Keep your thumb at a 90 degree angle to your wrist and hit with the bone in your thumb, try and get above the very bottom of the fingerboard, there's no shortcut, you just have to keep practicing.

you forget about everyone else and try come up with your own way of playing things. He's good but so long as he replicates the techniques of those that preceded him such as Victor Wooten he'll only ever be in their shadow. Composition is where true respect for a person talents lie. Anyone can imitate if they practice over and over and over. Some people take less some take more practice. Never forget that playing an instrument is an outlet for your expression.

well simply making a nice sound on a instrument doesnt mean that you particularly amazing at it, for instance hysteria by muse, sounds kinda complicated and well epic but in the end its really easy to play, same as with bombtrack by rage against the machine, sounds complicaded but isint, now im not saying he not gd he is, just not as good as you may think, cause if you get slapping sounding right i.e. the right techninque playing just 4 tripplets sounds epic even tho its easy

I understand because he's mimicking someone else's playing, it's based completely on performance, and if its easy, making it sound good doesn't come hard. But I still want to differentiate playing good and playing difficult. All of Jonny Greenwood's guitar playing could be mimicked by a player with two or three years of experience, but he's still regarded as a great musician because of what he's able to create. I see exactly where you're coming from when it's only playing though.
