Poor Dracula. Had so much gold he didn't know where to put it, so he just build a portion of his castle with it.

Also; I used to look real close at these graphix and apply it in Mario Paint. This is where I learned how to make 16 bit gold! Bazam!

And after this it went anime & had us play with Alucard, whilst adding the Metroid map feature. I was so dissapointed when I got my hands on SOTH & it wasn't an awesome new 3D Castlevania experience. I still like the game, but Super Castlevania IV is the greatest. And 1 & 2 on the NES are awesome as well. Serious nostalgia with Castles 1. I miss the olde days.. :<

After playing through the first Castlevania, I found this one to be easy. I've been playing C4 with a keyboard through emulation. I did have an SNES but I sold it back in '93.

@BlaizeTheDragon If I knew where console gaming was headed, I probably would've kept it. Now it's just blood and guts and I'm tired of seeing the same M rated garbage over and over. This is why I've turned to emulation and PC gaming. I do have several arcade JAMMA boards and a few cabinets from the late 80's-early 90's.

@BlaizeTheDragon If games like this were the same now as they were back then but with modern visuals, I'd still own a Nintendo console. Castlevania use to be awesome, up until the Belmont family went from armored warriors to purple tuxedo wearing anime fruits. The Snes was a balance of great visuals with great developer support and original titles. Since the Snes none of their consoles had this and as far as I'm concerned, the golden age of console gaming is gone.

I have a problem at the part, where you have to hook on those two rings to get across the room (it start at 2:27). In my version, the chain is shorter than in the video and I can't jump from the other ring to the platform. What could be the problem?

Because they're so weak. The cross is much stronger, AND has the opportunity to hit the enemy twice.

I was supposed to kill him with holy water because you can stun him but i decided to use the cross and it worked.

cross is definitely one of my favorite weapons

Lol 1:54 is so hard. Even for an experienced classic CV gamer. This one was prolly my favorite. Had such good controls, (controlled jumps in midair, whip), music, and the vibe/atmosphere was solid. Everything about this game was great. They need to make more games like this and SOTN.

I agree, but eventually I figured out you could just wave your wip around like a mad man and kill him before he can knock you off the cliff. That's the easiest way for me, but not as stylish as this posters method.

The "wind tunnel" serves as the entrance and exit, you simply have to let it suck you in and you exit the room.
