I really enjoy all of your videos. I too am a DJ, out in the Boston area. This is my first post...
I like having a partner from time 2 time. More for informal events. You always have to gauge the party before hand before determining who, if anyone will accompany you. I tend to travel with those who aren't DJs. Either they know/own sound systems and light rigs. Others help lift things. In the nightclub I work with 1 DJ. Allows for photos and videos to be shot while the other DJs.
I know a guy who does mixes like the first one all the time (Well, I should say a plank that lets his pirated copy of virtual DJ do it). He works in my parents pub every friday. The only reason he still has the gig is because he is cheap and my parents dont want to upset him :/
Another reason he has the gig is because he's making your parents money! I'm thinking that if the guests in your parent's pub didn't like him or had an issue with him, they wouldn't worry too much about upsetting him. It's obvious that the owner's kid has a problem with him, but that dosen't hurt thier bottom line... Money!
Actually, I really like him and he is a good guy. Friday nights are getting worse though and it shows on the tills too. It really makes me cringe when he mashes two songs together when he hasn't attempted to beat match them, or plays music videos that have silent/'talking' parts. I suppose he isnt that bad though.. he brings in a crowd, sometimes. I didn't mean to offend you btw, the mix was great.
The galaxian looked ok but if they dimmed the lights properly it would have looked great.
I've had so many gigs lately that the venues refuse to dim the lights for a better atmosphere. The venues just don't seem to care about client satisfaction after meals. Once the food is served they seem to switch off the client relationship. I had a venue this weekend that actually turned up the lights after the meal and had the staff close off areas of the room and start vacuming with 3 hrs still to go.
oh Forgot ..to say if anyone didnt know...Brian is a wizz with the mix meister programme, im practicing with 6 at the moment its cool! thanks for the insite previous brian...rgds jason
Why Abba no one strait or sober dances to Abba. and when you have more women than men on the dance floor you always play women artist and Motown and the song brick house always fills the dance floor.
Cool video Bri...now I have to try that weird mix sometime.
Mixes? Outkast's Hey ya into Green Light by John Legend is pretty smooth. Both have Andre 3000 so that's probably why.
Ice Ice Baby into Kevin Rudolph's Let It Rock is probably the weirdest mix I do these days but it seems to go over well, and Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy into Kid Rock's All Summer Long tends to keep crowds happy for the sake of quick A-B beat mixing purposes. I'm sure a few have some nice ones out there.
Great gig! I have had many of those times when I say, "They are gonna love this!!!"....
Yeah we all knw what comes next but then you you get them back just as fast or the other group might just join in when the first one leave. Everyone has a different taste in music.
So true! Your DJ videos are the best and we should all copy you...oh wait, you don't have any videos. And the fact that you're commenting on someone's video of a PAID GIG makes your point moot. Thanks for playing.
