  • Sooooo romanticcc candels... Lol xD

  • Nice, soft and dark... great job! ;)

  • nice cover , really smooth

  • Zomg Verdegrand! I <3 U!!! Your hands are amazing!!! *strokes*

  • You got props I didn't think someone can pull it off but you nailed it!!!

  • Nice and relentless, a good close version to the original

  • Beautiful performance, like always :)

  • wow you play very amazingly!! One thing though, you might want to play some parts softer and some louder...... it sounds weird when it's just one volume. If you listen to the original version from the CD, they have crescendos ans what not and really brings out the quality and feeling in the song...

    otherwise so good!!! X3

  • The lighting and atmosphere go perfect with this song. * u *

  • Ahhh I love this! <3

  • I haven't heard (or played this) in a long while. Brings back some good memories. Imo, the best song from FFX.

  • I wanna cut your hands and make it mine every time i see the ending of your video, from the moment you start to take your hand slowly away from the piano. argh damn it!!

  • Verdagrand great cover as always!!, i'm hear to ask you if you can cover a different thing than Final Fantasy, it's Rusty Harts - Main menu, it's a beautiful song and when i heard it I thought in your videos and telling you if you can play it, it would be awesome :)

  • @Mozilafoxx thank you, and i love the rusty hearts soundtrack, some really great music in there. i shall hope to play some of it someday.

  • @Verdegrand great!! and sure does it have great music!!

  • FFX had such a wonderful soundtrack. So much piano.

  • absolutely beautiful.

  • As usual Verdegrand, amazing performance and quality.

I'm just reading back on all these get well comments from the viewers, did something happen to ur hands? Whatever it is I hope u are on ur way to recovery (even if slowly) Thoughts from all of ur followers:)

  • Can I do a request? I hope you play next is Ghost Trick - Main Theme. I know it is kind of a hassle due to being a techno song, but, I hope you consider this and more power to you Sir. :]

    Ghost Trick : watch?v=IQ3khsva6E8

  • Seymour disliked the video =/

  • I FREAKING LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i am the view #2012 xd

  • wow what a great sound! man i wish i have started piano when i was a child... unfortunately my father didn't let me :( sucks ass... wish you all the best, i love your videos!

  • I always loved this one in the game:) first time hearing someone play it ^^ and it was awesome again!:D

  • I read the description, and I have to ask; what exactly is Synthogy Ivory? I need a more descriptive depth as to what it is and it's purpose.

  • Good to see you again. From the sound, you're doing fine.

  • So amazing, so serene...another wonderful piece performed by a wonderful performer. Do hope your hands improve their condition!

  • the lighting is a little dim...

  • That piano voice you are performing on sounds a lot like zohar002's digital piano. If so what brand is it?

  • I'm actually not a huge fan of FFX in general, but this song is still one of my all-time favorites from the series. Nice job.

  • Great job! :D But, I've noticed, you've slowed down recently! I've been patiently waiting for your videos tho. :)

  • They're both fantastic versions indeed... I think this one sounds stronger, but the piano collections version is "wider" and more emotional. All I can remember is the first page with the magical arpeggio intro - the first chords I play when sitting at a piano nowadays :)

  • @batlin yeah both versions are amazing. in fact, the PC version is one of the very few PC-version-of-an-ingame-piano-solo piece that i really enjoy. it has such an intimate, deep feel to it, and it's also a lot faster.

  • @Verdegrand you are right, in your comment, the PC versions are not only harder to play, but they change in a way that they sound completely different from the original ost.

  • @Verdegrand i enjoy the entire ff7 piano collections more than their in-game midi counterparts :)

  • Great athmosphere, nice to see you on the piano again !

  • @frankrideau thank you :)

  • I listen to FF (or KH) PC songs to help me fall asleep. They're great songs. :D

  • He's back!!!....im so happy to see you using synthogy :D......can you give us an update on your fingers?? i think many of us are still worried about that

  • @2517155 i am happy to finally use ivory, too :) let's see what i can do with it. my fingers have unfortunately not gotten better, i'm still in rehab. doesn't go well but then i have been told it could very well take years. so there is nothing i can do about that now. thank you for your support.

  • This is perfect!

Brings back many memories indeed! :)

  • This is just... Beautiful. Beyond words. Sometimes it's hard to pick a favourite of your works but this is just spectacular. There is so much depth and emotion here that I am nearly brought to tears. I could listen to this over and over again (and in fact I have been!).

  • @Serafimbnet thanks a lot, i really appreciate that.

  • Amazing! Well done!

  • There's a reason you're on my "other channel list," Great Job btw, it gave me chills.

  • @JuanJohn86 thank you for your support :)

  • One of the things I love about your videos is how they are visually beaultiful...perfect performance, in every single possible aspect!

  • @77katsumoto thank you, and yeah i enjoy lighting and atmosphere. i have a couple more ideas for similar videos, let's see what will come.

  • Damn, Verdegrand, you bring back memories.....

FFX is such an amazing game, but this piece really stands out from the rest of the soundtrack.

Very well played, I absolutely love it!

  • @morpheas768 thanks man

  • OHHHH You killed the show

  • Like some other listeners, I haven't played FFX myself and am not intimately familiar with the soundtrack, but can appreciate the mood invoked by the piece itself here. Ivory sounds great, too!

  • @docnanomusic thanks a lot, you are also one of the people who have inspired me to have a closer look at music production and those sample libraries. i'm happy that you like the sound!

  • Another fantastic performance.

  • My favorite track in the game, and you play it so greatly! I used to wander around in Via Purifico for hours just so I could listen to this song ahah ^^

  • @Snakethoot thank you, and so did i :D the first moment i was in that place i was like "omg wtf" and couldn't move for like a minute

  • Wow! thanks for this! the collections version is difficult. But I like this one, sounds exactly like the scene from the game.

  • @UncleRob199 thanks a lot, and yeah the collections version sounds fairly easy but it is actually pretty hard to play, imho

  • @Verdegrand Yeah I've tried it. Though to be honest I've prioritized other songs. (I've made a lot of progress on Silence Before the Storm) Yeah it is hard. I might try this version sometime. It seems to jump around less. You performed this beautifully. Can't wait for whatever songs you choose to play next!

  • Yes!!! So glad you played this!! Fantastic as always :)

  • awesome! i've only heard the PC version for a long time, and now i might even love this version more, it's really athmospheric with a dark touch. The OST piano arrangements are probably underrated.

  • @Sorcerer88 thanks, and i agree, the ost arrangements tend to be underrated. especially since this was a piano solo in the original to begin with, and so it works very well on the piano as a direct translation, i would think.

  • You are in heaven

  • i loved final fantasy 10. first game i ever played in the FF series :D

  • I LOVE this piece very very very much, and you played it soooooooo well!!! Much loves to you!!!

  • @angiengofficial thanks a lot :)

  • i have ivory 1.64 standalone version, how can i record my music, i mean my keyboard.

FAVORITE AND LIKE. had a hard time trying to accept the fact that this guy has become an ispiration for me because at first i though he wasnt that great. but i guess his style is the best in youtube

  • @SELG88 hi, thanks a lot, i really appreciate it. yeah i guess a lot of people might have a hard time to even acknowledge the fact that i am here. about ivory, i'm more or less inexperienced with it, but i think you need a host application to have the midi file use the sample library so it can render it, or you need to play in real time and record with something like audacity. i'll have to play around with it a bit more, perhaps i can tell you more later. greetings

  • great to see another video from you, and an excellent performance as always. seems like the ivory made a subtle difference, in my opinion (:

  • yes!!

  • Amazing. Adding to my playlist after converting it to MP3.

  • if i die your soothing playing would easily send me to the farplane :P

  • Excellent Verdegrand, you captured the essence of turmoil in this piece beautifully and I have always loved this score. Also I love how you always "give a little more" to your videos....hence the lighting and ambiance. A perfect 5 stars my friend. :)

  • Thanks for the shoutout, Verdegrand! It means a lot to me!

Congrats on using Synthogy. I think your playing has definitely expanded in terms of voicing and velocity/note volume. For example, I hear what parts you want to voice (when you want to play the treble melodies, or if you want the middle voices to stand out).

It's such a shame not to feel the emotion that you feel because of not having played FFX. Hopefully someday I could look back at this video and think, "Oh, that's what he meant!".

  • @TehIshter whoops i had a typo. thanks again for helping me set this up, man. yeah it's noW possible to hear different voices more clearly. probably would make sense to set it up so that i can hear it in real time because that would allow more control, let's see. and yes, ffx is definitely worth a play :)

  • Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!, a new video!, i love Verdegrand's music!

  • Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!

  • Beautifully played~ I seriously got chills.

I felt like I was transported back in time to when I first heard this piece.

  • Very memorable piece... I look forward to that far future when you'll play the piano collections version

i may have missed the memo sometime back but what "exactly" happened with your hands? I know no more than something happened and you're currently attempting to rehabilitate them. Excuse me if this info is personal. I hope you take your time and give rest to your hands, accordingly.

  • @magicturbo9 hi, thanks i shall be looking forward to it too. i have been having a problem with my fingers since beginning of 2010, a nerve related issue, and it's not gotten better so far. i am now attempting rehab but it could very well take years and there is a real possibility it will never heal. let's see. thanks for your support.

  • Beautifully rendered V. Your lighting always catches my eye....at first I thought those candles were Deyas....

  • @Arrow9100kj what are deyas? i gotta look those up :) i love atmospheric lighting.

  • @Verdegrand Hehe, atmospheric lighting? You must be quite the romantic guy huh =P? Deyas are small clay pots that are filled with oil and a wick and lit during a festival known as Divali here in Trinidad and India and other places I assume. It is a Hindu religious event ^^

  • Hey verdegrand love your expressive playing. It's awesome as usual. I know about Tehlshter he's a awesome pianist as well. Btw are using the stupid i lok that's required. That i lok is damn irritating. What do you prefer Synthogy or Galaxy?

In synthogy is the sound produced on the spot as you play? i,m thinking of buying Galaxy piano because of that i lok.

Another question lol What do you prefer, the Yamaha sound or Steinway sound?

    Keep up the brilliance.

  • @kaputasri yes i am using the ilok and it is indeed stupid, it crashed my system numerous times, but what can i do, it's the industry standard so there is no way around it. i don't know much about those sample collections so i have no idea about galaxy, but i heard good things about it. at the moment i am not using ivory in real time, i guess my harddrive isn't fast enough for that. and so far i have preferred the steinway sound over both yamaha and boesendorfer, but i am still new to this.

  • Please, please. Make more videos again. I miss your great music skills so much. I wish you the best! :)

  • @ayw9898 t hank you, i'll do my best

  • Perfect. Simply amazing. You are beyond trying to get the notes perfectly like others (which you do, nonetheless) and also capture the feeling of each piece you perform. That is what I call a true musician. Music is all about expressing ourselves :)

Final Fantasy X is my favorite game of all time, and this one is one of my favorite tracks from the OST. I'm always fond of piano pieces, but this one is among my favorites from the series

Thanks for sharing the wonderful performance!

  • @ferdk16 thanks man, i highly appreciate this, coming from you :)

  • Beautiful atmosphere. Takes me back. I can tell you understand the emotion portrayed by Uematsu from the way you play this piece.

  • Absolutely amazing. I love this song, and always have. Want to learn it, but I'm currently working on other projects =/. You played it perfectly, and captured the moment in the game, which as like you said was unforgettable. Bravo.
