When it comes to eighties music, you really can't sing it right without that popular eighties style beat. I think the band is playing it way to smoothed out. I think you have to be a lot more snapper on the beat and have more of a swing feel. I think the main riff of the song needs to be brought out more, I barely heard it a few times. It's hard to cover the eighties without that snap style beat made famous by the tr-808. just think 808 and you'll get it.
