no. when a band loses all its members except for one you no longer can consider that the same band anymore. the name may be the same, the creator may be the same, but it is worth noting that the 'project' has drastically changed. regardless nothing has been released by the 'project' Soviet in years, despite constant announcements of a supposed release.

Soviet...as a band...is no longer. Keith is using the name, and putting out this new album. The band who put out the album 'We are eyes, We are builders' consisting of keith, chris, amanda, and greg is no more. And 'The Foal' has been coming soon for over 6 months.

But since this particular song was released and on an album when Soviet consisted of several members, none of whom are still with the band, I still think it makes since to say that this particular Soviet is no longer a group. Fair points. Anyway, "Spies" was to be Keith's record for a bigger label out in L.A. but they passed on it and it never saw distribution. At least that's the story as best I remember it. "The Foal" was to be released by Kinetic-Media out of Miami but Keith is now likely just going to release it himself. He may do the same with "Spies." I'm working on Sovietbot.com as we speak and hope to re-launch it in the coming week or two.
