Thumbs up if you think SCE Liverpool should do a 20th anniversary in 2015 which includes all Wipeout tracks, all Wipeout tunes and all Wipeout Teams/Ships that have ever been in any Wipeout game.

Also add a story to the tournament and make the vehicles customisable. Would be ace if one of the pilots of Wipeout 2097 was the son of one of the pilots in the original Wipeout game. Little things like that give the game more depth. It would be awesome!

You saw a blu-Ray case right? That's the full game, WipEout HD + WipEout HD Fury. There won't be any need to connect to the internet.

However in the PlayStation Store you have to buy both separately.

@man0verboard It depends on what you like, i own both infamous and lbp and infamous is a really fun game beat it a couple of times even if it sometimes feels like you are doing the same thing over and over but its not like that the whole game through. I have played Wipeout on Nintendo 64 ^^ I only remember it was really hard, but if you like racing game get this one and if you like platform/adventure game get Lbp and if you decide to buy lbp2 you can use every item you collected from lbp1.

WipeOut was released in 1995. Since then the franchise has seen many releases across PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Saturn, PlayStation 2, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation 3.

However, since Psygnosis has closed, some developers split up. Nick Burcombe went to Curly Monsters and made Quantum Redshift.

That happened around the year 2000. Nick was a developer for WipeOut, and since there apparently was some dissent between him and the others regarding where the WipeOut franchise should go, he decided to go his own way and make his own game.

But the other devs stuck together and kept on making WipEout games, and WipEout Fusion was released in 2002 on the PS2. Then, the remaining team of Psygnosis was renamed to Studio Liverpool.

In the story of WipEout PurE, all the tracks were located on the island of Makana. However, while this hasn't been officially retconned in the backstory, I and others like to think that the tracks are spread out around the globe. So their theoretical locations would be as follow.

Vineta-K: Germany/Coast of the Baltic Sea

Anulpha Pass: Makana Island/Purpose built complex

Moa Therma: Offshore Sicily

Metropia: Kyoto, Japan

Chengou Project: Chengou, province of Henan, China
