Here is what I think is funny about everyone who hates on pc or mac... I own a mac, its great, never crashes for me, the only thing that does suck about it is that no one makes anything compatible, don't know why...BUT, thats why I also have windows 7 on my mac, oh hang on, external hard drive has linux on it that I use off my mac.... all computers are good no matter what they are, it's just that a person has to decide which they want... I am rebuilding a pc to run mac... just stop complaining..

The problem with getting viruses isn't necessarily the virus protection's fault. PEOPLE [users] create viruses. To annoy or take advantage of people. WINDOWS has a much wider user base. Simple logic dictates to attack them, unless you just want to piss off MAC OS users. That is why there is far more viruses for windows. But then again we have more white hat hackers to help protect us and create better virus protection.

Also, I think the best way to describe Macs is 'simple'. They do simple tasks without much fuss. Some people (Mac users, mainly) see this as a good thing, and some people, such as me, don't look for 'simple' in a computer. I'd rather something meatier, with power, gaming capability, the ability to modify internal computer parts and of course, something that doesn't cost me a few grand greater than the sum of its parts.
I think the only conclusive statement I can make from this ad is: If you're the type of person who would even get problematic viruses on their PC, then you should probably opt for something easier to use, like a Mac.
I've had my PC for about 4 or 5 years, it still runs great games, runs smoothly and has never had a virus, my mac i've had 1 year and I can't play any good games on it and pages is less user friendly than annoyed donkey.
@Asiats1 norton is not the best. it's the biggest and most well known, but it's not the best. and the evolution of viruses is the same reason why more and more viruses are coming out for mac as well

@Crossfire990 well despite an athlon ii x4 and a core i7 2600k (whats in the high end macs, and my pc build) both being quad cores, the 2600k is almost 3 times faster. Its unfair to call them even similarish; nonetheless my build is immensily cheaper to get a mac with the same parts (if you can even get 2 580's in SLi in a mac) so youre right, but still.......exagerrating :)

I think the reason there's barely any viruses for the mac, is because it's insanely hard to program on mac, where as in Windows, it's actually quite easy. I've made a virus one and sent it to my friend, weren't that hard.
@hstpska There are 3 ways to run windows games on a mac: 1st: WINE - a program that lets you install and use Windows programs directly on Mac OS, 2nd: a virtual machine with windows, 3rd: install Windows via bootcamp. Like that you can use the advantages of both operating systems.
@Nilsfried 1.WINE doesn't support like 75% of games. 2&3, why get virtual machines of windows when you can just get windows without having to do anything else? Sure Mac's are pretty, but PC's can be made to be pretty too.

But there are also viruses for various Linux distributions... just because there are Ubuntu, Suse, Knoppix etc. it's difficult to develop a virus for ALL Linux versions. And thanks to the community, the viruses are "hunt down" with just a short delay.

@Crossfire990 well despite an athlon ii x4 and a core i7 2600k (whats in the high end macs, and my pc build) both being quad cores, the 2600k is almost 3 times faster. Its unfair to call them even similarish; nonetheless my build is immensily cheaper to get a mac with the same parts (if you can even get 2 580's in SLi in a mac) so youre right, but still.......exagerrating :)

I think the reason there's barely any viruses for the mac, is because it's insanely hard to program on mac, where as in Windows, it's actually quite easy. I've made a virus one and sent it to my friend, weren't that hard.

@hstpska There are 3 ways to run windows games on a mac: 1st: WINE - a program that lets you install and use Windows programs directly on Mac OS, 2nd: a virtual machine with windows, 3rd: install Windows via bootcamp. Like that you can use the advantages of both operating systems.

You know, the aluminum design is just for show. Aluminum is complete shit at dispersing heat, which is why they started making computers out of plastic in the first place, so if i can pay less for a product that won't overheat because of the materials, i'd rather go with that one

But there are also viruses for various Linux distributions... just because there are Ubuntu, Suse, Knoppix etc. it's difficult to develop a virus for ALL Linux versions. And thanks to the community, the viruses are "hunt down" with just a short delay.
