I`m reading TC`s biography by John Fisher, `Always Leave Them Laughing`. It`s a very revealing book and s reccommned for all who loved this comedy legend and thus would like to understand the man.

I loved the wit of Tommy Cooper and his impeccable sense of timing. He was always the self depracating, loveable, conjuring duffer, seemingly unable to get anything right. This legendary uniquely British comedic genius as with Spike Milligan and Benny Hill, will long be remembered. I'll bet in heaven this trio have them rolling in the isles.

The world lost a pure natural comic the day he died. He didn't even have to say anything when he came on stage and you were laughing.

There will never be another Tommy like him no matter how many people replicate him. Like Peter Sellars, Les Dawson, Morcambe and Wise, Two Ronnies, these comedians are a class of their own and cannot be replicated. But Tommy was a genius in his own rite.
