  • also have this exhaust on a 2011 wrx hatch..no drone at all...love it

  • Sounds godly!

  • I have this exhaust, and it drones quite a bit, I am selling it for the CNT, while its louder than the magnaflow, the resonator helps cancel out the drone, the magnaflow relies all on muffler packing.

  • Car sounds great but i hear a lot of Magnaflow owners complaining about drone. I've got an '11 that I'm thinking about putting a magnaflo on. Any drone at 70-80 or while maintaining speed at say 40?

  • @w0123478 - I think you'll get some drone with just about every aftermarket exhaust. I personally didn't notice any substantial drone. None of my friends riding in the car ever said that they heard it either. But i might be less sensitive to it, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I really enjoyed my magnaflow. Nice deep sound and it left me lots of money to put in speed mods.

  • @DrivesLikeAGirl sorry if i sound like a faggot but what is drone?

  • @TheDynoSoar - ghey..lol j/k.. Drone is just a sound that you hear in the cabin at certain RPMs. My best description would be, imagine you're blowing across the top of a glass coke bottle. You don't hear anything if you're blowing at the right angle, but if you change the angle just right, you'll hear a high pitched noise... That's drone.

  • @DrivesLikeAGirl thanks, sorry i only know so much about cars :p

  • @w0123478 if it is you could get some sound deadener

  • Sounds perfect. Do you have a link to that specific exhaust? Which one is it exactly? Might get this one for my 11 STI.

  • @Bluesilentpro - Just go to PlanetMagnaflow , it's part number 16824. Should fit right on your 11'. I didn't order it directly from them, but from a distributor. You can get a good price on them if you shop around. Good luck!

  • @DrivesLikeAGirl

    Thanks a lot!

  • sounds perfect

  • I want some noise for my 2011 did you lose power with the exhaust added on.

I tried a intake and lost power that's why Iam asking

  • @zoneracer -- is the intake the first mod you did to your STI? An intake alone won't improve horsepower. Adding a catback exhaust will add hp and torque. Do the exhaust first, then get yourself a Cobb Accessport. You can then flash your car to a Stage 1 (12% hp increase). Then invest in a nice down pipe (i prefer catted), then flash your Cobb to a Stage 2 (14%hp increase). If you really want to have a cold air intake, take it to a Pro Tuner and have it custom Tuned. Best of luck!

  • @DrivesLikeAGirl thanks my only problem with the tuning I think it mite void the Warranty..

yes the intake was the first mod I notice a power lost so I put the stock back in.

not really looking for power the car is just to quiet for me. this will be my family car. I have another car I can play with..

  • @zoneracer -- I'd definitely recommend just the exhaust then. It will give you the sound that you want. Also get a K&N drop in air filter, and remove your intake silencer. You'll get more power with both mods and you'll also hear your Bypass Valve (if you like the sound). If you decide you want more power, get a Cobb Accessport and flash a Stage1, you can flash it back to stock whenever you need to take it in for service.

  • @DrivesLikeAGirl Most times a performance intake will actually do nothing, since they are tuned to give the most benefits above 5000rpm or close to wide open throttle. The average person doesn't rip around the streets constantly above 5000rpm, and the stock air box is typically more than enough to handle the volume of air under normal conditions. So they end up wasting $500 on something that will rarely if ever give you any benefits at all, especially without an ECU tune like you mention.

  • @SkeksisRule depends on car make. for example the g8 gt most cai will bump ur hp up at least a little. but it mostly increases fuel mileage.

  • invidia? wow, that's very high quality stuff. you sir have good taste. that should be a fine piece to add on.

  • buy the COBB Access Port and tune it right away before Mods. accessport can turn up the boost in stages safely.

  • @TheGraveShifter -- Agreed!, i'm now currently running Invidia Catted downpipe with the Cobb 91 Octane Stage 2 map. I know i don't need a cold air intake, but once I get one, i'll get it protuned.
