Why do you call it a "bubble"? Methane at those pressures you claim cannot stay in gas form but as liquid form. Therefore there could not be such a big difference in density compared to water, and that means the velocity of emergence wouldn't be that much. I don't see how that can cause a sunami.

If it was a methane bubble traveling at supersonic speed that caused the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the first place, then whats stopping it from blowing up again? The thing I don't understand is how it's possible that the methane didn't crack the seafloor and explode causing a tsunami on April 20th when it initally exploded? Anyone got an answer for that?

It does not take much to figure that if oil is leaking through various cracks in the ocean floor that there must be a lot of pressure pushing up on the oil and methane and other compounds. It does not look good that it will stopped soon and the theory that hot oil and other compounds could mix violently with frigid sea water in immense quantities looks very valid. Maybe that would cause a large wave. Considering how low everything is, even a 25 foot wave would kill a lot of people.

Civilian GPS has sub-meter accuracy, more than enough to locate the 20 mile wide gas bubble this nut thinks exists. 100, 000 psi pressure not possible at depths of just 4 miles. Would need 20-25 miles of overburden to begin to generate this kind of pressure. Many wells in the onshore and offshore Gulf have drilled >20,000. No problem with the 9500-12000 psi pressures at these depths. This guy is a nut job or a liar. G. Noory makes his "career" interviewing these types.

@jondavidgriffin Yes, I understood it to mean 4 miles under the seabed. Rocks in the crust cannot hold pressure beyond a pressure gradient of 1 psi/foot of rock depth. At that point the grains of rock are mainly supported by the fluids in them and they self fracture and release the pressure. So at 20-25K feet below the seabed the pressures can't be more than 20-25k psi, and usually will be much less. Most pressure gradients in the deep offshore Gulf will range from .7-.9 psi/ft

I have long suspected that the immense bodies of petroleum could not have been formed by the accumulation of diatoms on one end of the scale, thru dinosaurs, to forests at the other end. The earth is just too unstable for biota to accumulate in that amount. And besides, the more life, the more need and capacity life has to eat its own remains.
