One could only expect to achieve consistency by practicing this technique, and we recommend you focus on developing your backhand with your racket hand only. @joewatch Yes, you're right. All those things go into performing a strong backhand attack. Coach Li was simply giving some quick tips to a student had no backhand attack to begin with.
I really like coach Li, but I don't think this video is that helpful. Some advice I would give to increase your backhand attack are: 1-take the ball earlier off the bouce 2-use your hips/legs more and relax your forearm to increase the speed of your stroke. 3-follow through with your counterhits like coach Li says, but accelerate your stroke through the ball. 4-keep the ball low by aiming for the top of the tape.
