No it's real Tails can only become Super Tails if he collects the 7 super emeralds, I'm not kidding back in Sonic 3 or Sonic 3 and Knuckles you had to collect the seven Chaos emeralds to truly complete the game, but you had the option of going back through the levels and collecting the more powerful vesions of the Chaos Emeralds known as the SuperEmeralds, and to aswer your other question he becomes invincible and the birds that follow him around attack every enemy that come on screen.

And TT was the size of a skyscraper and very muscular so this is not TT.

Nope, it's totally SuperTails. If you collect the chaos emeralds with Tails in S3&K, you don't get squat.  After you get all the super emeralds you get a message saying "Tails can now be Super Tails". His physical abilities don't increase like the Hypers, but he gets some super flickes to make it worth it. I figure that SEGA was trying to convey the message that Tails is young and cannot make super with the normal emeralds and needs a bigger boost.

Super Tails was once seen in the comic in issue 66 after he and Sonic collected an untold number of rings, but was called Hyper-Tails and Sonic became Ultra-Sonic. This was made by mistake or by choice as the comics have never gotten any of the super transformations right(except SuperSonic of course).

Sometimes, I wished that the Archie Comics didn't butcher Tails's fantastic super image by forcing him to wear a Superhero cape.

That was America in the early 90s- Super was considered a term used for Marvel and DC characters, and according to comic geeks of the time, "cool" superheros must compulsorily wear tight-fitting costumes, masks and long capes that flutter in the wind, which makes you want to scream "god bless America".
