this is one of those videos, that helped define todays music. i grew up listening to this, and then spent a good 7 years playing with my own band. good times fo sho.
This song has so much more meaning to me now that I've gotten out of my parent's house and have seen much of the world. Alcoholism is an easy trap to fall into.
I've been looking for this song for 10 years! I first taped it onto a cassette off the radio one night a long time ago and have been looking for the song since the cassette broke in 02. I'd given up hoping to find it....It still is just as good as I remembered it.
Dude this brings back memories of me as a scrawny Christian teenager in the 9th grade bein' hated on cause I was Black and blastin 86 on my headphones...good times.
I am for the first time in my life realizing how beautiful christian rock is. By beautiful I mean it is just as hardcore as the unchristian metal and rock. This music makes it so much easier to grow my relationship with God.
Wow, does this take anyone else back to the Jr High and high school years? I remember those days, when being punk rock meant having jeans you could fit a basketball into, and having a chain on your wallet wasn't what made you cool, but how big and long it was did.
About 5 years ago I saw them and was talking to Schwab, and he asked me which was my favorite album, I told him definitely DBL and he said everyone said that, it was just an incredible album to do and had a certain feel about it. Anyway, I never get sick of this song
no doubt one of my fave albums all time..and ive got a shit ton..i neve r realized p86 was a chrisitan band..found out years ago..this whole album is incredible..<praises jesus for bands like like that have changed my life..wow.solid listen to front back to back.hmmm anyones interested in these guys..check back 15-25 years..stryper and heavens egde, also check out holy soldier..nit heavy.but great vocals and lyrics.god..makes em cry.also a band called deliverance for the heavier fans
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
all garbage bands..nothing metal about them bands..try opeth, nevermore, fates warning, lamb of god..real metal..judas priest.flotsam and jetsam..take your young minds back to real metal..unearth,etc is not metal..get over it,emo fucks..early metallica, megadeth,i can go on and on..these bands ya epak of suck and are not metal..amorphis,pantera,helloween,crimson glory...ive got 5000 bands that are metal..true heavy metal..get with the program.but project 86 are a band unto their own
Can anyone tell what kind of guitars Randy is using in this vid? I noticed he switches between two different ones (one in the big dark room, then another one in the smaller, better-lit room)
Sweet, a Les Paul. I just got one of those not too long ago, and I saw he was playing those in some of the more recent videos, and apparently he's played those since DBL. Not sure the one in the lit room is an SG though...the shape of it looks too funny.
This band has an excellent tone. It's not metal, nor grunge, perfectly nestled in between the two, but still manage to sound hard. That's what you get when you lived through one of the greatest decades music will ever know. The 90's. :)
Project hasn't come to Kansas City in years. had a string of bad luck. once I saw them and Andrew's wallet got stolen in a club. went to see them another time with Stavesacre and Living Sacrifice and Andrew had strep throat and couldn't perform.
Wow that's crazy, I was totally at that concert in KC when he got his wallet stolen. Linkin Park was the OPENING band! Haha That's how long ago that has been.
I had forgotten about LP being there. That was back when they were just getting their name out there with their debut album. wow. I remember it was Hed PE that came on after P86 and their singer made a comment about Christians that made us mad. Then POD came out and rocked the place.
Yes, we actually left during Hed PE because of that...wasn't worth staying to see POD at that point. Still wondering why in the world they would have a band like that tour with them.
a band unless a big star does not get to pick who they tour with. the label or someone usually does. POD put on a heckuva show that made us all feel a lot better. wish you would of stayed.
i first heard this song and of these guys on the Hard Edge Music sampler i won from a Christian radio station during the Christian rock/metal time slot
Yes for sure "Drawing Black Lines" is def their best work....I saw these guys live but they got banned from the venue for not stopping the show to tell people not to mosh...LAME!
i remember hearing this song on one of the songs from the penalty box compilations and i was hooked, it opened me up to a whole new style of music, their new stuff is cool but thier old music is amazing
The first two albums were the only good albums they made. After that, they just were not so great. But for some reason their crappier a,bums made them more famous/
and they keep getting better and better every cd they have i love this band freakin fantastic
