Generally speaking, from Burma to Thailand to Laos to Vietnam to Cambodia... down to Malaysia, Singapore, & Indonesia are the countries of South EAST Asia. South Asia, on the other hand, is referred to as the region from west of Burma to Pakistan, Afghanistan, and even Iran... The giant orangutans come from the southern most part of Southeast Asia. From western Iran to eastern Indonesia is more than the distance from San Diego, the USA, to London, England...

Sumatran Orangutans are funny and I think they know it. They're pretty friendly too. I prefer them to their Bornean counterparts. I hope this species survive. I would want my children to know these amazing apes.
