Nice filming. UP will always have to use this route at least some of the time due to the excessive snow at Donner Pass. This route is far lower in elavation than Donner.
I'm waiting for fall and the leaves to change color to do a driving trip from Chico to Reno in a month. That is the best time to view this beautiful canyon.
Excellent video. The work of real professionals. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Your American railways are so much bigger and more interesting than those here in Australia. Although the private rails in the Pilbara (in north west Australia) where the massive reserves of iron ore are located, are very impressive.
Great video, very well done. Loved your angle at the Williams Loop. I have seen several videos from that location, and none had the angle you chose. 5 stars!
UP used DPUs on the Feather River line, and that was one of them. DPU = Distributed Power Unit, an unmanned helper controlled by the head-end engineer.
Beautiful scenery and nice train footage. I gave 5*'s and a favorite. Also, love the sound of the train. Woman railfan here, been that way since childhood.
No longer a rumor. Saw a double stack on track one at Weimar on it's way to Donner last Saturday. My son took a video of it with his iPhone. See cmofo123's video of "UP going the wrong way" in my friend list for footage.
It's close enough to the horseshoe at James that people are forced to choose between there and the shared bridge, and they usually choose to take the shot at James, so it's a location not often photographed or videotaped.
great video, very nice

I'm sure you already know, but it's the same train for all the locations.

Yes, I thought so. I just could not make out the numbers for the locomotives.
Nice job. Keep up the good work.

Was the GEVO that was near the end of the train, was it a dead move or was it being used as a helper?

Those trestles and bridges still amaze me that they can withstand all that weight from constant freight use! Awesome video!
