This whole album is their best. I first noticed Whitesnake in seventh grade with Love Ain't No Stranger, Slow and Easy, and Slide It In. Then, I bought the cd when 1987 came out. I have almost everything Coverdale has done and love the Purple albums and the first few Whitesnake albums. But this one is the perfect sythnthesis of their bluesy roots and the melodic popmetall that came after.

ah, this song takes me right back to my youth when Whitesnake were a great example of british pub / rock come good. Shame Coverdale had to tinker with things, sack most of the band etc, it then became the pityful David Coverdale ego project. This is the actual lineup that played on Slide It In. David Coverdale on vocals, Mel Galley and Micky Moody on guitars, Jon Lord on keyboards, Colin Hodgskinson on bass and Cozy Powell on drums. When the album was released in North America it had John Sykes replacing Micky Moody and original bassist Neil Murray was back. It is however the same album and I do not think they rerecorded any tracks with the new members. After that they were down to four members when Mel Galley and Jon Lord left.

I agree that their style here does look a few years behind the times. Maybe that is why they adopted a whole new look for their Here I Go Again video?
