@metallicarules53 Not just saying this cause im watching this vid, but Layne by far thee best voice in Rock n Roll history.Do you think drugs and a broken heart was why he lost his will to live or was it a combination of other things??
a photo from 97 shows layne after the grammy nomination for "AGAIN" he looked happy, but had no meat on his face, had bags under his eyes, and was pale. I'm trying to find a 1999 photo i have heard about.
@RamonesSkater4life I've read that he was thinking of recording a solo album at the time. Would've loved to have heard what he might've layed down for that.
@GotMeWrong1984 yea. That would have had more success than Jerry's solo career I think. I don't know why it never happened. It would have been great. I am trying to find more photos and i hope to find one. I save them to my computer so i'll never lose them.
@RamonesSkater4life I think it was the same reason he didn't get back with AIC (except for the new stuff for Music Bank) he just couldn't get his life straightened out. I think part was the death of his ex-fiance Demri, part his own drug problems, and probably some contract issues as well. Then again who knows :) I'm interested in the same stuff you're looking for, I'll share anything I find with you.
@GotMeWrong1984 Great! Yea he pretty much let go wher Demri died. In 96, it was almost or already too far to get clean. His posture and stage presence change. If his father didn't show up when Layne became famous, maybe Layne could be here to this very day. Layne started drugs with his father. It's fucked up that his dad is still alive but Layne had to die. Yea lets share things that are hard to find. I would love to find more photos from his isolation period.
This incarnation of the band can never be replicated, but we should still all support the guys for coming back as any good music today will be greatly appreciated. RIP Layne.
I saw them here in the midwest in October, 1993. They opened their set with this song. Layne had an awesome voice... JC is one of the best guitarists of the 90's. Thanks for sharing this. They are my favorite band of all-time.
Jesus christ, I can't believe how fucking awesome his voice was.
