seen too many people die, blind, crazy, spitting up blood and crying for their mama's. NOONE deserves this. if they did, we'd all be sick. i learned a couple of things. one, love is love. if someone loves us, who matters what sex they are. two, all of us was someone's baby once. peace.
I volunteered at several places in San Francisco with aids and hiv patients and I lost hundreds of friends there. those guys will never be given enough credit for what they went thru! Some people wonder why american jews didn't do more for their european brothers during the holocaust, but decades later what did americans for their gay brothers? it's important to live and be aware of one's reality!
This song always makes me cry

I came across this today. What is impressive about Elton John is that he has for almost two decades now funded the Elton John Aids Foundation (EJAF), which continues, even though the headlines are not there, to provide more help than any other non-governmental agency to people with AIDS.
I am a person living with AIDS. Thank you Elton.

The most tragic
thing about this is that the gay community had to live their lives behind closed doors, scared not only about the disease and its outcome, but also being denied treatment for it.
countryhoney28 7 months ago
@countryhoney28 I hate to say this but I have to agree with you. My "uncle" (not related) told me in the CA in the early 80s they were calling it the gay cancer. His brother is gay and he asked him what he thought about the illness and his brother actually said it was probably something transmitted sexually or by blood contact.
littlesongbird1 1 month ago
Conservative or Liberal, Atheist or Believer, I would hope we'd all agree this is a horrible disease that noone deserves to die of & the idea that it's a punishment based on whatever kind of lifestyle you may not agree with is hateful and arrogant. These are our brothers, our children, our friends. God's children. As a straight Christian male, I apologize for how some in my 'demographic' have acted towards you. Gay or straight, my brothers and sisters with HIV- I love you and will pray for you.

IF there ever was a silver lining to a vicous evil, horrible cloud it was that the AIDS scare brought many people closer together that would never have been on the same side of the street before. It is indiscriminate and can get to our children and loved ones, not just the stereotypical homosexuals who have bore the brunt and blame for many many years.
Oh and just a footnote: I am not gay but beieve that an injustice was done to gay people in the 80's and since then

Much love to you.

dfviewer2007 6 months ago
@Bettytacy I know what you are saying to be the truth, and I remember never knowing who would be around and who would fall. Every week the local news carried more and more obituaries, as our friends and loved ones fell to this disease. The gay community was the first to change behaviors and tried to curb the spread, but it was too late!! So many died. Moral majority leaders blamed the gay community. Young people today have no idea, God willing they will not have to know what we know.
fortworthhomegirl 6 months ago
@Bettytacy I was part of that activism on the streets many, many years ago having helped form Act-Up D,C, I used to be really angry at today's younger gay generation seemingly pissing away all the hard work us older generation accomplished by engaging in promiscuous sex again. But I believe this generation's youngsters are more endowed financially and a lot of them have really thrown a lot of money at AIDS organizations. Still, the days of yelling in the streets are mostly over, sadly

And those that are fighting with it for their lives and future, be that young or old....
We thank the people doing everything to find a cure, be that a single scientist sitting inside his or her appartment thinking of new ways to attack it, or a corporation on the verge of a possible breakthrough....
Much has happened since the start, let's hope the future holds good promises for those infected.

my 2nd job as a nurse was on a pulmonary unit, which was basically the aids unit for the hospital in the early 90's. i've seen too many people die, blind, crazy, spitting up blood and crying for their mama's.
