usb, but you can have this adapter which puts the standard usb port into the plug so you can plug it into a standard socket, you may have to check which adapter you need as some are english and others american etc

they don't work on ipods, ipods need a computer or an Apple brand adapter with a special chip in it to mimic a computer so apple makes more money.

No..the camera mic had bad echo and as it focuses, the mic fades in and out.
