As a army infantryman who has fought in afghanistan i can tell everyone that the repeal of dont ask dont tell will be horrable for gays serving in combat units. They should of just kept the old policy. I have seen it personally what happens when a combat unit discovers a homosexual among them and unit combat readiness suffers because of it. Also the gay soldier becomes a outcast and at times there safety is at risk.

But if the gay or lesbian soldier does not tell anyone they are homosexual and does not let it effect their job then there is no problems from either side. Sechyolar, let me tell you something... One of my best friends is gay. I was friends with him for 10 years before he told me he was gay. I did not know it until then. He does not go around talking about it and that is how it should be in the military too.
