The single most basic function of a State is to protect the lives and property of its people. The fact that the government is NOT doing this, for fear that the unrest will instead focus on its own failures, is a fundamental breakdown in the social contract between the State and the people. The little bit of profit the government does get, typically 10 - 20%, is administered by a self-proclaimed thatcherite, Mr. Mbeki. But the immigrants are taking all the jobs! Ehhhhhhhh, wrong!
