  • camera control is great?! sorry kwing...cant agree with ya here...this game is horrid and i think you like it more based on the fact that its a guilty pleasure for you...cept you just dont call it that! we all have games like that...ones we see past the flaws bc we like them...but i've played this game and others have TRIED to do lets plays lol its not a good game...why else u think the series died off a while.

  • I keep hating Iga more and more the more he keeps fuckin vania up. The only vania I've been able to play and have fun with at all since SOTN was Lament of Innocence. That one felt more retro and is worth a playthrough. Taking the liberty of removing this game from the timeline is ridiculous and it's just his opinion. This game is in mine along with Legends. It just sucks that we won't get any rereleases upgraded or original.

  • Iga's 3d crap can suck my dick this shit is the best 3d game because he had nothing to do with it. If it wasn't for the easy 3rd form dracula battle it would be my favourite. It doesn't center completely around the castle and gives us a whole plethora of levels that alternate depending on who you play through it as. This game just gets everything right.

  • nintendo needs to put legacy of darkness on virtual console

  • I should do a top 10 video games that aren't as bas as everyone says, because this Castlevania has it's place on the list.

  • I'm a Belmont...it's my job :D

  • wawa it 's wonderful game

  • wawa it 's wonderful game

  • I got this game today at the flea market for $10 :)

  • so this game comes with the previous N64 title?

  • @TheLiquidusnake Yes Reinhardt and Carrie which are unlockable when you beat Henry's story play out C64.

  • how pay you for this ______ review ¬¬

  • WOO HOO

    YEAH TAKE THAT CENSORSHIP

    ONE POINT FOR JESUS

    :D

    happy Hallowing get it :D

  • So what IS your opinion on Aria/Dawn of Sorrow?

  • whats with the ULTRA slow buffering :/

  • i played this game alot back when it first came out and very much enjoyed it. one thing i remember is while there are quite alot of difficult platforming in this game, in my opinion by far the hardest stage is tower of sorcery. the clock tower was a cakewalk compared to that evil stage.

  • My thougts before Lords of Shadow was released were that it was not going to feel like CV at all, and apparently, I was right. I haven't played the game, but I've heard many people say it.

  • From chapter 4 or 5 onwards, Lords of Shadow does start feeling like Castlevania. The beginning is pretty weak, but then it picks up.

At first I was disappointed with LoS, but it became one of my favorite CV games after all.

  • lol i remeber this review its the first review ive seen of you i love this game its awesome .....

  • Wow, I should really try this. I'm quite disappointed in Lords of Shadow right now. Doesn't feel very Castlevania at all.

  • Even though this is a rereleased review, I must say it is very well done. I never got to try this myself unfortunately due to the fact that all I ever had was Castlevania 64 and my feelings about it were quite mixed. About Lords of Shadow though, it's an interesting game, that borrows from the mythology of the series without being really related to the series as a whole. It's strange how, just like LoD, the music is all different, but it's good to see the certain characters reborn like Cornell.

  • didnt you already post this?

  • @soric16 thats why its called season 3 playback

  • This is the review the introduced me to you! =D I love this Castlevania, it is definitely my favorite and also one of my favorite games. But yeah, this is a very good review. It's very in-depth.

  • @Zeifear

Introduced me to you in 2008? Or this yr? Either is fine, this review was really fun to do yrs ago. I was still getting used to scripts and better editing tricks. Personally this is still one of my favorite reviews to watch, I just wish the quality aged well. But I didn't have good enough capturing software 2 yrs ago.

  • Blood pouring out of the lava...lol..REALLY man....Most would know....Its lava pouring into the lava......YOu should get abit more sunlight...its in your voice....I fell your pain....Dont worry....It cant get better...so no need to looking into the future....Stay on the late 90's...plz

  • Good review Kwing, now I don't have to worry about Legacy of Darkness being bad. Now I can go buy it.

  • i actually LIKE lords of shadow. i definitely think its a better game then legacy of darkness

  • @CamsEyeView

I like Lords of Shadow, but its not a Vania game. infact it wasn't even developed as a Vania game, the name Belmont and Castlevania were added later. I will be doing a full blown lords of Shadow review at the end of NOV, in the same style as my AC2 review back in March.

  • @kNIGHTWING01

but the thing was Kwing that it wasnt suppose to be like the old castlevanias they said they were going to move the franchise forward and not backwards. its basically a revamp. yes it takes elements from god of war and shadow of the colossus, but really who cares it implements them well so i dont see why people dont consider it castlevania

  • @CamsEyeView

Im telling Lords of Shadow was developed as a different game, with no intention of making it a CV game. At last yrs E3 the game was announced as a CV game, when it was not. IGA said this game isn't even canon, its a different take. Even the story feels nothing like CV and you can tell playing it. To sell more copies the game was renamed Castlevania Lords of Shadow, before it was called Lords of Shadow which would have been fine, its not a vania game. Again wait for my review.

  • @kNIGHTWING01

i know that, but they didnt want to announce it as castlevania lords of shadow because they didnt want it to overshadow castlevania judgement (though maybe finally confirming it as the full title would have been better)

but believe what you want you have your own opinions

  • @kNIGHTWING01

Either way you can't deny it's a fun game... :)

  • @skyace156601

Im not denying its fun game. Im saying its not a Vania game. Love the visuals, gameplay and story...except the ending.

  • @kNIGHTWING01 omg youre so right , this game is not CastleVania im sorry , its just not. (yes this is Belmont from SA in case you forgot lol)

  • @kNIGHTWING01 THATS TRUE !!! very TRUE ! I was telling the same thing !

Lords isnt a Castlevania game! And everthing BUT EVERYTHING in the game proves it!

  • @mokilokD Lords is it's own game. It doesn't even remotely feel castlevaniaesque. It's a great game but not castlevania.

  • they should put it on virtual console i'd buy it

  • @turbogamer25

No VC game has been added this month either. This game would have been perfect, but I fear the VC is dead in the US. Japan it has over 700 games for theres and its upadated weekly.

  • yay I LOVE THIS GAME MORE THEN ANY OTHER CASTLEVANIA GAME :D

  • whats wrong with curse of darkness?

  • @dajam9035

Poor camera controls. I like the combat engine and the music. But they did not fix the issues that made people not like Lament.

  • you should do a review of the new splatter house

  • @TheArts8

I am for Gotgame in Dec. To many games are coming out in Nov and Im only reviewing 4. Epic Mikey and Splatterhouse will be for Dec Reviews.

  • great opening theme its never old

  • dracula's got some incredible engineers at work in his castle

  • @gabe228

    I know really.

  • Reinhardt also does that Catholic cross gesture at the beginning of his quest.

  • I love Lords of shadow, however the ending is........ very impressive to me i cant sy much to give anything away. :P

  • Lords of Shadow had a lot in common with the original Castlevania.

  • @Xshinobi2k8 ......no it didn't, theres nothing thats even close to the original.

  • I think Lords of Shadow should had used this game's gameplay with modern graphics, well it does have Cornell as a boss which was odd but it was cool to see him again.

  • So if i got Legacy of Darkness then there would be no need to get Castlevania 64

  • @SmashMastr98 Pretty much, Once you unlock the original two characters you pretty much get to play Castlevania 64 with all the bugs ironed out of it and full camera control.

  • @AngelBeeps good thing i realized that before i bought Castlevania off of ebay

  • these small clips of what castlevania 64 SHOULD have been are scenes i still remember from the nintendo power that featured it, i got so fucking excited to see them, but then we got the 64 version that we ended up with...and a tear was shed :(

  • needs to be on virtual console!

  • What a monster review! I didn't think I'd actually get through it... But good job! Got to love CastleVania.

  • actualy the form to come to the bad ending is that 15 days pass by, something that is hard to do without using cards(nobody is slow enought to do it by playing alone) so cards are a good method but not the actual to make it

  • The belmont theme is vampire killer, or were you talking about Simons theme?

  • I remember carrie being easier than reinhard because of her homing attacks

  • I missed it because I had the first one ,I actualy like it but I just wasn't sure to get this

  • I really need to get this game.
