I absolutely love this song. It means a lot to me. I knew Richard Marx wrote it - even when you here the first few cords in the Nsync version you can hear the sound of "right hear waiting for you." Richard Marx is an incredibly talented song writer. This version sounds deeper and richer than Nsync although JC's vocals were off the charts good.
I enjoy each version quite a bit
Does anyone have a link to another, high quality live version of this song performed only by Richard?
Richard has a far more interesting and richer voice than any of those goofballs from NSYNC. Timberlake is certainly talented but vocally he is nothing particularly special.
He's a great singer. But there's no way he sings it better than JC from nsync - he can't hit the same notes and this is evident in the fact that he sings the entire tune at a noticeably lower key.
More musically talented? For sure. Better singer? Not a chance
Yes I very much realised this. Notice how I mentioned that I thought he was 'more musically talented..for sure'?
And no, there is no 'official' key to this song. Further, to say Nsync RAISED the already high notes to make them EASIER is simply embarrassing.
It's not like the key adopted by marx was soooo low that anyone but a bass singer would have been challenged by it. He sang it high, just not high enough to rival JC from Nsync.
There was not one note Marx sang that JC couldn't have.
Not a better singer hey?? lol... funny I think he's sold a few more albums than "JC". haha.
Everybody has their own range and they sing within it. duh! Just cause someone sings higher or slightly lower doesn't mean they are a better or worse singer. Richard Marx is as good of singer mechanically as anyone. Some of his other songs have extremly high notes and falsetto's you may want to listen to!
Also, how is someone in his 40's going to sing as high as someone in their early 20's??
Songs are not only raised/lowered to suit the voice, for all you know he lowered the song to give it a different feel, you'll notice the heavy drums and electric guitar??
I LOVE THIS SONG...I have always liked the NSync version--I knew that Richard Marx penned it...he does it waaaayyyy better. I would love to see him play it on the piano. So good!! I've replayed it so many times already.
like watching 8 bit video game but good sound quality, thanks anyway.

You do realize this is Richard Marx's song right? He focused on writing for other bands in the 90's and early 2000's. This song is HIS genius.
This is the key of the song....*NSYNC raised it because they couldn't sing this low as a group.

To the person who filmed this... great audio.
However - you need to learn the art of keeping a steady hand. This isn't very good work in that department!
hotqueekboi 2 years ago
I'm sorry if my hands aren't steady...I was filming through a digital camera while actually enjoying the music.
I'm not a filmographer. I just really like Richard's music, hence why I videotaped it. I'm sorry if it's not professional.... -_-"

If Richard wants to be back on the music map, this is his way to it. Much better than N'SYNC's version.
