@khillertubes, I would have loved to treat water, but I couldn't find a practical and affordable solution to do so. It seems that many methods require a fairly long prep time. If you have a water treatment solution you can recommend, I would love to learn more about it.
Hey, I've been thinking of buying an osprey porter backpack because they're about the only backpack I have seen that doesn't have a detachable day-sack. I've heard a lot of complaints about them being uncomfortable, as in the straps aren't great for a heavy load or long time wear? Any input would be appreciated, thanks for the video, very informative!
on some airlines you can take a bag this size as carry-on, but on most I had to check it (the bag's straps zip into the backing, so that it doesn't get damaged in conveyer belts, etc)

@tomcatru for travel in under-developed countries why didn't you just filter and treat the water from the tap instead of buying bottled water?
