Not sure if this is said. But I had a buddy who had a hammydin and who would do rushes for people through both nightmare and hell. I don't know if they have changed this really, but it appeared nothing was immune to hammers. He was even taking down physical immunes and magic immunes.

Hey, i realize now, with my poison nova necromancer that infinity isn't good for your mercenary, it doesn't low the venom's resistence of your enemy even more when you use lower resist. You'll see: fortress + destruction left a damage of 700 to 4k in my mercenary. Maybe we need to see your damage with fortress intead trang oul's set... take care man, long live Diablo!.

You talk about not needing a lot of +skills, yet you are carrying almost all endgame equipment except for missing one soj and the arachnid mesh. You still have all poison facets, 5 bone & poison charms, etc. It'd be nice if we could see the damage and capability without all that gear.
Max block with Homunculus is very achievable, it is an awesome block shield.
When you are facing enemies that are immune to poison, use corpse explosion. or just telebomb ya merc onto them.
Until you have enigma revives are almost always a net dps decrease (they get in the merc/skellys way). The exception being urdars and those frenzy mobs from a4/5.
I dont recommend this build at all for pvm, poison is mainly a pvp spec.

The resistances get lower and lower as you go to higher difficulty, i mean i Normal they are +75, but when u go to Nightmare they decrease, and in Hell they decrease again, so you want to have as many items and charms with +all resistances as possible, it might get better :) I hope this helped

If you have your enigma, port outside the trouble, get redepmtion to retrieve mana/hp from the bodies, port to a fairly open space, back with concentration and spam your hammers... this really isnt rocket science.
tl;dr If you suck with a hammerdin sure, you'll die. If you know what you're doing - you won'g. easy as that.
it's okay to (be gay :D) fail as a poisonmancer, cause if you didn't see, he had the poison skills lvl 47. thats pretty good. i can guarantee that if you make a poisonmancer, you won't have all this stuff, and so you wont do as well as he did. but you should be ok as soon as you get some good items. i mean like shako and homu that you can get for a handful of pgems that are easy to get. deaths web... is not as hard to get too. but i have tried a poisonmancer too, and have failed miserably. luck

ya when it says 40k over 18 seconds it meens ur doin 40k in 18 seconds not 1 second but 18 for example my psn nova doas 7.5k over 2 seconds it doas 3 3/4k every 1 second and the target stays poisoned for 2 seconds making me do up to 7.5 k every 2 seconds get it now?
@0FitzChivalry0 i believe the number would be 870k posions dmg in 10 seconds. Remember to there is resistances to be accounted for, and it requires a corpse to work. Although gazillion was a good guess...
@dwaynewade99 i wish i could post a link to my source but it appears that is the issue. It is not a mistake that larger damage poison attacks have a longer duration, it is to increase there effectiveness as dmg is applied every second. If you look to d2 mods this is the case universally, and it becomes apparent once pushed to the extremes, Median being a prime example (a mod with no hardcoding)
for 1 ur rong with the homun the homun is best for block for a necro either that or a SS is the easiest to achieve max block with i have 201 points into dex including torch anni and gear and i am max block and i still have over 320 points into vita so dont say homun isnt ment for block because ur completly rong

Conviction does NOT lower poison resistance and +skills items does NOT synergize, u should also use bramble and death's web, u should only put 1 point in clay golem, golem mastery, summon resistance and revive, skip all the rest, summon for poison necro are only for tank...

@Nhordmyr It makes the game more challenging because when you die, it's permanent. It's really intended for the more serious players who are insanely good at this game.
in my opinion it is a really fun build, me and my brother were one of the first few to think of doing this, but we moved on to WoW.
you have to try it yourself to understand how fun it is but it is a little harder to level trough the lower levels.
its better than a bone necromancer in the sense that bone spirits are really slow and not effective against faster targets or in pvp now that everyone has enigma.
You have alot of flaws in your builds. I recommend looking up a few things that you clearly don't know. Bur for now, here are a few tips.
1. Infinity doesn't lower poison resistance.
2. Synergy only counts the hard points put into the skill (for example, you put one point into bone prison then that 1 point put in is all bone armor is gonna synergise from no matter how mush +skill you have).
this is wicked good im gonna watch this vid every day that i have diablo 2 reinstalled so i can make a succesful poison and bone necr my last 1 was good he was lvl 77 but there was a mix up and i didnt know what dead body had my shako and enigma on it and there were alot of my armor less bodies on the ground cuz i was soloing hell countes to get keys but i faild and stopped playin diablo 2 for a few years then i found my strategy guid and am starting on september 2nd again =) and

Good video, exept i think that bone necros are better. I tryed to make a poison necro but stooped at lvl 20, Ii couldnt kill any strong creatures! I doont waste money on buying virtual items and my items arent THAT good. even poison dagger lvl 8 cant fully kill a strong enemy like salamander or something. I think it is VERY hard to make a poison necro. So, I am going to have a poison- bone necro!

Great guide for newly started Necromancers. could imagine it's a great help for people who're just getting starting and are wondering why they deal low poison damage with their raw poison skills.
One thing I noticed though, was that you didn't mention Corpse Explosion which is my favorite skill right after PSN-nova & Lower resist. It deals with poison immunes and it's a nice addition to the arsenal of your novas, curses and summons.
Also a better choice than Enigma for damage would be Bramble.
i use the heart of the oak for my lvl 92 necro with enigma. i'd max out life tap, iron maiden lower resist and all of my skeletons and bone spear got to have a torch, annihilius, S O J rings, harlequin shako, gheeds charm, and some plus skills charms. my char does good for hell and uber battles
I just think ONE point into corpse explosion would have been great.
Then you can easily kill poison immunes without relying on summons. In fact, the only enemy I think that could thwart you is a tri-immune physical, fire, and poison monster O_o.

ok ive got a question. If what Aron357 sais its true then instead of act 2 merc get an act 3 merc and if i equip him whit juelers items filed whit facets and get CoA(2facets)that would be -80 to poison res +another -55 from char wolud take it to -135 enemy poison res will it stack?

Heyy i have made a poison necro i have the full trang set and torch charm but for some reason i am no were near as good as some of the other poison necros out there and i get killed within seconds on hell mode. i do 5-6k poison dmg on my poison nova and 19-20k poison dmg on my poison dagger... is this not enough have i done something wrong please help!
when ur using poisen necromancer.get summons from outer stepps in act4.if ur gonna pvp,tele and spam poisen nova.for merc use insight.infinity i dont think helps poisen.

2. why 100poison-dmg-sc´s in your inv? u dont use p.dagger?!?!
3. try 2 use trangloves belt and shield (more lowerresist-bonus)
4. take bramble. and put enigma in ur inv for telesituations.

Summoning is needed in poison necro build , the poison won't kiill the target, so you need extra damage

A few details:
Poison is applied every second. 40k over 18 seconds, means 40k every second, a huge misconception. Why poison is good for hit and runs.
Poison charms only work on physical damage, good for poison dagger nothing else.
On your merc, -lighting resistances, is only on his attacks, but the aura effects all. Therefore, that "extra" -light only affects his attacks.

Tran ghoul's gloves! and poison facets! he had 3 poison facets, thats 15 %, add the gloves, (25%) and you get 40 %. Now, if you do --
6000 = x%
10000 = 100%
600000 : 1000 = 60%
So , you do 60 % of his dmg, NOW ADD THE MISSING 40% a.k.a. 4000 DMG!! lol doesn't get any more basic then this.

Conviction does NOT lower poison resistance and +skills items does NOT synergize, u should also use bramble and death's web, u should only put 1 point in clay golem, golem mastery, summon resistance and revive, skip all the rest, summon for poison necro are only for tank...

in my opinion it is a really fun build, me and my brother were one of the first few to think of doing this, but we moved on to WoW.
you have to try it yourself to understand how fun it is but it is a little harder to level trough the lower levels.
its better than a bone necromancer in the sense that bone spirits are really slow and not effective against faster targets or in pvp now that everyone has enigma.

3. USE BRAMBLE!!! If this build is a PvM build then bramble is definietly the best option. For the merc I would use fortitude.
4. stop wasting points into useless summons, Put points into skeletons and revive perhaps but skip the golems. Max out bone armor instead.

You have alot of flaws in your builds. I recommend looking up a few things that you clearly don't know. Bur for now, here are a few tips.
1. Infinity doesn't lower poison resistance.
2. Synergy only counts the hard points put into the skill (for example, you put one point into bone prison then that 1 point put in is all bone armor is gonna synergise from no matter how mush +skill you have).

this is wicked good im gonna watch this vid every day that i have diablo 2 reinstalled so i can make a succesful poison and bone necr my last 1 was good he was lvl 77 but there was a mix up and i didnt know what dead body had my shako and enigma on it and there were alot of my armor less bodies on the ground cuz i was soloing hell countes to get keys but i faild and stopped playin diablo 2 for a few years then i found my strategy guid and am starting on september 2nd again =) and

one more question, for a bone pvp necro should i just max bone spirit bone spear, bone armor? i was thinking to max up bone prison or bone wall, cause my friends dont have enigma! anyway would it be useful to get bone wall or rather get bone prison?

Good video, exept i think that bone necros are better. I tryed to make a poison necro but stooped at lvl 20, Ii couldnt kill any strong creatures! I doont waste money on buying virtual items and my items arent THAT good. even poison dagger lvl 8 cant fully kill a strong enemy like salamander or something. I think it is VERY hard to make a poison necro. So, I am going to have a poison- bone necro!

if a high lev hdin dies doing chaos run they probly suck or there bot messed up i dont see any hdins dieing there really i only see mercs die there because of im but thats it and they dont really need the merc for chaos because of redemption u can get ur mana and life back without useing potions

Great guide for newly started Necromancers. could imagine it's a great help for people who're just getting starting and are wondering why they deal low poison damage with their raw poison skills.
One thing I noticed though, was that you didn't mention Corpse Explosion which is my favorite skill right after PSN-nova & Lower resist. It deals with poison immunes and it's a nice addition to the arsenal of your novas, curses and summons.
Also a better choice than Enigma for damage would be Bramble.

i use the heart of the oak for my lvl 92 necro with enigma. i'd max out life tap, iron maiden lower resist and all of my skeletons and bone spear got to have a torch, annihilius, S O J rings, harlequin shako, gheeds charm, and some plus skills charms. my char does good for hell and uber battles

Its a great build and I love the videos.
I just think ONE point into corpse explosion would have been great.
Then you can easily kill poison immunes without relying on summons. In fact, the only enemy I think that could thwart you is a tri-immune physical, fire, and poison monster O_o.
Just an idea.

ok ive got a question. If what Aron357 sais its true then instead of act 2 merc get an act 3 merc and if i equip him whit juelers items filed whit facets and get CoA(2facets)that would be -80 to poison res +another -55 from char wolud take it to -135 enemy poison res will it stack?

Heyy i have made a poison necro i have the full trang set and torch charm but for some reason i am no were near as good as some of the other poison necros out there and i get killed within seconds on hell mode. i do 5-6k poison dmg on my poison nova and 19-20k poison dmg on my poison dagger... is this not enough have i done something wrong please help!
