Good ole fashioned saturday TV back then when you could watch have a laugh and go out for the night, no need for gimmicks and celebrity obsessed tv like X factor and dancing on ice.
What a classic. Thanks Jeremy, thanks Eric, you have made me smile and laugh watching this. Does anyone know what year this clip is from? It must be around 1990 or the early 90s, since they mention John Major?
Someone has asked is Eric still with us , well I can confirm he IS very much still with us as he is my Uncle and can remember this episode very well indeed..even though it is a good few years down the line Eric is still has a very strong character.. someone else said that we need something like this on UK TV today and I agree, I would even go as far as to say that eric would make a great BEADLE lol anyone agree??
@suejenner thanks for your reply! good to know eric is still with us all! what a temper,eh? i'm laughing as i'm typing this because there was NO way that the doggie loo was gonna get anywhere near his home! yeah, i agree that he'd make a GREAT beadle, only i have a sneaky feeling that if the victim got out of order...well eric would punch them!!! ha!
Wouldn't it had been great if when Beadle turned up with his dogs, and one started having a turd in front of Mr Glass, and the camera got a clear shot of his face, watching the dog pooing?
the horrible days now of 'where there's pain there's a claim (blood pressure etc)' has stopped quality telly like this!! I saw a documentary mentioning Beadle's about etc and thats the reason nobody has made a similar series since...very sad. RIP Jeremy. This was qaulity saturday night entertainment
telly like this hasn't stopped, ur just lookin the wrong place. Take 'Scare Tactics' from America thats from the last couple years. The whole program woz based around pranking people into thinking they were about to die ! U don't get much more extreme than that !
Beadle woz a genius tho and this woz quality for its time.
Yes there were mobile phones in the 80s.... they just weighed the same as a bag of spuds, were just as bulky and cost a small fortune to buy and run. The batteries and signal coverage were pants too.
'Dogs have to do their number 1s and number 2s'...haha, absolutely brilliant! It's so funny watching peoples' reactions....I loved 'Beadle's About' in its day and wish it was still on tv. Thanks for this, not seen it in years, brings back some good memories!
