...as for where I purchased the mount...I can't recall. As for comments about issues with boost...trust me I have all the boost I'm supposed to! I've used other OBDII readers hooked up to laptops to verify.
Sorry that it's been so long since the last time I've checked this. I do have it chipped but I've attempted this both with and without the chip. I should be pushing about 9 psi without the chip and about 14 with. In the end, I believe the software doesn't support reading BMW's datametrics for this value. It's a bit of a bummer since it was what I was looking for in the first place. In the end I'm still really happy with both the Kiwi and the Rev software. Great products!
@rwp120 Just FYI, the boost value is actually incorrectly labeled in Rev. The label shows PSI, but it's actually in kg/cm^2. Rev said that they'd have an update for it.
while driving however, the boost should build up properly.
If the boost is not building up or there are other problems check various parts such as: boost tubing leaks, vacuum line leaks, vacuum elbow leaks, incorrect wastegate setting, TCV failure, turbocharger failure, compressor bypass valve leakage.........
fukkkka..... that is true, but only partly: The thing that you describe are those tuning boxes that you plug into cables under the hood. A true software tuning from a good tuning company or an expert programmer isn't fooling the ecu. The ecu is reprogrammed in certain parameters (timing, boost, fuel etc...).
It is perfectly normal for the boost to be very low or in vacuum (e.g. -5 psi) while standing still.
My guess is the car is modded with a chip, likely a JB3 or Procede, that intercepts the true boost pressure and 'fools' the ECU into dialing up more boost. The OBD2 does not tell you truth; it tells you what the ECU thinks is the truth. Chips work by fooling the ECU about certain parameters.
your low boost reading is because the car is not in gear. there needs to be a load applied for the boost pressure to build. i'm sure when you are driving the boost pressure is up to....7 or whatever the stock is. if the peak boost in gear was 2......you would be getting codes. lots of them :) nice ride though, cool looking program.
By the way I was going to ask you the same that where did you get the winshield mount for the iphone? Can you please post the website or place where you got it. Thank you.
I seriously doubt it since 1 bar is 14.7 psi so that would mean he is making around 30 psi. I just got my 135i and was pissed when it did not have a stock boost gauge. I guess BMW thinks that is not important.

How do you get whp and torque on that thing?
Raydog91 6 months ago
@Raydog91 By entering the car's weight, the phone can calculate whp and torque using the the onboard accelerometer.

Hi just wondering where did you buy the phone mount. And what is the name of the model?

are you sure the boost is measured in PSI and not bar?
