  • Hey there. I know It's been 3 years since you last updated this, but will you eventually finish this version as well? Also is there any possibility of a linux port?

Tks for all the effort put on this, anyway. This project is great.

  • @ElMariachi99 Yes, i'm working on an applet release (inside browser). It completely OS Independant (Win, Unix, Mac, x86 & x64)

    You can check the alpha release here: b3dgs.com /v5/ projects/lionheart_remake/ java/game/ index.html

  • @ThunderdomeXVII looking very good so far! Will there be a downloadable version including the map editor and the mod support of the previous versions? I would love to create my own levels and sprites for this. You should try submitting your java version here: happypenguin(dot)org . I'm sure linux gamers will be thrilled to play a platformer of this quality without resorting to emulators.

    All the best

  • @ElMariachi99 Yes for sure, distributed as a simple *.jar + ressources folder + launcher (game, map editor)

I'm making the level editor as simple as possible (just working with mouse click and selection)

Anyway, I will update my website when it will be done !

  • @ThunderdomeXVII That sounds great! I can't wait for this release. In the meantime I guess I'll play the older versions and attempt to create a new spritesheet for Valdyn. One small suggestion to improve the game though: the original Lionheart was often frustrating because the player was frequently forced to take a lot of blind jumps; it would be nice if you could look down on what's below by crouching and holding down for a bit. A lot of platformers do this nowadays.

  • Very Well done. I am currently working on an adaption of Mega Man programmed purely in DB Pro. You definitely are right about collision detection being difficult as well as level creation. I will need to get started on a level editor asap if I am ever to finish.
