  • the study hours are a bitch but the people here are hilarious, i love it when you get a large group of bored smart guys together.

  • i hate nukes...i was on 35-5's...i'm the reason why they started to wear head gear for boxing.

  • i hate nukes

  • Wow, that's one hyper Nuke! I bet he drove his mother crazy when he was young!!

  • Wow, that's one hyper Nuke! I bet he drove his mother crazy when he was young!!

  • "Welcome to NNPTC, do you have any electronic devices on your person?"

Oh man, video brought back good memories (believe it or not) enjoy school, thats about as good as it gets for the Nukes. Study hard but party harder! Wait, maybe thats why I washed out...whatever. Dont care what anyone says, Charleston was the best year of my Navy career thus far!

  • mechanics, no doubt?

  • i hope to god i can find a group of friends like this when i get there in march 2011....

  • So I got a 90 on the ASVAB... Whats the nuke program like? I think i may want to do that

  • nuke school rules if you dig hanging around with faggoty dudes and fugly chicks.

  • Hey, can you move your furniture shit around in your room, or do you already have room for a big ass tv?

  • Good video. -Williams, Patrick

  • The captain said no more boxing at NNPTC :( It was unfortunate. :(

  • wow nukes actually leave their barracks rooms crazy i thought all they do is play wow drink mountain dew and jerk it to miley cyrus cause they cant get none

  • @CJ090 hey now

  • I was in the Navy from 1985-1991 -- I was a nuke MM and served on the Eisenhower. One thing I know about nukes is that they can find many creative ways to pass the time -- and many creative ways to get into trouble!!

This video brought back some great memories...

  • Dont forget to salute the torpedoes and the squirrels.

  • @K1DBeast Hahaha XD Too bad that's hazzing. The first thing they told us when we got here is that it's mastable XD

  • you think power school and "A" school sucked, lol, wait until prototype

  • nuke school sucks lol adm rickover will suck your soul

  • lol, great video,

i cant wait to get to nuke school.... and btw, you guys suck at boxing. GO NAVY

  • @personalagenda22 nukes are the scum of the navy no actually the entire military

  • @personalagenda22 I hope by now you've realized the error of your ways.

  • There is nothing more dangerous in the world than a bored nuke. AWESOME STUFF. As a former nuke...this brings back some memories!!

  • i leave for boot in a few weeks and then im off to nuke school and until i saw this video i was scared to death because everyones just saying how hard its gonna be i think ill be fine tho hopefully

  • So as a perspective Nuke there is one question I must ask.....where do I get one of those snowmen? Seriously, I want one badly!

  • man nukes are messed up in the head, really weird

  • should i do nuke or diver or eod? i qualified for them all. how hard are they?

  • The Nuke field is very demanding scholastically, it's a rediculous amount of studying. I've heard the Diver program is quite physically demanding and probably takes a lot of focus, but I couldn't tell you for sure since I'm a nuke. I don't really know anything about eod. Good luck whatever you decide.

  • i signed nuke, and they won't let me change to diver. and i volunteered subs. how hard is nke school? i know there is a lot of studying, but do you need to know about machines or math beforehand?

  • they teach you everything there, but a good grasp of mechanical concepts and good math skills helps especially for the MM's for the other rates a grasp on electricity is good. But like I said they teach you everything, so its not required it just makes it easier.

  • I got screwed by my recruiter this way as well, I was ready to go SEALS and when i got to Basic they told me i couldn't even try out for SEALS because Nukes can't change. Get ready for studying 40+ hours a week if you don't have a photographic memory. If you don't, make sure you DO NOT go out and party every week with the other students. You will need every ounce of energy to stay awake after you finish your Rate courses.

  • Don't be any of them. Go to college. FTN

  • you can be both nuke and diver, at least in the sub fleet. If you go subs, when you get to the boat just tell them your interested in becoming a diver and keep your PT scores up.

  • sweet, thanks. what is more improtant, math skills, electricity, or mechanic skills. i have math but not really electricity and have never done anything mechanical. basically what i am asking is, do most mm's have previous mechanical skill?

  • well you won't know what rate you are til some time in boot camp, so you can't really bank on what you'll be but MM's are like 50 % maybe higher, EM's like 30- 35 and ET's 15-20%. Its a real crapshoot, so don't even worry about it, and those are real rough guestements.

  • Math is universal and will suite you well in all rates. Truthfully, your gonna learn both mechanical and electircal, your rate is just your expertise, and what you'll be doing day to day at the boat. When I got to A school I didn't know crap about electricity, but I learned it all there. Its tough school but it pays off. Remember school in the military is work not screw off time that your parents pay for like college. If you take it seriously, it will pay off seriously.

  • 25-4s and way stricter rules. I think that those boxing vids would have gotten us in the shits big time when I was there. You guys are in for a rude awakening for the next few years.

  • Haha, how do you like painting and cleaning in the fleet?

  • haha am i listening to mc chris?

  • Oh, you know it!

  • that makes nuke school seem so much nerdier to me... i think im probably going to go for it.

  • you are going to hate your life. end of story.

  • its not always like that but i had fun there get your work done then have fun.

  • Wait until you get to a ship. Boredom is a lot worse.

My advice: do your 6 & get the hell out. Don't re-up for second.

    Good times...

  • That's not what I did in my free time when I was in Nuke school in the 80s. :)

  • This is nothing like what it's really like. I'd prefer not to be here but I graduate from NPS in a month, yes!

  • Wow.. you guys could still get good grades in reactor kinetics and heat transfer and fluid flow while being smooth pimps. Wow. 92-94 we could not even go sking without chits.

  • Can't fuckin' wait.

  • All you need is to be on Vols.

  • wow this is what i have to look forward to.. seems almost like home, kickin it with some bros

  • "holy shit - is this how my schooling is going to be?!? HAHAHA! Dude, I can't wait to get in now!"

    ....should we tell him?

  • that would violate our integrity.

  • yea, tell him.

  • as i watched this movie.... i realized that i live in this house now!!! and now i know why my bed is broken. crazy shit! prototype sucks!!!! -ballston ave-

  • holy shit - is this how my schooling is going to be?!? HAHAHA! Dude, I can't wait to get in now!
