  • two blokes, been on tv for a bit, make a british film and no1 goes to see it.....lesbian vampire killers any1?

  • the first 30 seconds convinced me it was gonna be a porn shoot

  • Rick and Steve as a couple of mismatched cops... yep, I'd watch the shit out of it.

  • More like face to middle of chest. Steve Merchant is a giant.

  • @terataratotrum You are so clever and witty

  • think rickys humour always comes out alot better when he is with stephen and karl, he always seems more reserved on american shows

  • I just realized Ricky is 50!...He looks great

  • ricky looks like such a short little shit here

  • wtf is the teen crap that keep jumping in and out???

  • @cbmtrx it's a preview of the movie cemetary junction

  • Did you get the two white trampolines as the backdrop that I ordered aswell?

  • I heard this movie sucked.

  • ooooooh chimpanzee that!

  • Thanks for uploading this, love these guys!

  • cemetery junction sucked big time

  • @TomValedro You're joking right? I though it was very good. Especially for a first attempt at film work.

  • @baldwin471 its cos its different from his other work that he thinks that, anything that Gervais and/or Merchant do, I automatically love it =D

  • WHEATLY!!

  • @Ilikesifsif shame on you for only knowing one of britain's best comedians and writers, through a video game.

  • @TheNameIsntSam I've got no problem with them discovering the works of Merchant/Gervais but I do have a problem when they keep bringing up the name of some robot on a video game on every video Merchant is in. WHEATLY!!!!!! On every fucking video. So annoying.

  • @iloveneytiri actually, you're right. anyone finding the duo is a plus. but STFU with the WHEATLY already.

  • and now youve got to clean that up

  • a buddy cop movie with these two would be GOLDEN!

  • CONGRESS TART

  • im so glad im not american.

  • @HealthyWildlife All The Young Dudes

  • stephen should have gotten a bafta for his extras part...

  • This is really inspiring to me

  • @DuelingEnthusiast Karl was a producer on XFM which was way, way, way back

  • "...and that became the most successful British sitcom of all time."

    *high five*

    hahahah

  • Gervais+Merchant Buddy Cop Film

  • @DuelingEnthusiast they knew karl since 99 so no.

  • @DuelingEnthusiast I don't think this interview was before they met karl because Ricky looks like he does in idiot abroad 2

  • :L love the rice crispie thing :L the balloon pops rice crispies everywhere steve '-.- and now you've got to clean it up' thats such a quick comment! love it!

  • shite film like shame

  • Steve your so dry LOL

  • and somewhere out there Karl had a head like a fucking orange

  • i cant for the life of me remember the name of the song at the start can anyone help????????

  • @DHDecker all the young dudes by david bowie

  • @osulmj03 Thanks Muchly

  • crap film, sorry. love everything else they do. but no more sappy phoney movies with boring characters.

  • is Gervais Merchants dad?

  • @CopyriteInfringement No.They're just friends. Besides, the age gap between them is 13 years.

  • @allana221 so biologically Gervais could be Merchants dad then.

  • stephen has definately moved and touched me with his beautiful voice and way of making me laugh.

  • I thought Cemetery Junction was a really good film. They did a great job. Why everyone thought it was an all out comedy even when they said it was a hundred times I don't know.

  • make the police series jezzock

  • the movie wasn't bad, it wasn't good either... but what it created was this, and this is good, very good.

  • Atlas and Peabody O:

  • big fan but thought cemetery junction was piss poor.

  • ricky gervais is a legend, stephen merchant is a comedy genius and karl pilkington is funnier than both of them :D

  • @WILLYUMZZZ Honestly, Ricky would have this quote engraved

  • stephen merchant looks at ricky gervais, like thank fuck i met you, you've made me very rich!!!!!!!!

  • @westha1233 Think its very much the other way round :|

  • @wadeanddave i don't remember stephen merchant starring (albeit a brief cameo role) in the "office" though i know he was one of the writers with ricky gervais. i love them both anyway, but hate an idiot abroad!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 4:00 that has to be the best high five in RECORDED history

  • They're both funny men, but wouldn't go and see the movie.

  • @ProtestantsRUs I highly recommend it. Even if you watch it online, it's better than I thought it would be. It's not laugh out loud funny, and it's more story and drama driven, but it's definitely a worthwhile watch.

  • congress tart

  • I've just watched the film Cemetery Junction, in a certain point of the film there's a big poster where it was written: Buy a Whitley House.

Now that's really funny, because Smerch is Wheatley in Portal 2.

    I love these guys.

  • @DjSugarKitty95

    ... :P

  • i cant imagine this working with anyone other than a comedy partnership (a good one!) . its a bloody awful set up!

  • love ricky and steve but this film is deffo the worst thing they have done. thought it was boring and clichéd.

  • @DjNicksy85 this film is all about cliché

  • @derHantiel Explain?

  • WHEATLEY

  • I freaking love Wallace and Gromit! I mean, Stephen and Ricky!!!

  • GO TEAM WHEATLEY

  • I literally cant get enough of these guys. Throw in Karl Pilkington and now Warrick Davis and my GOD!! Fucking comedy gold! :D

  • i don't get why Ricky does all these shit films... Spy Kids, Invention of Lying etc.. all of them are so beneath him! Same goes for Smerch.

  • @chaosinorderrr Portal 2 was a good game.

  • @WhyDidIJustEatThat i was talking about movies not games.

  • @chaosinorderrr I thought "Invention of Lying was brilliant!" Ricky did Spy kids just for the money, and Stephen did Hall pass because it was an opportunity to get his name out in Hollywood. (No one is making any good films these days, even huge stars are now doing T.V. shows. No one goes to the theater any longer, it's too expensive when they can have movies delivered to their own home for 8 bucks a month.) I went to the theater last weekend and it cost me 30 bucks just for the tickects!

  • @Furkin44 Inventiohn of Lying was brilliant? really now? its the same as Ghost Town... some high concept bullshit plot with a broad comedic script.... the exact opposite thing that we've come to love Ricky for doing (Office, Extras). i expect these films from the Adam Sandlers and Ben Stillers of the world to do, not Gervais. come on now. i don't have much problem with Smerch doing those films because all of them were mainly cameos. but with Ricky its a completely different thing.

  • @Furkin44 if it weren't for the money, why the hell would you make a movie? ppl don't care if u're trying to say something with the movie, and besides, how the hell would you pay for it all if it weren't for the money? It's all about the money, always been since it was invented.

  • @FurnaceMastaah Please stay out of this conversation, you're not intellectually qualified.

  • @Furkin44 I'm sorry, who are you? Think I missed your pointless comment, mate.

  • @chaosinorderrr So true. Did you like Cemetery Junction? I almost didn't see it because I've got so used to Ricky acting in shit films. Ghost Town, Invention of Lying etc.

  • @PermissionToCum ghost town was a very good film, invention of lying not as much, but still not shit.

  • @PermissionToCum Cemetry Junction was really good. Good story, good actors! But I agree with you about Ghost TOwn and Invention of Lying.!

  • 1:45 "His eyes bulging with imagined riches"

  • I am not a moron!

  • Awh, i love them :)

  • "Incidentally, have you cleaned your room?"

  • this film got disappointingly average reviews, when its such an amazing film!

  • I demand to see that "mismatched cops" film. Even better, Karl and Steve as the partners, with Ricky the annoying boss.

  • bunch of fans keen to see us as a pair of mismatched cops. That sounds fucking amazing

  • Steve's quite dashing, isn't he?

  • @SharksKid You mean he can dash quite well with those freakishly long legs?

  • @SharksKid gayyyyyyy

  • "while both are comedy fixtures in front of the camera, do they also have what it takes to tickle funny bones from behind it." did he not research them before? what a twat

  • oh dear god i love them

  • Stephen's adorable.

Sorry to be the weird one, but nobody was saying it.

  • @88FingersEddward Stephen IS adorable. He really is. :3

  • @88FingersEddward It's like Stephen Merchant is looking more and more like Ewan McGregor every day, and vice versa, until one day they'll meet in the middle ^_^ Mrow.

  • I'm so glad Stephen's CV was on the top of the pile :)

  • @JodLM90 imagine if it hadnt

  • Merhcant is 13 years younger than Gervas? Never knew that....

  • LOVE the hi5 at 4:00 :)

  • Los amo. (I love them)

  • it was a shit film.

  • @o0steventon0o I disagree. Wholeheartedly disagree. It was brilliant. Bought the DVD and hope they release a blu-ray version. Most of the reviews from viewers were upset because they grew up in small shit towns like Cemetery Junction. Most of them were twats, as well. Not saying you're a twat... everyone is entitled to an opinion.

  • @BlueMoonz55 i'd imagine so; most of the UK live in shitty small towns that aren't even on the national weather map.

  • @BS4Tactful Still, no reason to be upset while watching a movie, then proclaiming it a shit film. I mean, honestly, the only complaint I would have is that the Idea has been done before, but they tell you right away its a used up plot. Their spin on it is fantastic. It's one of my favourite films in the category.

  • @BlueMoonz55 I haven't seen it, I'll get round to watching it eventually. The casting was brilliant though; i saw the main guy in a channel 4 commissioned 4-part drama series called The Promise, he was exceptional.

  • did anyone go to see the film>?

  • Jellyfish, Do we need em?

  • You can see in Steve's eyes he wants to knock Ricky unconscious with his awards, steal them, then run

  • Kinda cool that Ricky started his show biz career in a new wave rock band in the early 1980's...

  • Bald...Manc....Twat.

  • Not one dislike, The world is as it should be.

  • @shanustheanus You realise that making comments like that means that the video will inevitably get a dislike.

  • @Kullg4r ahh but by people who think along similar lines as you my friend.

But to be honest I don't really care, I just thought it was worth mentioning that nobody had clicked on 'dislike'.

If they do click it, it doesn't matter.

  • Portal 2

  • Merchant always reminded me of Wallace from Wallace & Gromit

  • What's the name of the song at the begining?

  • @krone900 all the young dudes

  • @eraepsekas

Thanks, at first I thought you were joking when you said it was called "All The Young Dudes," lol. I've heard the song befoore, I just never knew the name of it.

  • @krone900 :)

  • JUXTAPOSITION RECORDS FOR THE WIN!!!

  • Remember the word OFFICE!

  • he,i watched this movie 5 times in webmovietube..thank u

  • He filled a big balloon with rice krispies. I love ricky Gervais for that. XD

I can understand Steve here, I've always been mentally old. That response is awesome.

  • Thank goodness for Stephen Merchant

  • 0:55 wonderful smile!.. and they call him a lanky goggle-eyed freak! the nerve!

  • Comment removed

  • what movie did they make anyone plz??

  • @Kyriakoscash the voice over says it in his first line

  • anybody know what the first song is called? the one with the guitar solo

  • @brevigz

That's "All the Young Dudes" by Mott the Hoople. David Bowie wrote it and gave it to Mott, who put it out in 1972. It shows up again during the movie clip at 1:20.

  • @KatManDude thanks mate! appreciate it.

  • I like how he references Rebel without a cause as a feel good movie lol.

  • Lego them and come have your dinner

  • I love how rebellious they are to default standards in tele and media. Whenever they do interviews (the myspace one springs to mind, and Ricky's Letterman appearances) they always deconstruct the paradigm of the actual interview, instead of just turning up and plugging stuff (which they also parody).

Kinda shows why The Office was genre-redefining really :)

  • "thanks mate"

    "ha hHAA"

  • maaaars bar bar bar

  • best best ricky/smerch interview ever.

  • fuckin superstars man.

  • @jkeylor lol they dont act that way at all

  • this is one of the best gervais/merchant interview.

  • A couple of mismatched cops? That is the film I want to see.

  • This is every so slightly romantic

  • The key to comedy genius appears to be touching your beard.

  • pretty boys. I don't want to see a film populated by pretty boys. I'm surprised they'd submit to that.

  • @gammarod Three unknown actors, two of which may be considered attractive and that's the reason you won't watch it? Your loss..

  • Its weird to see them actually talking to each other directly.

  • manmoth?!

  • @movaks a man moth??

  • @movaks hahhah man it gets me every time hahahahha

  • I love that they're talking to each other as though they are telling their own "love story" all looking lovingly into each other's eyes....needs a backdrop soundtrack...songs for lovers...maybe "Just The Two of Us"...or walking off the scene together down the street or on a beach holding hands to the Love Story theme song.

  • @LovelyBollocks and then karl comes along and ricky falls for karl and steve is jealous and tries to shave his head and act stupid like karl but this just puts off ricky and they part and during the time they live their separate lives they realize what drew them together in the first place and while they try to make up later, ricky apologizes and produces a ring which steve accepts and karl becomes their best man for their wedding. story is titled notting hill 2 (a la brokeback mountain)pathetic

  • "And now you've gotta clean it up ..." Brilliant

  • they're great! if the movie is anything like the extras xmas special it will be great
