The fact that I felt that I needed to be high to watch and listen to this. No one knows good music anymore. This woman had to tone, her pitch was terrible. This shit sucked.
Thank you for posting this video; I've longed to see it following it's ban from T.V. years ago. I bought and loved the disc way back. Pandora's box deserved chart success and commercial recognition with this amazing and original version. Sounds great even now. Instead Celine's version got the radio exposure and became a chart hit. Such is life.
SOOO much better than that hypocrite ugly bitch Celine Dion! THANK YOU PANDORA'S BOX, YOU SAVED MY LIFE! I almost liked a song from Celine Dion! But this is the original yihaaa!
@rdragon88 Actually four years prior to this video Laura Brannigan's "Self Control" was the first "banned" R rated video i remember. Surprisingly tame now but pretty racy for 1984. PS I worked for MTV Public relations starting in 1988. So I remember a lot....
I vaguely remember the name Pandora's Box, but didn't know Elaine Caswell was part of this. I only knew her as a vocalist(with Ellen Foley) on Joe Jackson's "Body and Soul" album. Close one for Elaine. Best effort of her career, but unsung, no pun intended.
Funny how one can aurally recall different versions of a great song such as this but having never seen the videos - well : ) different visuals connote different 'meanings'. to words
I still like this original vocalist the best - strong and soulful (all of them are great)
Not sure if it was R rated or not, but I do remember hearing somewhere that the video was actually banned in some countries. Pandora's Box was fabulous, but a shame they only had the one album.
classic!

Why is everyone talking about Celine Dion's version? Meat Loaf's version is the first one that I think of when I think of this song.

was this directed by Ken Russell? it's remarkably similar to his sequence in the film "Aria"

the extra verse ("there were those empty threats and hollow lies...") should have been another Girl solo in Meat Loaf's version...

Well, the one and only real version of this song. Elaine beats the shit out of Celine and Meat with this! SHE owns this song. And the guitar...!
One of Jim´s unrecognized masterpieces.

@deadringer4love not really. She only bats Meatloaf, but not Celine. Celine is a goddess.
