@meteorace1 The show may not come out and directly say it, but Ari and Vinnie are like best friends. Ari taking the studio head position is kind of like the equivalent of your best friend moving far away. At least that's how I see it.
I was Ari Gold's Die Hard fan since the second season that's when I noticed he was amazing but this scene made me his real real fucking Fan!!!.. Look at his expressions when Vince's reaction isnt what he expected and how he tries to hide his disappointment... Just amazing.... Many of Hollywood's big stars wouldn't do it as good as he did... One of best Actors around...
is it just me, or does anyone else also feel as if this "fake plastic trees" version is, slightly slower....sounding..... better? please reply if you know of a slower version (the one here) from whatever album it may be, or is it just in my head.
Yeah, such a sad scene, the millionaire movie star flies off in his private jet with a bunch of models that are probably gonna fuck him. I'm welling up....
@smoker1111111111 That's what's so sad about it. With everything that he has, he still values friendship more and is upset that Ari might not be there for him anymore. Models and fame come and go, friendship is forever. That's kind of the entire point of the show..
@22metzfan Actually, it's friends come and go, family is forever...And there's still nothing sad about it, the guy has an awesome life and although some of these things might get him down from time to time his life is still alot better than 99% of everyone else's. Cant feel sorry for a guy that has everything, a loving family, close friends, money, girls, power and his health.
The Cherry on the Top is the radiohead song in the background of this scene these guys always nailed their music on the show and fyi the the saddest moment of the show is the fact that its over
This definitely stood out as the saddest moment in Entourage for me, really stayed with me. The only piece of film/ tv that has brought me to tears was a scene in Cool Runnings but this came very close. Johnny is indeed a legend and his line in this scene pricks the emotional atmosphere perfectly. Brilliantly made nugget of TV gold!
how is this sad. fucking ridiculously successful and pampered people having to choose between how to get more successful and pampered. cry me a fucking river.
The look on Aris face is priceless when he realizes being Vinces agent and friend is more important than quote getting him any job in town. THATS what I think made this scene sad, he was offering Vinnie the world, but he didnt really want it. Enter the lovely Dana Gordon instead!!
this scene made me hate vince. here is his friend, who has just been offered the job of his dreams and the key to anything he's ever wanted in life. and instead of vince being happy, all he can think about is himself. what a prick.
@DatPicksburghGuy definitely see what your saying, but after thinking about it for a while, it seems more like vince is just upset that he will essentially be losing a very good friend. Ari has become one of the boys, and by taking a studio head job, it would no doubt compromise the friendship... i see it more as your best friend were to tell you he was moving out of town to take a better job- while you are happy for him, you feel like you are losing part of yourself
@DatPicksburghGuy i think vince wouldve accepted it evantually, but after all he went through during this season, he relizes hes nothing without ari. ari made vince, not eric, ari.
@Kullewessi yes but not the saddest :p I agree with that, and just before that when he quits his job :p so fitting music. And the very last part of season 8 when ari gets offered a job
Entourage has the best soundtracks. "Fake Plastic Trees" in this episode, and "Going to California" in the series finale.

I disagree the character ari gold thought he wanted that job, but as turned out that wasnt what he really wanted he's made to be superagent
and i think it also gave a good inside in hollywood how people recommend other people just for theyr own good (dana gordon)
