wow i remember going there as a kid during the summer and diving off the rafts and trying to go as far down as possible. That lake was DARK when you got down far enough. I wanna go back there this summer :D Thanks for posting!
Wow, someone made a video of this place! I remember the water was quite sketchy. I also heard more than one person died, one of whom got stuck on something on the bottom after jumping off the high dive.
The crazy thing is I just typed in "Hopewell Quarry" never thinking for a moment that I would come up with a video of it along with actual patrons and a diver.
Seriously, thanks... I haven't been near Hopewell, NJ in 40 years. It's good to know that my favorite place to swim between 1953 and 1959 still "Rules." I lived just across the highway from it on a farm near "Box Canyon." I taught myself to dive on a diving board just like the one in your video.
I went there today and the high dive is scary as hell lol :P

Wow, I haven't been here in ages! Of course, I was a little kid and could only go in the crappy pool, but the quarry itself is beautiful!

@MaDrEaMeR17 Do You mean the Greenish Water below that beautiful picnic-type area above the overhang ?
How did you get there? I am still thinking it must be a different Quarry, not PA

what are those three things in the water on the right ? are they Wooden Raft areas? That wasn't there years ago.
I measures with Rope once...
Low Rock is 10' foot
High one is 24' foot, past the falls a 26'
and Triangle Rock is 81' feet high, but has
10 foot of rocks you have to clear.

"The things in the water" - the wooden rafts - have been there for AT LEAST 25 years; since I went there as a kid...
Does the quarry have a website? If so, anyone know what the URL for it is?

I took a closer look, this is not Dyer's Quarry, that one is literally the side of a mountain carved out ... is this place Hopewell ?
maybe this is the Alternate Quarry ?

Thanks, JDouglas, for this invaluable footage.
HOPEWELL, 1953
It was a quarry up on Crusher Road
With water, an inviting green, all deep
And fresh, pumped in as from some hidden spring.
A giant Navy life-raft was what showed
The most, when looking down into its keep.
I scraped the rocks one time, no minor thing.
