  • This is thed best o scale layout i have seen!! Its great.

  • I bought this DVD near day one... I have watched it over 10 times... I LOVE IT!!! No video out there provides me with better tutorials! If there is going to be a part 3 I want to be first in line!!! I will pre order mine!

  • This looks like a really excellent DVD to get. My layout is at the scenery stage and I need something just like this to get going on it. To me, a steam locomotive, especially a late-era articulated, isn't weathered until it's got some hard water scale on it. Let's see some white crud on that N&W!

  • @htc6600 You will not find any videos better than these for learning how to do scenery. I shows the techniques I used to build my layout and took over a year to produce. If you don't find what you need in the DVDs, then email me and I'll help you. I originally thought the white was from ash, but later realized it can't be because it was also on the front drivers away fron the ash pan. Now I know what it is really from. Thanks for the info.

  • I bought th evideo and the first ten minutes skip so bad I have to fast forward to other content....arrrgh!!

  • Awesome...

  • How about a video giving us a good old-fashioned layout tour with some run-bys, etc. I would like to see some of your scenery in action.

  • @Broncort1

I agree, its time to put all that scenery to work. Part III is in the works and will have what you suggest. Thanks for your input. Rich

  • @Toytrainsontracks I meant on here...lol

  • i like the trains norfolk southern

  • Amazing job!!

  • fine fine fine ... Thumb up

  • not to jab scaletrax. but does it wear down the middle rollers. I see tons of comments online talking about this but i dont believe it! I cant wait to get some!!!

  • I FINALLY GOT IT!!!! I am soo happy!!! I watched it 5 times already. now all i have to do is get some scaletrax for christmas and these two dvds will be my savior.

  • i mean great/trains

  • geat lay out ,how do you aford all of those train

  • why is thete threee rails and can u make a nscale version

  • Man you have an awesome layout! I hope to build something just as nice when I am older. Probably not as big, but with scenery and and buildings and other detail. Your layout seems to be really expensive, but I bet you find ways to go cheap, but still look cool. I will look for this DVD on sale.

  • !!!FANTASTIC VIDEO!!!--Regards from Spain........Jordi.

  • @Toytrainsontracks what is the size of this layout? 00'x 00', it looks also that your min curve is 0 72, what is you min switch? I'm going to build a 0 scale layout and I was wondering how do you build such wide spaces and be able to reach it, I see you have access hatches but still in all some area's look to be over 6 feet wide... thanks

  • @markryan1963 The layout is 32'x13' and uses minimum O-72 curves including switches. Most of my switches are larger #6s and some #4s. The access points can reach any part of my layout within 3ft. Some of the platform is removable on top to get better access to hard to reach places. Thanks again for buying the videos, I think they will answer all of your questions and many more you haven't thought of yet. Enjoy!

  • thanks this help a lot to achieve realism.

  • Just got it in the mail and watched it. Excellent "how to" guide. Answered alot of questions.

  • This new video is released and now ON SALE!

  • Already gonna but it just need money to do it order should be in couple hours Thanks

  • What was the Main theme song naem in the FIrst DVD it was played toward the end of the DVD

  • Hey ToyTrainonTrack what is the song name in the first DVD when the K4 is operating

  • awsome again. what song is that and what program do you use to make videos. i use pinnacle

  • @GoldenCreekValleyRR

Its called "Blues-to-go" from Smart Sound. I use CyberLink PowerDirector. The UI and tools are great which is why I picked it, but the software implementation is the biggest piece of crap I have ever used in my 30 years of using PCs. I have wasted well over 100hours from crashes, corrupt files, numerous weird problems, etc, etc, and the dreaded "Blue screen of death". It is criminal that they can sell such bug infested software. Yeah, I'm angry.

  • @Toytrainsontracks still looks better than pinnacle which took controll of my computer and lauched 5000 unknown viruses onto the computer. one was trojan. still the hd is phenomenal

  • @Toytrainsontracks that is why i love Mac :) lol....I am just kidding around with you your videos are amazing! although I had to switch to HO scale due to space/money reasons I still love watching these! your techniques are amazing and your teaching style rivals that of my best college professors! I am sorry to hear about your problems with the software but I must say it is worth it you have inspired and helped countless numbers of train enthusiasts like ourselves...thank YOU!!!!

  • I hope you guys could make more dvd. James

  • Also This there gonna be a 3rd dvd i am hoping

  • Hello Rich! Would it be possible to order the second dvd with a check or a money order? I have the first dvd and love it, the second dvd looks equally as good if not better!

  • @joshdillon2003 Sure, just go to my website and send me an email requesting payment info. The reply will contain ordering information. Thank you.

Are you Big Al? Nice layout...no check that, amazing layout. Awesome video too. I was very entertained. I don't have to ask my muther.... mother or wife either. lol. Nice. It says your 51...what??? No way. Keep up the great work.

  • Hey Toytrains i am the guy a while back who got your dvd and i enhoyed i even took a advice from it about trees and i am going to get this dvd to i want to weather some of my steam engines

  • @Railroadtrip445

You'll like this DVD even better. New way to do trees and the weathering is an easy 3 step process and inexpensive.

  • Thanks my dad says we might not do it but it depends on how hard it is

  • I have a few questions: Do you keep the crossings set to the AIU or do you have that under a sensor? Also, what about that signal you show with the coal car, is that under control of a sensor. Sweet video. This is what I want for my birthday.

  • @MTHTrainFanatic

I use isolated rails and Z-stuff relays to control the crossing gates. I also wired them to a manual switch so I can disable or control them manually. Unfortunately, that was a little too much for the video so I didn't show that, but I did show how to wire the same relay to an MTH signal.

The coal car is show an example of grounding the isolated rail and control signal of the Z-stuff signals. I also show wiring the same control wire to the MTH AIU for remote control.

  • So these are all wired through relays. That's very cool! I will get the video when it comes out. What made you decide to do the extension?

  • @MTHTrainFanatic

Two reasons, one is out of practicality, I needed more room on the layout to park my trains. The other is I needed more material for another video. You'll enjoy the video, thanks.

  • Finaly!!!! its here!!! hooooray!!!!!

  • great video .)

  • ITS HERE!! ITS FINALLY HERE!!!!!! YAYYY!!!!!! guess what im ordering tomorrow? yep 2nd is the best!

  • @Southerntreatment

Well, the preview is here, but video will not be available for sale for about 2-3 weeks. Sorry...stay tuned. Thanks for your interest.

  • im im im crying this is sooooo good. you are the best model railroader out their. you have inspired me to do great things with my layout

  • @GoldenCreekValleyRR

LOL. Comments like these make it worth the effort. Thanks everyone.

  • @Toytrainsontracks im helping restore the 587. nickel plate road 587 to be exact. did you see what i got for christmas. it is small but it is a railking imperial 0-8-0 nickel plate line. check out the video i just added. by the way where did you get a video of the pennsy f units in real life

  • @GoldenCreekValleyRR

Restoring the 587 sounds like a fun job, wish I had the time for something like that.

Those Pennsy engines are E-8s on the horseshoe curve in Altoona PA during Railfest 08. I have more footage but couldn't fit it in the video. I may post them on Youtube or on my website.

  • @Toytrainsontracks cool. did you attend train festival 2009. i got great footage their of the 1225. 765, and 4449. what program do you use to make the dvd and videos on the computer

  • AWSOME. IM BUYING IT!!!!!
