  • Father forgive me for my lack of compassion and the suffering i have caused, teach me to love as you Love including myself

  • inspired.

  • The Charter for Compassion is truly inspired. It is something every individual should choose to live by.

  • EASTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY'S Charter of Compassion!

    Please check it out

  • The world needs more messages like this!

  • a lot of those people are white...

  • Not one brown guy.

  • @DirtyPersianGuy Hi, how closely did you watch this. I see black, white, brown and yellow....

  • Bull shit- you an me are all sinners. God says our best deeds are like dirty rags to him. Get a clue people- we cannot do the impossible without GOD!

  • Whoa- hold on there- whilst slighting the Scripture and suggesting we can all get along which is not humanly possible because we can only do this when we come to the Saviour- this film is promoting new age transcendance which is a pagan religion in itself- the charters logo is the double helix and the term enlightenment goes with occult doctrine- so its really just a charter to bash Christianity.

  • "Speciesism is a form of discrimination - like sexism, racism, homophobia - and all discrimination is violence. Please reject all violence." - Gary L. Francione

  • You may think that forming a new one world religion that this would cancel out the flames of hell, but you will be mistaken. I would ask those who are putting this world religion together if they are going to call the scriptures that show us how Jesus died and endured the pain He went through for us as illegitimate?

  • The first sentence is not true. Not all religions practices revolve around compassion. We need to divorce compassion from religion and further extend it to other living creatures. We cannot restore something that it was not there in the first place. Otherwise, we will all have to embrace Jainism or Buddhism at the very least, in order for this to work as they are true religions of peace and compassion. Let's use reason and compassion!

  • To me, the defining moment(s) for conservative religion (Christianity), occurred during the early years of the AIDS epidemic, when they fiercely & successfully opposed the use of any public funds for HIV research & the development of effective treatment options. Thus, thousands were denied any chance at survival; simply because they see the disease as the punishment of their angry deity.

  • @MeepullStewray I am so, so sorry for the way that you have been treated. I know that there is nothing I can say that can take away the abuse that you have received at the hands of other religious people, and that I have never met you and cannot know what you have suffered. I have GAD/panic disorder, too, and I know how tough anxiety is. Please know that you are loved as much as one stranger can love another, and that there are those of us who are fighting for LGBT rights and recognition.

  • This makes me so angry. This is a lie. And tell me what religion is this? I'm a trans woman and I have NEVER felt 1 thing close to respect or compassion coming from the load of religious people around me. I've been psychically, verbally and mentally abused by these people. I now have an anxiety disorder. Congratulations ACTUAL religious people. This video is but a dream. Why do you need religion if you're this nice anyways. Just be nice for the sake of being nice.

  • Only if any religion could be this compassionate...

  • Beautiful!

  • why not just abandon the whole concept of religion?

actually it is the one main cause we believe "absolute GOOD and EVIL" which also fuels up armies!

because of it, we have forgotten that we are just lonely bastards wandering the universe on a blue planet and wait for some "higher power" to make it straight.

compassion is NOT the start but the END. If you are believing an after-life, you will NOT reach it.

because yours or others' lives will always be CHEAP compared to eternal life at heaven.

  • @rahantr1 I understand this is a very common belief, but that just makes it all the more important to refute it. Good and evil are not so clearly defined in all religions as they are in the Abrahamic religions. In fact, much polytheistic folklore plays around with the issue of unresolvable justice. Good and evil is a construct separable from belief.

And belief is helpful, believe it or not. Appreciation of a greater whole can inspire those who have nothing.

  • @monkeybahop As long as we are not talking about a pantheistic one, I don't think being a part of a greater whole is of religion actually.

Religion is the one thing that makes us forget we are part of humanity, nature. People thank god for food, pray for health, talk to him/her at night instead of thanking the farmers, workers, doctors, scientists and talking to your friends!

When you stick to your "almighty always loving imaginary friend", you turn your back to humanity; the greatest whole.

  • Is this supposed to be the preamble for a new country?

  • While I don't disagree with the video's message, the creators of it simply don't understand religions, especially those based on the Old Testament. It is full of hate and violence. If you follow one of those religions there is no other way to interpret it.

  • @IAmDriverDan Christians, Jews, & Muslims include the Old Testament in their beliefs. I'm not saying I support a literal interpretation of it. I'm saying that making an assumption that these believers are inherently hateful is ignorant and bias against them, which is uncompassionate. People who believe, "my way is the one and only right way" would usually not join an interfaith group like this. Using the Bible as metaphor is common and this message can be spread to all & we can hope for change.

  • Once you walk both paths, you will find the value of life, and respect for humans and all living this.

  • These comments indicate how much the world is really in need of compassion

  • This is a nice idea but will remain a pipe dream.

It wont work for me and others because there are people in this world that I would like to kick into an industrial meat-mincer. Therefore it would be hard to treat everyone with respect and compassion.

A simple test to illustrate. Imagine those of us of the left in the UK found Nick Griffin on their uppers and begging in the street. Would you help him or stick two fingers up at him as you walked on by? Lets see your measure of compassion.

  • this is a bunch of balls.

  • This is bullshit

  • Love all, Serve All and Help ever, Hurt never

  • XD BALLS.COM

  • damn...i thoguht i was the only one who found this at balls.com ......

  • Humans will never get along

  • @GhettoBlaster100 You said: "Humans will never get along". That's a self fulfilling prophesy. Whilst that statement is true as long as people think like you do, it doesn't always have to be this way. Look how far we've come. We jut need some positivity. Surely you would agree that people's lives would be greatly improved if we increased everyone's opportunities and worked together more, so do something about it. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

  • is that justin beiber 1:26

  • @JoanFisher When you go looking for such ideals, you'll surely find them. Treat everything in context. Have you even read Karen Armstrong's work and how brilliant an author she is and what her message is about. Ofcourse not. Suddenly this video is about socialism. Absurd to say the least, when it was made by an authour renowned for her religious knowledge.

  • This message is beautiful, and Karen Armstrong (the one who made this charter) is a brilliant person. If only the people who commented below could understand, instead of fighting. If only we could bring together this world instead of tearing it apart. I believe in Muhammad's, Moses's, Jesus's, Buddha's, Confucius's message. They all spoke about harmony. Why can't we?

  • Pro tip: get a better domain name than balls.com

  • Chauvinism? I think you mean feminazism.

  • Yawn, these people are misguided, the answer isn't compassion, compassion can be the greatest evil when it's directed at certain things. Misguided compassion has led to increase crime rates, because we're not being just and dealing with criminals properly, we're telling them that what they do is okay. These people need to go home.

  • Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

  • balls.com is just so dudes will watch this

  • I think they just used the biggest words they could find to make me feel retarded o:

Wait.. Saying retarded... i guess that goes against this video eh? ah well Fuck it.

  • I agree with the message of compassion. However, this video seems like some socialist utopian indoctrination video. Seems like these people have it out for religion too.

  • @padeekeez

And you hit the nail on the head. These same people have compassion towards criminals rather than justice; they fight for criminals "rights". Do not fall for their ideology, no matter how attractive it may sound.

  • I loved this video. I hope it is made in many languages so all people can hear this important message. A world with all people equal and peaceful, we as humans could advance socially and scientifically to a place of wonder and paradise.

  • i cant even tell what gender most of the people are

  • this video annoyed the fuck out of me for some reason

  • @rrryyyaaannnn

Because it's leftwing bullshit; it has deception through and through; it's asking men to castrate themselves, well fuck that, there are evil people and beliefs in this world that need taking down.

  • @AtheistTower You said it brother. the world will never be a foofoo lala land where everyone lives in harmony on clouds. I bet half these people are part of PETA too. but hey, to each their own.

  • thumbs up if you went to balls. com because you were bored

  • people are mean to me so everyone go home balls.com

  • like if u found this at balls.com

  • @Rafalman1 that is so great haha i was so bored and found this at balls.com

  • It's fulfilling and uplifting when you can see success in an ideal: reminds us of what is really important.

Karen Armstrong's related TED talk was fantastic.

  • It's fulfilling and uplifting when you can see success in an ideal: reminds us of what is really important.

  • balls.com ftw!

  • why balls.com?

  • balls.com

  • On the face of it, this message is positive and supports the right values regardless of beliefs. However, the call to transcend "selfishness" and to place compassion as the "center of the economy and a peaceful global community," is a call to utopian standards that create false comparisons, and advocates collectivist or centrally planned, controlled economies. These mindcrime approaches and "social justice" approaches do not end misery and create less freedom for the individual.

  • Balls.com also directed me here. I'm turning my life around :D

  • I find it strange that they said "it is necessary to ___ in public and private life" and then in nearly the same breath talk about denying freedoms for others.

Surely these are in direct conflict. What does it matter what I do or even say in private if I continue to allow people all freedoms?

Anyway - I agree with the overall concept, but think that it is first necessary to get the definitions and logic consistent and clear.

  • hahaha i looked up balls.com and this came up

  • One thing is for sure...These are not American Evangelical Christians!!

  • Compassion is part of the path to enlightenment, and waiting at the attainment of enlightenment is kindness.

  • i know i did

  • i think 233,240 + people also found this at balls.com LMAOOO

  • Why have over 200.000 people watched this video and only 70.000 affirmed the charter online?

  • i wanted scrotum pictures, this is not anything near that! give me my money back.

  • Hahaha! If you type "balls.com" all it that's on it is a link to this!

  • They have said so much in this video and still havn't said anything.

  • @zogb9166 This is incorrect. They've said plenty, you just need to listen to it with your heart, not your ears...

  • UH-Oh. If the world adopts this message, Islam is in trouble.

  • If you are searching for real spiritual informationTired of running endlessly looking for meaningful teachings?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature. The revolution from within, THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM

  • it does not matter if they are serious. waht the message is ..its just life :)

  • balls.com !!!!

  • balls.com ftw

  • Found it at balls.com. I was kind of disappointed at the lack of gay porn.

  • The most amazing piece I have ever seen.

  • I can just see the director. "ok.. next asian guy, then black woman, white kid, and white guy. Then another asian and a hispanic dude. Wow we are so PC".

  • @styrmirr86 They're just people. You're the one that's defining them by their ethnicity.

  • I have seen people confuse 'God" with their own egos. I have experience the despair that meaningless brings. I have had to acknowledge that my self-centeredness has brought suffering to myself & to those around me. And I have experienced the profound change that Karen encourages us to seek and discover through seeing myself & the world through the lens of compassion & thru practice and attention.

  • uhh... Sure i'm in.

  • being a good person is up to the individual, religion has nothing to do with it.

  • not for those who follow a religion explicitly

  • @bobswiv of course it does, blind following of sometimes hateful messages from a very young age is brainwashing by religion.

  • Maybe it's not possible to achieve the dream stated in this charter, but in an attempt to do so, many good things will happen.

  • @tacman103 most of us found this at balls.com so we cant take them seriously

  • @tacman most of us found this at balls.com so we cant take them seriously

  • i went to balls.com and got this????

  • it is an extremely honorable goal, however, humans are a sum of both good and evil emotions and I fear, that this is a dream that will never come to pass.

  • @kua514 that's deep man

  • Need to see what lies beneath? Is your quest for truth beginning to feel like running around in circles?intuition, healing powers, it is all part of human nature.Visit THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM where the change will begin.

  • cant wait until the trolls and flamers find this. It's sad what the internet has come to. nothing but passive aggressive trolling... umad! noob, nub, lawlzers! lawl that about sums it up

  • i typed 'Balls.com' in the URL and this popped up to me. lol!

  • Just go and read a book or two written by Karen Armstrong, then maybe we all can get past the chatter I see going on in these commentaries.

  • Wonderful message. I think they could improve it thought if their voices and facial expressions weren't quite so fierce. Perhaps a more gentle delivery....

  • Lol balls.com

  • This is wonderful.

  • all these people want BALLS? xD

  • 0:08 KILL IT!!! KILL IT WITH NUKES!!

  • balls

  • If only one would take the time to listen to the words and message without any other agenda but to hear.

Implementing this message into everyday life would make a world of difference.

  • Pagans.

  • as seen on balls.com

  • Bunch of commie propaganda.........

Love your enemy as yourself if the people that claimed to be Christians lived up to their

namesake than there would be no issue.

  • @legalizefreedom911

I don't think that they are promoting multiculturism; They mean what they say. It really is time that our species grew up. I dreamed about battles for weeks a few years ago not long after I got this computer and became very angry about the enemies of civilisation. Then the drams went and I would wake up with the word 'compassion' on my mind. I still get angry though, sometimes :-)

  • At Desteni we are proposing an EQUAL MONEY SYSTEM. It is a new world economic system which which operate on the principle of equality.

We are realists thus will push this point politically because at the moment we must work with the current system to bring forth a new system of change that actually "show compassion for others"

An Equal Money System is a Living Act of Compassion - After all compassion must be practically lived - otherwise just empty words.

    Investigate desteni and Equal Money

  • Hmmm, impressive recruit of ordinary people that make up our world. Anyone in this community also read 1 Corithians 13 (the full chapter). If you're reading a King James version, replace 'charity' with 'love' or 'compassion' if you will. Most modern English versions now translate charity to 'love.' Enjoy. It has been my charter: admitting the difficulty and remembering that love costs--otherwise you can't manifest something for nothing.

  • Here I will respond to people wondering why anyone would dislike this. Two reasons, its just common sense. Of course we should be compassionate. Now you have an organization where people will eventually need staff, salaries and a nice office. They will have to go to conferences, fly around the world and eat at nice restaurants.

People are cold, hungry and homeless in your own cities. Be compassionate, help someone out yourself.

No more layers of crap like this needed.

  • i just went on balls.com and found this. i can't really take this video seriously now....

  • To all supporters of The Charter of Compassion, please google The Venus Project. We are beyond politics, war and poverty - A realistic plan for a future world of global unity and compassion. Please join us as we have joined with you.

  • I just got bored so I wrote at the search bar "balls.com".... This is funny xD

  • BALLS!

  • Religious people do absolutely nothing in this vid.

  • this makes me so hopeful..you made my day..the highest true is in this video for sure

  • taj mowry?

  • @Lachuxss Define naive.

  • @Lachuxss I still can't get what you're trying to say. You have no reason to white-knight yourself because my comment seems to upset your little perfect world. My opinion is my opinion, and some random chav isn't going to change that. Just because I think that that domain means they aren't serious, doesn't mean you can change my mind. Even if it isn't their own page, they would do something to get their video off there, as it diminishes their true meaning.

  • @Lachuxss Sorry, your point didn't get across due to your shit grammar.

  • @5StringRevoloution While "shit" can certainly be an adjective if used as slang, your adherence to Standard English and correct grammar in previous posts calls for the use of "shitty" instead. I hope that you can receive this message within the walls of your glass house.

  • @samanthaboyce18 Ah, but used in my dialect (Southern English) it is perfectly acceptable. Grammar is not the same in all dialects.

  • who is doesn't say that the charter for compassion owns that site. Any person can either have the video file or embed the code into a site, esp. a hacker

  • Um, I don't think the Charter For Compassion people have anything to do with that "balls.com" website. Someone else probably set it up and posted the video there. The actual website this video is associated with is listed in the description - charterforcompassion.

  • i dont understand how a video can be taken seriously if its a video from a domain called balls.com i mean yea it has a good message but i cant take it seriously being as i folund it on balls.com like wtf

  • lol balls.com=domain fail

  • As long as compassion comes from rejecting the uncompassionate, compassion is still rooted in the opposite.

It is your example of true unconditional compassion that can spark the natural compassion in others.

    Not words.

  • I fully support balls.

  • No one can be fucking serious if these people bought the domain .balls.com.

Go on, check it. I'll wait.

    Back?

See? The video is on that site. It's idiotic.

It makes all these points moot.

  • @5StringRevoloution Are you not aware that anyone can embed YouTube videos on their website? You could create called anything you want, and embed this video on it too. That is not their domain and they have nothing to do with it.

  • thank you

  • Im from balls.com.

  • @lilcreampunk777 ok... soo i'm not the only one

  • tacman103 - by asking that question, you are certainly not compassionate Did you listen to this before you ridiculed others? You are not part of the solution. You are part of the problem. Congratulations. BTW, I have no compassion for you.

  • @ILOVEU2ANDST i have not ridculed anyone. that post was truely from the bottom of my heart, i just find it truely sadning to see how people can some way disagree with this video and ridicule ME for wondering why,.. for is it not sadening to you? I can assure u, im far from the problem, u dont kno a persons whole life by one senteence they say do you?:) btw, i dont kno one person whos compassionate, but yet not compassionate for others;)god bless

  • So this is what i get for going to Balls.com Oh well..

  • Awesome video and message! I have added this video to our favorites and added your info to our website!

  • Beautiful. We must try, forget, fail, and try again...

    Compassion and love are growing

  • This is a beautiful film. Actually living those words is a challenge to our Western culture. It can seem impossible, but on 9/12/01 the world actually lived this way for a very brief period. Check out Find 9/12.

  • I found this at Balls.com

These guys can't be too serious if they buy that domain.

  • @5StringRevoloution i found it at balls.com 2 lol ya and serisly bout the domain but wow lols

  • @5StringRevoloution haha same

  • @5StringRevoloution what were you doing going to balls.com ...?

  • @5StringRevoloution me to XD

  • balls.com

  • This was Written buy a group of religious members from all three Abrahamic faiths. This is a culmination and understanding of all three Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. to try to get people to go back to the basics of morality to the true religion of compassion. Not the dogma that has grown from taking the doctrines literally.

  • balls.com

    wtf

  • @cdude100 i know i thought it would be funny but this shit came :S

  • @mrspogadaeus Hmmm..You quote a extreme right wing blog (Human Events Magazine) that makes a blanket statement about Sheik Gomaa that is not attributed to any known or reliable source, based on an article about an entirely different subject from a interview in 2005. It appears to me that with very little research on your part you are lumping all Muslims together and assuming he must be evil because he is Muslim. How sad that many have forgotten the concept of innocent until PROVEN guilty.

  • balls.com?

  • @Wearethethings o yeah

  • First thing i though of was Illuminati...

  • Nice video... I too wish extremist Christians and Muslims would listen to it.

    .

But what about the charlatans in religion that bilk the weak and gullible of their money and trick them into ignoring the advice of professional medical personnel, or demand to obstruct real science in the classroom or in the prevention of STDs?

. I see no use in the continuity of religion as it currently plays a role in the world stage. It engenders war and hatred and division to promote its own agendas.

  • I was directed here from balls.com.

  • @Imaweasel1 same lmao

  • Saved. Shared. Moved to tears. Beautiful. We are capable of so much greatness. We need to begin such a path now- and THIS is exactly the way. Peace :D

  • @emfinn By having compassion for others we increase our own self worth. If we deny others respect how can we expect anyone to respect us.

  • balls

  • I like the idea, but if they're trying to get this point across to everyone they should put it in more layman's terms because odds are over half the people who watch this aren't understanding half the words they are saying.

  • Is it compassionate to murder the first-born child of every family in an entire civilization? Compassion is NOT what the desert god of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam is about. He is about domination and control. The sooner we abandon all ties with this mythological beast, the better.

  • @DSXmachine This is where compassion is truly needed. UNDERSTANDING that it takes time for people to change. The Holy Scriptures of any religion, IMHO was meant to be a basis to grow from. To show the future generations what works and what doesn't work. Stop and think, why would a so called 'Almighty God' need men to kill anyone....Wouldn't God be able to blink and wipe out thousands of people....could it be that since 'MEN' were inspired to write all scriptures, they had to rationalize war?

  • @GorgeousLady144 Okay, so religion is made up then. Let's just drop the charade and get on with reality.

  • BALLS. THIS ROCKS! Thanks a ton. You guys ROCK!

\m/ <--- Helen Keller said this means "I Love You"(I think). Yay! ^_^

  • I am all for compassion in my daily life. I am all for what the video promotes, however I looked up the site. Way too good to be true? I figure its a christian site in disguise. I have a feeling I am spot on. I really don't understand why we all cant treat each others like we would like to be treated minus all the bullshit religion. Try to be a good person, listen to and respect others, have compassion. Thats it.

  • Hello, this video is not from Christians in disguise.

When you have time, you might like to watch remarks by Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf on ted.com,

and read Information about the Charter for Compassion.

Youtube won't let me put in the internet addresses for the two websites, so if you can't find the websites, please send me a message and I will send them to you.

  • i truely wonder what is going through the heads of the people who disliked this

  • @tacman103 Why object to this? One of the board members of this group, "Charter for Compassion", is Sheikh Ali Gomaa, grand mufti of Egypt. Human Events magazine said this about him: "Sheikh Gomaa has defended Islam’s death penalty for apostasy (from Islam) and sanctions for wife-beating, and has endorsed the jihad terror group Hezbollah." He is also recognized for his support of terrorism against Israel. Seems disingenuous, this compassion he supports. This video is cultural Ambien.

  • @tacman103 I imagine they are the "compassionate" Christians. There are people that think that this is trying to create a "one-world religion." They are Christian. That religion has bred more lunatics than any other - it's just past their overtly violent time in history!
