As such you can probably blame rose-tinted nostalgia for what I'm about to say.

I think A Link to the Past is a better game than Ocarina of Time.

Now don't ge me wrong, Ocarina was a brilliant game. It's just that, like with franchises like Metroid and Megaman, I think the Zelda series is one of those franchises that didn't need to go 3D in order to become good.

If you released a 2D Zelda game now, guarantee it would be a hit.

I was 5 when this came out. I remember being at my older cousins house and he had it. I VIVIDLY remember the start, your uncle asks you to go to the castle, save Zelda and you have to sneak by.

I also remember that there was nothing that could be done to beat Agahnim then (my cousin wasn't into it)... When I was 6 and a half, my parents bought me my own SNES and I bought this and played it until I FOUND EVERYTHING. I 100% the game, a feat I haven't been able to do since. This is THE Zelda game!
