Thankyou! I was also here to greet my son coming home.. Kilo Co. but couldnt find him.. and cried like a girl. :) A day I will never forget. This was and is the most intense, emotional event I've ever participated. Also have still photos to process. Will update.
My hubby was here!! 7 long months totally worth it!! Thanks to all those supporters out there!! God bless all the gold star families!! Hugs to all our 3/5 family!! Get Some Kilo!!
I still pray for 3/5 Marines and their families every day. It's very emotional to see the homecomings and know that while all came home too many did not come home in the same way that they left. My own son came back the following month with 2/1 Echo Co. and while we rejoiced at his return our hearts hurt for those who did not have the same joyful experience we were privileged to have. May we never forget what true service and sacrifice are.
Finally adding a comment to this video. I was privileged to be invited to this event, and getting to see these guys come home to their families after the hell they had been through was simply amazing. I didn't edit the audio, the sounds speak for themselves. An amazing day I won't forget. I also can't forget the faces of the 24 men that were not part of this day. Never forget! Some gave all.
