I used to live in NYC, then moved back to Phil in the 1990's. It was funny, first 6 months - it was culture shock to me. I found the chaos, inefficiencies bewildering. Then I adjusted. Look and enjoy the Philippines as it is, not judging it or comparing it to western models and way of living. Look at it from bottom up and why it works.

Actually, the happiest people I know are in the Philippines. Today, there is no way I am moving out of Philippines to any other place!

I've been trying to get my hubby to go visit his family in the Phillipines, but we never plan anything! His grandmother wouldn't teach him Tagalog or anything about Filipino culture because she was in America and wanted her children and grandchildren to be and act American, so I want him to discover his roots and meet the rest of his family. Maybe someday soon I can get him to go!
