Voxtrot would be very popular and could become a HUGE fad in so many ways. but fads have good looking people.. Example: im not a fan of hanna montana, but she's still kinda hot. justin timberlake's music is terrible (my opinion), but women go crazy for him. to sum up all this, sex sells.. the sooner you accept that, the better..

you brought up some hip-hop artist and some Disney channel whore

when it comes to rock (broad generalization) they look at more then what you look like

they look at your creative ability to write music, and lyrics

when you brought hip-hop into this, alot of the time these people get paid to sing a song that someone else wrote for them

meaning justin timberlake and hannah montana have nothing to do with rock.

AND

Voxtrot isnt even bad looking.

your opening this VERY broadly.. i brought up hip-hop and the "disney channel whore" (still give you props on that one) for shitty examples of mainstream.

bands that are in the "rock" category aren't always as loyal as you may think; lots of them use songs from other people.. led zepplin for instance used old rockabilly songs and turned them into good rock.

gee, you talk to me like i don't know that artists use other peoples songs.

You're moronic to think that 'hip hop artists' (Justin Timberlake not even being a 'HIP HOP artist') are the only ones that follow the shallow rules of mainstream.

Bands get deals for their marketability.. Record Companies obviously then want the best looking people, the trendiest people at the time, and sadly, genuine talent is usually the last thing that matters.

And most of these 'rock' bands I'm sure you listen to are probably the mosttalentless poppy bullshit poprock ever.
