It's really not that hard for a beagle to look fat as hell. Despite being totally food obsessed, their muscle mass just happens to build in places that make them look chunky. My beagle looks like a little porker sometimes, but you can feel him and tell it's all muscle, he's strong (:

shouldn't be fat or plump, and arthritis isn't an excuse....if they're not as mobile because of arthritis you cut down on their food. Shocking to see a dog that should be a very fit hunting dog like this....and by the way, they're both fat, not just one of them!

I have beagles. One of mine are the size of your dogs and the others are smaller. Best dogs everrr! Funny thing is..when their barking, without looking, I can tell them apart lol.

i can tell mine apart too! the fat one, Porter, has a low loud one, and the darker one, Polly, has a VERY loud one at a higher pitch, THESE aren't the best dogs eva, but my first beagle, a pure bred named lizzie lived to be 15 years old, SHE was the best dog ever!

both of them can't have a thyroid problem. I dont mean this in an offensive way at all. But i think your dogs need to lose a few lbs. I have a beagle and i know so much about this breed, they can't be overweight their joints and back really suffer. You should be able to see a distinct waistline in a healthy sized beagle

your dog doesnt have to be a beagle for weight to affect their joints and back. read some literature weight generally affects joints, locomotion, heart, and other things. also excess fat irritates the thyroid problem. and btw theyre both fat.

My beagle is 7 and we adopted her from a shelter...she has almost the same bark and howl as ur beagles...i love when she trys to cuaght the squirls and bunnies in our yard cuz u can tell she is loving it lol

we're not sure, because the shelter found them on the street, and it was pretty obvious they have been living on the street 4 awhile, and so we think they're about 6-7, now.
