  • AWESOME.

  • It's cool to see that Randy Savage already had his look established before he even came to the WWF. The tights, the boots, the robe, everything was already in place. All that was missing was the sun glasses (and Elizabeth of course).

  • The Batten Studs suffer so damn beautifully!!!

  • i recall the battens from 1983. great jobbers. also remember rookie randy poffo (before he was savage), so sleek and hot, being put to sleep by a heel. the camera was tight in on randy's head and chest. stunning. randy still had short hair.

  • Am I the only guy that notices the swastika on Dr. D's shirt?

  • what year was this and what orginization is this

  • @RaymonRoss777 Memphis, couldn't tell you the year.

  • @RaymonRoss777 Memphis early 85.

  • good match

  • Savage & Schultz make for a badass tag team. I never knew that these 2 teamed together.

  • Tux Newman (aka. Jeff Walton) was a key figure in the Los Angeles wrestling scene for years. He did the interviews and put the programs together for the LaBelles. He later would bring the Tux Newman character to the, thankfully, short lived California Championship Wrestling promotion.

  • Memphis was always an NWA affiliate, but they didn't have a whole lot of political pull with the alliance, so they mainly worked with the AWA.

And I agree that David Schultz is a douchebag and a disgusting person. Look for his Morton Downey appearance on youtube.

  • I'd hardly call Schultz a douchebag. It has been said that he was the precursor to "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

All anyone seems to reference him with is the 20/20 incident. That's a shame because he was a helluva wrestler.

  • It's too bad that douchebag David Schulz is in this video. He's a disgusting person.

  • This is about 1984 I believe in. Memphis. Mid-Southern/Mid America was an unofficial NWA Member. At one point they were an official member, in the late 70's, but I am not sure for how long? They generally worked more with the AWA, which sounds strange.

  • When was this filmed?

  • Great squash match and postmatch beatdown. I miss the days when the heel could drag the jobber right into the crowd and slam him between the audience members feet.

  • Absolutely awesome!!!!!
