  • The interviewer is just too funny looks like a hippied out twilight wolf guy

  • @Steezums2

Another term for that is poser-faggot.

  • In just about every single interview video I've seen Jerry had to step up to save face.

  • layne's my boo <3

  • haha laynes so fuckin baked in this

  • @kylecallbeck1990 haha i think the cameraman was too

  • Watching this video as the music starts and my eight year old yells "I love that song"!!!

  • I was born in 1996 and im a grunge, my brother was born in 1993 and he is more of a coldplay, muss person. WHY GOD!!!!!! I wish my brother and switched age.

  • boyinblack80, was at the show in Tijuana, stage dived during Iggy's set, knocked out a bouncer on stage, remember...? my bro and I were watching AIC, neither one of us had ever heard of them, my boy turned to me and said "you listening to this shit...?" I was blown away, such an incredible set, knew right then it was our favorite band ever...

  • @metallian11 hahaha

sorry I don't even want to come off like that at all.(seriously, he asked so I shared as much as I could remember from that time).was on the floor in tj (did you like Iggy? I thought he was really good) but no stage diving for me..Slayer at Iguana's might have taken the prize for most dangerous I ever saw....there was one guy who was about 6'3 who'd go up to the upper balcony and jump down..he did it again and again during their set and people were going out on stretchers.

  • Happy birthday Layne! We love and miss you so much!!! R.I.P.

  • @Mr47driver I wish I could've been my age in the 90's... :/

  • @Mr47driver I cant agree with u more

  • omg lol the interviewer is like jacob from twilight wtf

  • @KhandaU

you know I liked the band and being in bands I knew they'd be up there in the afternoon doing a soundcheck. I waited until Layne had some free time and said hello, he was writing a Valentines day card for his girlfriend. He got done and came right over we talked and funny enough he forgot his sunglasses after he left.. There was this brief moment where I thought should I keep them? I gave them back of course he gave me a beer when they were playing on stage.

  • this video's quality can't get much more 90s. ahhh i love it!

  • theyre so young in this

  • It's called Sea of Sorrow.

  • Whats the song played at the end? Not Man In A Box the other one :)

  • here and in the end his face looks so much different probably from heroin

  • he was a heroin addict

  • @wangsta231 Thanks for the news flash dickhead.

  • @Wacko1a why do you have to be mean?

  • @wangsta231 cause you dont just tell us what we already knew about such a legend, we dont want to be reminded of his troubles

  • @Wacko1a not everyone knew im sure

  • @boyinblack80 Cool story dude

  • I was lucky enough to meet Layne and talk with him one on one during the facelift tour. (In San Diego)..they were just about to head out with Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax on tour...but it was really cool...talked to the guy about 10 minutes without anyone around...he was really nice and just a super cool guy....I miss him. My guess is it could have been a few days before or after this...I saw them open for Iggy Pop in Tijuana of all places also..saw them 3 times live and every time was great.

  • @boyinblack80 thats awesome man, your fucking lucky. i wish i could have met Layne:(

  • @boyinblack80 Same here, I grew up In Portland OR and I met him in Seatle back in the day(92 I think, beofre they were really even that well known... he was really down to earth and also REALLY HIGH... too bad drugs took this amazing artist away from us. The 90's were the best era in music since the late 60's early 70's... Good Charlitte, Fall out boy, Aromor for whatever and the rest of these pop-poser-punk/rock bands are just plain AWFULL.

  • @boyinblack80 SOSOSOSO jealous

  • @boyinblack80 hell yeah dude! thats what i call the big 4!!!

  • @JacksonJS50Dinky hahaha exactly....super heavy show. Slayer was great...the big stage and venue did sort of dwarf the other bands a little...the arena held maybe 12,000 people....but for whatever reason Slayer kind of owned the night/ their sound was just so big..created a lot of action from the crowd....the other bands felt a little quiet comparatively.

  • @boyinblack80 I know I'll sound like an intruding dick, but... What did you two talk about?

  • @bagelman10 nah not at all. when I first came up to him he was writing a Valentines day card for his girlfriend and he asked "hey can you wait a sec for me to finish this up" I said no problem and 5 minutes later I came back and we talked about the tour for facelift so far/ This was at a club in san diego called the bachanal. they were about to start the tour with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax of all this (sort of a prelude to the Big 4 thing now. He was really excited...

  • @bagelman10 I can imagine why that was BIG tour for them. He gave me a beer while they were playing (budweiser!) /one last funny little memory was when we were done talking he forgot his sunglasses on the table we were sitting at/ (which at the time WASN'T his "trademark" thing). for a split second I thought. "should I keep them, or take them back/ I took them back /not a big deal but a weird little memory from that day. I met Kurt Cobain once too (my band was opened for Nirvana in SD)

  • @boyinblack80 Man, that sounds like an out-of-body experience!

  • @bagelman10 I looked around last night actually and saw something about the show I'd totally forgot about. They opened for Pearl Jam (well mookie blaylock as they went by for a few early shows) The date of the show was Feb 10, 1991 (so my memory of the Valentines day card was right) Was never a big Pearl Jam fan, but Eddie Vedder called me one time after seeing an ad I had in a local paper here in SD/ he was very nice, said he liked my influences and he'd help my band get shows. small world..

  • @boyinblack80 fuck, you make me feel like shit about being born in '93 :(

  • @llwadell shut up......I was born in '96! How do you think I feel??

    jk

  • @llwadell yeah but I am 42 now....so that ain't so cool.

    :(

    sucks actually...time goes fast...enjoy being young(er)

    :)

  • Man in the box.... sounds so good in my head...

  • The weak souls let chemicals ruin their lives

  • @badderthanyou writhing in awe in the presence of such incredible baddness...perhaps some people just never realize you can't be high every minute of your life and you have to come down sometime...but I also say this as someone who has never done heroin...seems to be a whole other ballgame in and of itself. Always so nice to find insecure people on the internet who try (and don't succeed) in making themselves look better at the expense of someone else.

  • @999marydoll Nice try retard. You contradict yourself 2 or 3 times. Lame. Go get dope sick with Mike Star.

  • @badderthanyou #1 his last name is spelled Starr, not Star. #2, he's fucking dead, asshole. Your mother should have swallowed you at birth. Show some respect for the dead, douchebag.

  • @BigNick419andholding No, it's Mike DopeSick. You have no respect for yourself and want others to respect a a narcissistic drug addict? Tom S. should have kicked his ass. Wuss sack.

  • @BigNick419andholding Faggot ass troll. Go back to blowing Justin Biebers cock asshole. Nobody here cares what you think. Troll.

  • "I was Paul Stanley 3 years in a row for Halloween." Dude, I wish you were still with us! F*cking Great, wasnt he? His voice and legend lives forever. Jerry looks like he's 16 lol.

  • one of the best voices in rock and roll-- if it wasnt for aic, nirvana , pearl jam ,rock woulda been dead by now...so it seems to me sometimes....

  • @vajraloka1 how can you leave out the best voice of them all, Soundgarden, temple of the dog... ( cornell ). 90s grunge scene was the best thing to ever happen to music.

  • @vajraloka1 ehhm.. youre forgot.. SOUNDGARDEN!!!

  • @minihelmet77 ha ha- ok sound garden too , not too in too them but ,so many like them as well....SG TOO..LOL

  • @Jlo83live wow you are 37 years old i hope your day comes very soon you waste of space

  • damn just googled Highland Grounds and looks like it's closed

  • Anyone one else thinks he acts and sounds a lot like kurt at 0:32 - 0:43?

  • @PhiI93 You know what Phil...that's a dumb question. Why make that comparison?

  • and they say Cloverfield´s camera-work can make one dizzy.

  • Im kind of curious as to what Layne was high on.... dude was trippin nuts during this interview

  • How did he die?

  • @Destroyed666Doom Speedball overdose.

  • Poor Layne. He deserved more credit than he got.

  • lol layne's an owl :P

  • Haha is that Steve-O??

  • @ChrisGProductions1 i thought the same damn thing lol

  • Now Thats what I call a Rasta Cap!!

  • worm food

  • nevermindx2. Piss off from this video.

Alice in Chains are my fave grunge (not technically grunge) band and I have all their albums and EPs.

  • EVERY KID MY AGE 40 PLUSS HAD WALL TO WALL KISS POSTERS

  • ....Steve-O?

  • Its easy, no, we will never see this again.

  • Seattle is like a miniature New York city is basically what it is.

  • Well they weren't the heaviest Seattle band by any means. Great band though.

  • @mkmoloch One of the heaviest. I can't think of many heavy ones. Maybe Melvins, Hammerboxx, U Men are heavy. Soundgarden are pretty heavy-ish.

  • @Sharingan6277 Yeah but you also have to recall the Thrash that they had at the time. Other than that they didn't have much metal.

  • @mkmoloch Thrash? I believe L7 did thrash. Which album are they thrash? I have Facelift & Dirt...

  • @Sharingan6277 Oh no I didn't mean like Alice in Chains. I meant Seattle had some Thrash bands like Forced Entry and Metal Church. They even had a Death Metal band by the name of Infester.

  • @mkmoloch Ah okay. Never knew that, well they must be all underground scene.

  • @Sharingan6277 Yeah that's about all I listen to. Music that's made for the sake of music and not money.

  • @mkmoloch Yeah I know. Some mainstream is okay I guess. There's bands in mainstream who don't do it for the money.

  • @Sharingan6277 Yeah either way it's about personal preference. I can't think of too many mainstream bands that I personally like.

  • @mkmoloch They're alright like for a spur of the moment. Then the likeness for those bands die out.

I don't even like Paramore, Fall Out Boy etc as much as I used to. I'll probs end up hating them eventually.

  • @Sharingan6277 Yeah they always die out at one time or another. You ever been to Seattle?

  • @mkmoloch Nah my Dad has (lucky git LOL). have you?

  • @Sharingan6277 Yeah it's like a 35 minute drive from my place. I live like 40 miles north.

  • @mkmoloch Aberdeen? Renton?

  • @Sharingan6277 Nah, Aberdeen and Renton are south. I live in Marysville. Don't you live in the UK? Did your dad take a business trip?

  • @mkmoloch Oh okay. Yeah in UK & 10/11 yrs ago he went on a business trip. Well he was gonna get a job somewhere in Seattle or somewhere near the West Coast area (can't remember). So we might have ended up living in US.

Dunno why he chose against it.

  • @Sharingan6277 HAHAHA paramore, fall out boy? what a faggot.

  • @nevermindx2 Btw wanker. I'm the biggest Alice in Chains fan ever. Grunge is my thing.

So go fuck yourself you patronising cunt.

  • @nevermindx2 Btw you're a faggot. Before making presumptions of my music taste, go look @ my fucking page.

Coz unlike yours, mine is better.

So fuck off troll b4 I put you in da Crippler Crossface. And when I lock it in, and there's tremendous torque and pressure on your spine, I won't release it even when you're tapping out. I'll break your fucking spine. When you've been totally paralysed, I'll simply chop your dick off with a hacksaw, and feed your bloodied penis to my Rottweiler, Tyson.

    :)

  • @Sharingan6277 i hope you're being sarcastic or else i'm highly embarrassed for you. go back to listening to little ginger emo girls, little boy.

  • @nevermindx2 You're a real fail. I know you're a troll. But you're a fail cannibal troll.

If you were a real troll, then you wouldn't bother with a fellow /b/rother

You fail to realise the true essence of trolling. A true troll shed lights on the truth, whilst exposing the medicority and false imitations that surround the world.

You my friend are an insult to /b/ tards and the MILLIONS and MILLIONS of The People's Trolls all around the world.

  • @nevermindx2 Now you've clearly been on my page. That is certain fellow Brit. I know you've read the "emo" statement I made.

I'm not an emo simpleton troll. Go improve on your trolling. If you want to be a real troll, go join 4C... or MOB.

You clearly know I'm an Alice in Chains fan. Why bother blud?

Oh btw... Emo???? Not that I listen to it, but real emo is Sunny Day Real Estate, and they started out in Seattle around the same time as the grunge scene.

You're referring to poser em. Nah dat eww.

  • @nevermindx2 I think you're a decent troll, but you have a long way to go before you attain Trollvana.

Now if you want to troll properly, join MOB.

  • @nevermindx2 Oh and trolling another troll just proves you to be a fail cannibal troll. You see the thing is, I respect your music taste, b/c we both like pretty much the same things.

  • @nevermindx2 However, troll friend. I will end this conversation now. Adios mediocrre troll, I'm going to listen to Alice in Chains' album Facelift.

  • @Sharingan6277 oh great a poser who likes paramore pretending to like good music, get a grip.

  • @nevermindx2 Okay whatever. So what sort of music do you like?

  • @nevermindx2 Poser? You're funny mate. Funny b/c I know every single grunge band.

I know more about music than you. Unlike you, I'm more diverse in my music taste. I embrace all forms of rock.

  • @nevermindx2 You like Jedward innit? And your momma is Susan Boyle right?

If you wanna play troll games, I can do that as well blud.

  • @nevermindx2 Dya know what I can do blud? I can lock in that Crippler Crossface, anytime; anyplace. And when you're tapping out, I won't relent. I'm gonna watch ya writhe in pain, as I put tremendous torque on your spinal chord. Then when I've left you completely paralysed, I'll chop of your smegma ridden dick with a chainsaw. Then I just feed your bloodied penis to my Rottweiler Tyson.

For sho! I'll gladly re-arrange your face. Heck, I'll fuck your skeezy momma right in front ya blud.

  • @Sharingan6277 paramore fan = obvious virgin

  • @nevermindx2 What's your favourite band buddy?

  • @nevermindx2 I like your username. You must be a Nirvana fan then???

  • @Sharingan6277 Prolly but it may also be a new troll scheme to use usernames to the type of music they're going to attack, I like Nirvana and I don't usually start meaningless shit like that. AiC and Nirvana are the best two bands from the 90's in my opinion.

  • @Chayse88Black

Yeah. I like all of da Seattle 4.

  • @Sharingan6277

I agree with you about being diversified in musical taste. It's pretty stupid when someone categorizes a person based on the music they like. Anyway, I love a lot of bands. Don't really care what people think about it.

  • @ForeverInChains90

    I know.

    Diversity = open mind

  • @Sharingan6277 Poser? You're funny mate. Funny b/c I know every single grunge band.

I know more about music than you. Unlike you, I'm more diverse in my music taste. I embrace all forms of rock.

  • @nevermindx2 Yo momma is dirty ass floozy. Boy, she's fucking worse than a prozzie blud.

I never knew she was a floozy. Dyaaaam! What a skatty sket. A skeezy hoe. WOW! So she shags 50 old men in 1 hour? She's basically a rampaging sex bunny innit?

But I can't wait to sodomise ur momma tonight. It was fab when I rammed my cock so far up her fucking pussy. She's the perfect cum dumpster. She screamed 4 joy when I donkey punched. And if she's a good little slut and swallows it, then'll teabag her.

  • Layne was a really good looking guy before the heavy drug abuse. It's so sad fucking sad man.

  • @madmethod21

He was always good looking, even when he was heavy into the drugs, but do you notice how piercing his eyes are here? They look amazing.

  • Layne Is A Fucking Gangster. Alice In Chains Still Fuckin Ahead Of Time

  • what a cool time to be in the music industry, the relationship between interviewers, bands, everything is marketed now and days and unfortunately marketing found its way into the music industry..this just seems like it was the last of creativity and originality. and that is a horrible thing to think when your high..

  • @DimEStaleyRIP tell me about it man! im not one to cry..but that almost makes me cry man

  • He had an innocent face...but his fuckin' pupils were so dilated that you could barely tell the natural color of his eyes...God bless you, Layne...I know what drugs can do to you...it's not before long that you're doing them to simply stay alive...but you die anyway...it's a vicious cycle and it sucks that you had to be one of the many to succumb to it...

  • @zandriakay no man, layne is in my heart, hes not dead, people just adore him,no one can sing like him

  • @kidLayneStaley I wholeheartedly agree...he is in my heart, too...every time I hear one of their songs I can feel him, you know? He makes you feel him through the lyrics and the music...I never knew him personally but I feel like I did through his songs and these interviews. :-)

  • Let's all move to Seattle and play some Grunge!

  • God, look at Layne, he's just a boy...
