Most "Christian" countries (I believe you are referring to Western countries) are actually secular, which is why they are developed. Remember the Dark Ages? Most European countries had no separation of church and state, and were therefore backward. That's what a state that takes Christianity as literally as countries like Iran take Islam would be like. In fact, any country where religion (no matter which religion) is not separate from state is backward.

Most "Christian" countries (I believe you are referring to Western countries) are actually secular, which is why they are developed. Remember the Dark Ages? Most European countries had no separation of church and state, and were therefore backward. That's what a state that takes Christianity as literally as countries like Iran take Islam would be like. In fact, any country where religion (no matter which religion) is not separate from state is backward.

The quaran is just as contradictory as the bible. I have more of a disdain for muslims because they seem to come off as more violent and more bigoted than christians do. Yes there are moderate muslims who aren't jihadists, but they still act very chauvinistic towards women. And you hardly ever hear christians request the death of someone who insults their religion. @jaddy316 Keep in mind that a lot of the stories in the Quran, OT, NT, and the Bible were taken from Ancient text and writings, from their myths and stories (i.e. Egyptians & Sumerians). Also, I believe that these books are nothing more than history books. Some stories are from actual events, and some stories have no evidence that they ever happened.

@CbandMaster similar to "scientific theories" we all agree to these 'theories" but we know they are not 100% accurate hence called theories... there are many theories on placement of the black sea and the caspian sea they are both surrounded by land yet carry sea water (salty water).so why would it be incorrect to believe that once upon a time a man named Noah built an Ark as commanded by his lord and these two seas are proof that,,that area was covered under water. because of "the great Flood"?

@jaddy316 The GREAT FLOOD was recorded by the Sumerians in a lot better detail than the Bible, and this was 4-6 thousand years before the old testament. There has been many stories stating they found the ark. Many were hoaxes, and has been proven to be hoaxes. I wasn't there is those times, so I can't say yay or nay, so its hard to believe whether these stories are true or just simply made up stories.

Theres a lot of things we don't know about our ancient ancestors, and through science, we are starting to learn a lot more about them. Like most stories in these books, they are written accounts of what ancient man new , and achieved.
