I sure do remember the mud snow ice and dust, I also became very familiar with Hoenfels ( and Graff, "Wild chicken" Vielsec etc.) from 87'-90' Being a 19D with the 2nd ACR I also remember slowly sliding all the way across the motor pool in a 113 with the tracks locked up yelling for people to get out of the way! and by controling the tracks , just missing other vehicles but not hitting anything.........Aaah the good ol' days.... ;-)
If you thought it was muddy when you visited. You should have been stationed here. The OPFOR went out everyday to play in the mud not for 15 days a year like the units that came to visit. I was here for 3 years.
thanks for video, brought memories, served with Delta co, 2/67 ar bn 3ad from ray barracks, was in Hohenfels when we got our deployment orders for Desert Storm. best bunch of misfits to go to war with. alot of laughs and good times. and solid soldiers when the time came to do our jobs.
OH MAN what memories this brings back ,i can still remember the mud, dust and feezing cold.didnt matter what time of the year you went there it was always a mess and misserable but i do miss it for sure. 1/11 ACR BLACK HORSE! THANKS FOR POSTING
My home from 90-93. I was stationed there with D Co (TANK) 1-4 INF. We spanked every Bn in USAREUR at least once LOL. Man what I wouldnt give right now to walk into Herb's and get a Dunklessweissen and a Jagerschnitzel.......
and the wash racks were always fun!it was always graf for 15 days and hohenfels for 15 days,it's where we found out we were going to desert storm, and finally get our combat patches, yeahhh!!i hate to admit it,and it may sound twisted, but i miss those days, even though they were miserable at times,we made the best of them, great camraderie!somebody was always making jokes or doing something stupid!best times of my life!HHC 2/67ARMOR BN,FRIEDBERG,RAY BARRACKS,'89-'91

our bundeswehr is too weak to defend against china or even russia so you have to stay in germany ok. but not only in ramstein also with jets.

Hi Leute,
Thomas
