There are so many moments to love about Sasha in this program. I love in the first combo spin when she catches her foot, just incredible stuff. The wonderful spiral with first her leg split behind her then in front of her so difficult. And the final combo spin, wow, so difficult and technically well executed with grace and beauty along with it.

Sasha has fabulous spins, beautiful spirals, endless grace--but honestly will she ever perform perfectly??!! Her magic is broken the second she enters the air and attempts even the simplest jump. What are her practices like? Do they consist of one failed jump after another? She was noted for her combined artistic and technical ability; she's been touted as a great talent; yet NEVER has she skated two programs perfectly.

it's very frustrating...i do think she is the greatest skater ever(my thoughts), but yeah...jumps get her everytime..

she must have concentration problems...nerves..whatever.. but i love her actual skating across the ice. no match for her in that area i say(again...my thoughts...which i get beat up for!)

I really prefer to see Sasha skate in exhibitions because then she barely needs to jump and, as you say, can exhibit her beautiful "skating across the ice."

Certainly not, but how many of us can? If the criteria for criticizing skating consists of the ability to execute all or any of the elements competitive skaters do than barely anybody would be able to do so! Sasha is beautiful in many ways, but she frustrates me so I can hardly stand to watch her.

I watch Sasha because I think she's a beautiful skater, and the magic is only gone when she falls, but she always recovers. That's what I love about Sasha. She always gets up right away, and she admits that she is inconsistent. nuttyasafruitbun said everything for me already.

ok why does she always come off as two faced and fake? its like she never means anything she says. its so...predictable. "I wanna hear the anthem nad see teh flag, and just havea good experience...bla bla bla."

Sasha was criticized a lot around 2002 for being brash and headstrong (kind of like Johnny Weir in 2006 but to a much lesser extent) and ever since she's sounded like a walking PR move to me. That time at Worlds when she was snarking at Peter Caruthers (which was awesome) was one of the few times I've seen personality out of her. I wish she'd be more like Johnny and let her colorful self come through.
