Most feminists never listens to logic and reasoning, their belief that men are to blame for everything and that men are completely evil are completely sunk into their heads. I notice how messed up our country that stems from a lot of these deluded lies. The only positive thing feminism has ever done was increase the work force and maybe a few small things. Its nothing compared to the mass amount of damage that was done.
As of late, at least on the US side of the Atlantic, there seems to be an absolute, subconcious rejection of the more extreme views of feminism. It's at a point where it would seem to be a "Mission Accomplished" attitude, where there is no longer a need to keep fighting. So, many of these girls of college age really don't care anymore. Afterall, the US military recently opened up 14,000 combat positions to women soldiers. If they so choose to sign up, what else can we do but offer the benefits?

Actually, the phrase "rule of thumb" comes from around the time that Charles II was in power in Britain, when a law was passed that a man was only allowed to beat his wife with an object that was no wider than his thumb.

I found that husbands raping wives was very much legal... Well, it was in the US up until 1996, and there still are ways to rape a woman. In Tennessee, if the partner forces sex and doesn't use weapons or inflict serious bodily harm, it's not considered rape. It definitely was pretty bad back then, although most women don't have nearly as much to worry about now. Sometimes cries for equality get too out of hand, I guess. :c

A legal reference for beating wives being illegal is a bit like finding a reference for eating one's children being illegal: most kind of obvious things like this are not spelled out in law. If there ever was such a law, I never found it, nor any remotely legitimate references to husbands beating their wives as some kind of pastime, the way Feminists love to suggest.

after researching feminism for a month and in light of recent events this has enlightend me. I think i get the big picture know and it disgust me our goverment has perverted our society. As of late, at least on the US side of the Atlantic, there seems to be an absolute, subconcious rejection of the more extreme views of feminism. It's at a point where it would seem to be a "Mission Accomplished" attitude, where there is no longer a need to keep fighting. So, many of these girls of college age really don't care anymore. Afterall, the US military recently opened up 14,000 combat positions to women soldiers. If they so choose to sign up, what else can we do but offer the benefits?

Actually, the phrase "rule of thumb" comes from around the time that Charles II was in power in Britain, when a law was passed that a man was only allowed to beat his wife with an object that was no wider than his thumb.

This one article I just read now that was written back in 1853 talked about a man named Joseph Hines was beat to death for abusing his wife.
The men who beat him were questioned about the murder but denied the charges.
The article goes on to say at the end "It is a pity that every vile rascal that beats his wife could not be served in the same manner."
Does this sound like a society that tolerates men abusing women?

One I recently read was where if a man abused his wife he gets whipped.
All of this and then some I found on the site called The Unknown History of Misandry.
Some of these go as far back as the 1700's, its just more feminist bullshit by telling you it was accepted.

I found that husbands raping wives was very much legal... Well, it was in the US up until 1996, and there still are ways to rape a woman. In Tennessee, if the partner forces sex and doesn't use weapons or inflict serious bodily harm, it's not considered rape. It definitely was pretty bad back then, although most women don't have nearly as much to worry about now. Sometimes cries for equality get too out of hand, I guess. :c

A legal reference for beating wives being illegal is a bit like finding a reference for eating one's children being illegal: most kind of obvious things like this are not spelled out in law. If there ever was such a law, I never found it, nor any remotely legitimate references to husbands beating their wives as some kind of pastime, the way Feminists love to suggest.
The rule of thumb is, of course, a myth (see Hoff-Summers on this here - JmfCB_IVkOc).

I remember sitting in at a few women's study courses ( classes ) and in every occasion the teachers took any opportunity to make snide, condescending remarks that belittle men in general. At the conclusion of the class you were supposed to leave with a distinct impression that all men do is rape, mutilate, oppress abuse, murder, make horrible fathers and molest children. Actually, it was legal to beat wives in that context, provided the instrument used was of a specified size. While this is quite a clever way to demean Feminism, you do neither Feminism nor Masculism any justice, attempting to eclipse the struggle of women with the struggle of men does you no credit. The oppression that affects men and women are different but equally important, and certainly deserve better coverage than a glorified smear campaign.
